*Demo review..
---------------
And again, we were sailing through the
waves and the look-out saw a ship,
which sailed the same way.
Raising the battle-sails and using our
slaves' power, we came closer and
closer. The buccaneers were ready for
boarding and so Croon (Mc Cannonball)
was the first who shocked the spanish
soldiers... Blasting some of them
away, the rest from the pirates-ship
entered the treasure-ship. The spanish
fleet didn't have enough power and
courage to stand the extremly hard
men to men fight and finally they
showed the white-flag.
Throwing their captain over board and
torturing some soldiers, we got the
secret goods of this ship.
Croon still torturing a fat soldier,
we used to open one of the chests and
we found pure gold in it. The second
of three chests was filled with
valuable stones and a new mixture for
producing quality rum.
We opened the third chest and we found
the...
Starion demo called OKSEN
---------------------------
in it and back on our island we'll now
take a closer look on what is up to
see.... ^
About Oksen from Starion...
----------------------------
*The intro showed up with an xyz-
rotating starfield and a sprite
textroutine with some nice animations
*The first part started with a big
multicolor-scroller. Later it turned
to be a border-flexer through the
sideborder. A nice automatic or
manual animated porno-sequence fits
to the funny music..
*Part number two served as a kind of
note-part, because we saw a starfield
using the sideborders and a nice
single-pixel-text-routine, using two
proportional charsets..
*Very nice to see was the third action
of this demo. Interlaced Comic-Strips
scrolling over the screen. Also a
nice scroller fits the action...
Negative-aspect: The text in the
balloon was unreadable and the
interpretation from Starion didn't
harmonize with the supposed sentence
in the comic...
*Part 4 shocked with two 2x2 turning
dycp. Very nice to see was a vector
pyramide, but it bored after some
time, because I suppose it to be
precalculated. [Ed.: It was not
coded by Walt/Starion...].
The dycp using one color each...
*The fifth one started with a single
pixle-graphic-build-up on a multi-
colored Starion-logo.
Furthermore it build up to a filled
Starion-logo with 'Cult of Cum' on
it...
The part turned out as a second note-
file, as there was again some text
displayed, but as usual, it was not
everything. As you can press the
keys 'AOUCH' for a short digi and
space to leave it...
*Number six or sex brought us the
1541 Fuck by Starion. Very good idea
and we had fun in excecuting what we
supposed to have to do. Moving the
disc inside out,the drive-lamp burned
and a simulated dick pushed in the
showed drive. I think the action was
arranged by requests on the photo-
electric barrier of everyones drive.
*Seventh part showed an 160 bobs
Vectorball....
*Part 8 served as a turn the disc
function. A single (three colored)
upscroller and the sprite-peace-sign
[Ed.: Remember the old Bonzai-times!]
arraged a special amusement..
The upscroller was old (Told to be
made on the Bonzai-party in Aars)..
*A full screen Dypp was the only
action to see in part number nine...
*The 10th and last part showed a nice
raytracing, featuring seven colors.
Fully joycontrolled and a nice text-
routine gave the real enjoyment...
--------------------------------------
All in all, not very much graphical
work, but you can see, that well
designed demos musn't have a logo in
every part.
The musics by Metal and Scortia of
Starion and Page of Side B always
harmonized with the action and the
design of the parts..
The code by Walt and Crush was quite
good aswell, as they deleloped some
crazy ideas and styled the parts very
well. Not so much hard-coded parts,
but the design and the build'em ups
amused us very well...
Total.........................87%/100%
Comment: A very nice demo, which is
------:--for sure not made to be
spread for two or less weeks.
Not only the Floppy-fuck by
Starion made us laugh and
happy.
Our Tip: Buy some new discs and save a
---------copy of this piece of design!
