          get in he ring
          mutha fucker
          tour
          step 11
          26th may at
          inonu stadium
          in istanbul!

yep! this was the poster that
drove all the rockers in turkiye
crazy! you know,big bands never
visit turkiye on their world tours
so this was a VERY BIG shock for
all.

   anyway,on the concert day i(the
boss) had an exam at school(econo-
mics) so after taking it,mimmi/acy
,me and two other friends got in-
to mimmi's car and drove to the
stadium quickly.i planned to meet
mr.dj and axl(that's axl/acy of
course,hehee.)but there was such a
big crowd that it was impossible
for us to find them.so we finally
decided to join the queue and wait
for the concert that would start
at 7 pm with BRIAN MAY BAND.
   after a lot of squeezing,troub-
le,shouting,crying etc. we finally
managed to get into the stadium at
aroung 18.30! and right at 19.00
brian may started the show and it
was quite good.he played his own
songs like BACK TO THE LIGHT and
TOO MUCH LOVE WILL KILL YOU as
well as some queen hits like WE
WILL ROCK YOU and a bit from the
BOHEMIAN RAPSODY.
he was really very cool and the
back vocalists were damn geiling!!
heheee..when brian announced their
names,the audience cried out like
hell! also the the drummer was
the ex-rainbow,ex-whitesnake and
ex-black sabbath drummer COZY POWE
LL,one of my favourite drummers.
and after the brian may band
left the stage,we started to wait
for the second support band "the
soul asylum" with patience.during
the brian may gig,we moved to the
front rows but it was really fuck-
ing hot and squeezed there.many
people left to go to the back rows
but we were determined to stay and
feel the band better!
so two hours pased and it was
round 22.00 when the anger in the
crowd reached the peak because it
was already very late and no acti-
on was seen.right then the lights
went off and a dude came up to an-
nounce that guns n' roses was comi
ng!!!!
   geee....right at that moment
axl showed up and with a loud sou-
nd we saw slash running in a white
shirt and blue jeans.they smashed
into "it's so easy",turning the
crowd into wild animals! nihohaha!
we all went crazy! later they went
into mr.brownstone and double ta-
lkin' jive.after a while axl call-
ed a girl from the backstage and
told her to translate what he said
.well,he just warned the audience
to stop throwing firestarters or
he would leave the stage.after th-
is,the crowd behaved more like nor
mal human beings,hehee..some more
songs later,the lights went off
and when they came,we saw that
all the band was at the front of
the stage with acoustic guitars
and matt with a scaled down drum
kit.so you see, they played most of
their acoustic songs including
"used to love her","you ain't the
first" and of course PATIENCE!!
during patience,axl again stopped
and warned the crowd for the last
time.but we were surprised when
played "knockin' on heaven's door"
and "november rain" with acoustic
stuff.(except for november rain's
end)
   another interesting thing happ-
ened when axl asked some people
to give the slogan they carried
and then he showed it to the stad-
ium."mom,don't worry,i'm with axl"
was written on it.later matt star-
ted a COOOOL drum solo that later
turned out to be the intro of"you
could be mine"! yeah! another cool
pice of art!
when it was round 23.45 whole
band left the stage and we thought
"hey what da hell?did it end?"
of course it wasn't the end...af-
ter a while they came back and st-
arted "don't cry".coool...some gi-
rls started to cry by then.but the
romantic atmosphere split with
"paradise city!!!!" we understood
that this was the real end when
axl threw the microphone away.lat-
er matt threw the sticks and slash
the penas.axl presented bunches of
roses to the people and they were
gone...shit!it was like a dream!
they sang over 20 songs and stayed
for over two hours.it was a day
no turkish rocker would forget!
shit,i forgot to say that gilby
wasn't there and instead we saw
the master himself "izzy stradlin"
on the rythm guitar!yep...
   even though i was dissapointed
with some gnr stage performances
in some videos, they really did a
very good job in this one...i thi-
nk we were lucky,eh.

   anyway,that's all for this con-
cert.keep your ass rocked!

                the boss/accuracy
