         about incubus of antic

this interview was planned to be written
live at at the x-mas party in herning 93
but suddenly he! was gone and i couldn't
find him. so i had to make a (normal)
interview instead!!

please let me welcome one of the legends
in the c64 scene : incubus of antic

         -----------------------

  yo.......
first of all thanx for sharing your
personality with the rest of us.
-but let's get started the boring way!

? please tell us your handle and group.

! oof, that one was hard. incubus/antic.

? and your real name ?

  bjoern robin forsberg

? when were you delivered to the earth?
  (day,month,year)

! on the 27th of march 1975.

? ok that was the most important things.
but pleaz give us a small introduction
  of yourself.
(personal facts : hight - hair colour
                    eye colour - glasses
  sparetime, other interests, job/school
  hobbies and so on!!)

! i'm a bit taller than the average,
1.91. my weight was the last time i
measured 91 kilos. i have brown short
hair and green eyes. i usually wear
glasses, but i'm planning to get my-
self a couple of contact lenses.
when i'm not in school (i'm in my
last year of a 3-year technical educa-
tion) or sitting infront of my comput-
er (which isn't very often!), i am at
a party or pumping muscles at the loc-
al gym. i also sport: i play tennis,
  tabletennis, bowling and basketball.
i'm also listening to a lot of music,
  especially symphonic rock groups from
  the early seventies, like genesis,
  king crimson, yes and marillion.

? for how long have you been in the c64
scene, and please tell us when you en-
tered the world of the c64.

! i first got my c64 in 1984, and since
i was only nine i only played games.
first in 1988-1989 i got interested in
the scene, and got myself a lot of
contacts from the very popular "dator-
magazin" under the handle baldrick of
gorezone (a VERY local group!). then
in 1990 i joined my first real group
cocoon, and got myself the handle
incubus. in november 1991 i joined
antic. i think you know the rest...

? in which groups have you been before?

! 1989-1990: gorezone.
  1990-1991: cocoon.
  1991-1993: antic
  1993-1994: triad.
  1994-    : antic.

? your handle 'incubus'
is there a special story to it?
please tell how you got it!

! well, it's nothing special, it's just
the name of a song from my absolutely
  favourite group, marillion. the name
incubus derives from a myth about some
kind of a ghost that entices female
victims, and kills them. it's also the
name of a paranormal mythical octopus.
sounds nice, eh? it's hardly a handle
  that reflects my personality...

? what is your memberstatus and job in
  your current group ?

! oh, i'm just a swapper. when i was in
triad, jerry called me a "pr-guy", be-
cause i make these photoalbums, that i
spread to my contacts. i also used to
  make disk-covers, but i haven't time
  for that now.

  the memberstatus of antic:

  depeh, xor, jordan, exalt, zyron,
  creeper, beachtiger, andre and incub-
us. sorry if i missed someone, but at
  the moment i haven't got a memberlist
  nearby.

        tell us about your faves!
        -------------------------

? what do you prefer to eat?

! fried alpine char ofcourse. kebab and
  kebeb-pizza will also do.

? and what do you like to drink?

! water, milk, everything! at parties i
prefer dark beer or "white russian".

? to what music do you listen?

! as i said earlier, symphony rock. here
are some groups/artists i often listen
  to: marillion, pink floyd, genesis,
yes, king crimson, mike oldfield, elp,
  rush, fish, jean-michel jarre, camel,
gentle giant, rick wakeman and saga.

? your favourite girl(s)?

! many! here are some real honeybuns:
  winona ryder, christy turlington,
  rosanna arquette, emma sjoeberg,
  mariah carey and vanessa williams.

? yeah girls are the reason for living!

? what movie was the coolest you ever
  saw?

! my VERY favourite movie is platoon. i
also enjoyed watching t2, first blood
  and falling down.

? and your c64 favourites

     demogroup : horizon

     crackergr.: success

     coder     : king fisher/triad

     magazine  : milestone, revealed

     composer  : p.r.i./tia/oxyron

     grafixer  : hein holt/focus

     cover des.: electric/extend

     sceneland : denmark

     demo      : red storm/triad

     game      : pirates!

? and last :
your favourite friend(s) in the scene

! the very best friend that i have had
in the c64 scene is REMIX/CLIQUE. too
bad that he stopped swapping, the c64
scene needed him. nowadays it has to
  be stephen/epic, who always writes
really long letters and has a very
  nice personality.

? yeah a whole lot of things you liked.
but what about things you dislike!

is there any particulary phenomena or
mayby dudes you do not like in the
  scene. give us the story!!

! in general, the scene of today con-
tains much less ragging and wars than
some years ago. i don't know, perhaps
it is because people have started to
understand that it is meaningless and
silly, and that the scene gets more
and more vulnerable as time passes.
but there's really not much i can
come to think of that is bad, not any
  persons either.

- it makes me very happy to hear that!
coz i think this is the only way. we
are getting closer to the goal!!

? what is your plans for the future ?
both in the scene and in private !

