      CONCERT REVIEW BY LOGIC/FURY

    EASTERN CREEK, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

     REVIEWED BY LOGIC/FURY (lucky
                              bastard)

on saturday afternoon the 30th of
january, three friends and myself made
our way to eastern creek raceway. not
to see the FORDS kick HOLDEN'S butt, but
to see the CONCERT OF THE DECADE in
australia. yes, i'm talking about

          GUNS N' ROSES!!!!!

we caught the train from blaxland
(in the blue mountains where we live)
down to doonside and caught a shuttle
bus out to the 'creek'. at the bus stop
there were guys flogging off cheap
t-shirts ($10.00). i decided to wait for
the real thing.

at the gates we were body searched
by special security guards. they were
checking for everything that wasn't cash
(they would get that later, once we were
inside!)

once inside the grounds you got the
feeling you were in a festival. all the
rip-off merchants that line the streets
at the shows were selling food at
exhorbarent prices. even water (mineral)
was $2.50 per cup!! fuck off!! man this
is highway robbery if i ever saw it!

we made our way down (with our
expensive water) to section A. after
findind a very worn piece of grass we
waited for the concert to start.

the first band up was PEARLS & SWINE.
they played some hard rock tunes. they
were o.k. but we were waiting for the
gunners.

next up was the re-formed rose-tattoo.
the lead singer is none other than ANGRY
ANDERSON the tattooed dwarf bikie. they
wailed out some classic rose tattoo
songs, plus some new ones yet to be
released. he was really cool.

SKID ROW was next up. they played
heaps of their coolest songs. that mad
prick of a lead singer really knows how
to control a crowd.

he was saying, 'wots the use of a
fuckin' PARTY without fuckin' beer. i'm
not going until one of you pricks
(pointing to some roadie) gets us some
BEER!'. sure enough about 10 minutes
later (after some more cool songs) he
had some beer.

he tossed a dozen bottles into the
crowd after warning them, 'catch it coz'
i don't wanna be sued!! doesn't matter
anyway because i broke!!' one girl got
hit in the head and was taked away in an
ambulance. she should have been watching
anyway.

after they left there was a 2 hour
break. then it came. the GUNNERS. AXL
ROSE was reigning supreme. in complete
control of the crowd of 80 000 people.

    they played all the coolest
g'n'f'n'r's songs. when played 'welcome
to the jungle', 2 inflatable monsters
inflated on either side of the enormous
stage.

DUFF and GILBY were cool, but SLASH
was better. he wore his traditional
black hat. and of course he had a fag
hanging out of his mouth.

the music was really worth the wait,
and it was fantastic to be a part of the
experience. one of the curious things is
that axl got changed 10 times. when he
wasn't singing he raced behind the stage

also, not mentioned in any of the
newspaper reports was that there was dru
gs. you could smell the 'MOTHER NATURE'
being smoked, and could see it being
passed around. before the gunners came
on, people were waving ignited lighters.
this turned into burning coke cups and
then BONFIRES (as all of the rubbish was
dumped on them!).

    i counted 20 spot fires!!

   in short, the uppers were:

   gunner played cool music,
skid row were good & pleased everyone
  no drunken' arseholes causing problems
     no fights

   the downers were:

   $2.50 per cup of water
   axl disappearing every few minutes
             getting changed
   gunners not on long enough

i hope they do another huge concert
with lots of bands again at the creek
with free water!

RATING: 9.5 out of 10!!!