! when it comes to the c64, i'll conti-
nue doing what i'm doing at the mom-
ent, having a calm, settled swaplife
with my 50 contacts. as far as i know
now, i'll never leave antic. i've rea-
lised now that there cannot be a bet-
ter group for me to be in than them.
for my private life, i'll finish my
school education (i'll finish in june
this year), and then i'll start look-
ing for a job. any job will do, con-
sidering that the employment in sweden
is really low these days. but it'd be
very nice with a job with computers!

? the c64 scene unfortunately can't live
  forever !
when it dies (in a lot of years!!)
  what will you then do?
jump to the (l)amiga or pc, or simply
  quit the entire compy-scene?

! as i feel at the moment, i'll be in
this scene until the very end. i real-
ly love my contacts, and i want to
stay in touch with them for as long as
  possible.
if the scene dies, i'll concentrate
on my amiga career (on that machine i
am known as FUGAZI/TAURUS). i really
couldn't stand a life without comput-
ers. the amiga scene is nowhere near
the originality on the c64 one, but
  it's always something.

? people often talk about a lamer.
but what is a lamer?. please give me
  your definition !

! there's nothing special about this
word, though many guys have their per-
sonal thoughts about it. for me, it's
only a word similar to "idiot", and is
used by sceners. it's nothing more
  than that!

           about your contacts
           -------------------

? do ya have a lot of contacts ?
(how many - name a few.)

! as i mentioned above, i have about 50,
but only half of them are active. i
  can mention some: stephen, amarok,
the spy, d-ram, black widow, the boss,
  calypso, l'trimm, joker, nightshade,
  pri, cyke, syndrom, stormlord, smile
  and tbb.

? do you prefer legal stuff or cracks
  from your contacts.?

! well, i'm not very amused to get
  cracks. i rather get diskmagazines
  and demos.

? do you use cheated stamps ?

! no.

? why not?

! i used to do it, but i was caught by
the post some time ago, and they thre-
atened me with the police if i didn't
stop it. this forced me to drop over
100 of my contacts, and you can say
that it virtually put an end to my
career as a megaswapper. nowadays i
have to send out with full postage to
everyone, and when you include photo-
albums in each and every send, it is
  not cheap!

? magazines! some people say there's too
many - some say there's not!!
  what do you think?

! this question really makes me angry.
how can there possibly be too many ma-
gazines? if you think there are, you
don't have to read them! i think that
it's only good that so many mags are
produced, this proves that the scene
isn't dead, and it's good fun to read
  them. can this be negative?

? they for one thing sure keep the scene
  alive, but what about demos?
what do you think about the quality of
  the demos produced nowadays?

! i was shocked by the quality of the
demos at the party iii. who could be-
lieve that these kinds of routines
were possible on the c64 some years
ago? there doesn't seem to be a limit
of development in c64 demos, and that
  is something really great.

? what is your advice to all the demo -
  producing groups, concerning their
  future productions?

! keep up your work! i know it can be
hard, but you have to be creative and
full of new ideas when making a demo,
  otherwise nobody will care!

? if you had the opportunity to build up
a new group - which persons would you
  like to join ?

! coders       : slammer, kf, crossbow.

  musicians    : pri/oxyron, zyron/antic
                 and drax.

  gfx'ers      : joe/wrath and electric.

  swappers     : stephen and amarok.

  modemtraders : motley/g*p

  others       : goblin and spirou.

               brainstorm!
               -----------

? what do you say when i say :

  group      : marillion

  coca cola  : burp

  friendship : remix

  c-64       : sentimentality

  amiga      : silents

  girls      : yeah!

  beers      : lapin kulta

  magazines  : milestone, expressen

groupwars  : not much to have.

  sex        : great, but i don't seem
               to get any...

  parties    : x-copy

  interviews : what?

and last 'skyhigh' : future mag!

? yo we are getting closer to the end
  now.

i'll hereby give you the word to say
  what's on your mind.
  the word is free !

! is anyone of you out there interested
in symphony rock? do you also swap?
contact me, i'll answer! i'd really
like to share my interest with other
sceners. my address should be in the
  address chapter.

? if there's some guys you want to greet
or give a special message then why not
  use the opportunity right here?

! so many of my contacts haven't written
to me for ages, and i'm starting to
get worried. if you know if any of
these guys have left the scene or
for any reason have stopped swapping,
  please let me know:

  andre, bordeaux, dannie, dense, dutch,
  henry, jayce, matt, r.c.s., reign,
  scapegoat, silver, sneaper, tg-acme,
the torch, trix, twist, viper and
  yazoo. please, it's important!

(don't count on yazoo coz he has left
  the scene - biz kid!!)

? yeah that's it..
we reached the end of this interview.
so i better let you of the hook for
  now!

i'll end by thanking you for taking
the time to help me with this.

i hope you'll stick to this beautiful
  scene for a long time!
have a cool time in the future.

  thanx homeboy!!

! don't thank me, it is an honour for me
to be interviewed. keep up your work
  with this magazine, jesper!

----------------------------------------
that's it for now! - so better load
          another chapter now!!

                                BIZ KID
