THE REASON WHY DEEK AND BIZZMO JOINED
THE REASON WHY DEEK AND BIZZMO JOINED
                 CREST!
                 CREST!

They simply got bored in GENESIS and so
they felt like a little change. Another
reason was because GP used some tuned
and graphics which weren't intended for
them.
----------------------------------------
       BIZZMO AND DEEK WARN YOU
       BIZZMO AND DEEK WARN YOU...

to send them discs because they are no
swapper and damned lazy so they'll not
send them back! Also interviews offers
are waste of time and money!

     THE PANDORA - HYSTERIC CONFLICT
     THE PANDORA - HYSTERIC CONFLICT

Part 1: New age - Nova Ateas
----------------------------
"Nova Ateas" and "New age" are one and
the same game because "Nova Ateas" means
"New age" in english!

So, the troubles began as PANDORA sent
the cracked "New age" 1st release to EXC
to fix, And sure they did. Some days
after that HYSTERIC sent the cracked
"Nova Ateas" to EXC for fixing. And
again EXC did it! So both groups PANDORA
and HYSTERIC claimed to have a 1st
release! Sure the real 1st release got
PANDORA!

Quite strange from EXCALIBUR that they
didn't notice that the fixed 2 times the
same game on the boards!?

Part 2: Starbyte Super Soccer
-----------------------------
PANDORA cracked SSS 1 day before
HYSTERIC and gave it to EXCALIBUR for
for fixing. But they refused because it
was a BASIC game.
Then HYSTERIC cracked it and NOT did the
fixing work.

Now laugh PANDORA about NOT because they
fixed a BASIC game!

  THE WORLD BIGGEST PIRATEGANG BUSTED!
  THE WORLD BIGGEST PIRATEGANG BUSTED!

The crackergroup FAIRLIGHT was busted by
the American Federal police, FBI, in the
beginning of February. What they found
was a major fraud- and piratecon spiracy
with a girl in the center.
The Not So Humble Baby, her handle in
computerbusiness, had for nearly 2 years
aquired games and other programmes
before they were officially released
from manufactureres. She and the others
in FAIRLIGHT had quickly broken the
copyprotections and put these programmes
on the many electronic BBSes that FLT in
USA had to their disposal. Many Swedes
had connected to these BBSes and modemed
home both games and utilities.

Phreaking:

FBI more found that FAIRLIGHT had bought
equipment for unknown amounts with help
of false VISA-cards. To keep the Tele-
phone costs down, they had been "Phrea-
king". This is done by calling a special
1-800 number (020- in Sweden) and then
getting a new dialtone. From there you
can call anywhere in the world without
costing you more than one marker.
In the home of the Not So Humble Baby,
the FBI found a notebook full of names
and numbers to the leading pirates in
the USA. She had, to the delight of the
FBI, her papers in good order. At the
questioning the girl had given the names
to everyone she knew was pirating!

Big bust:

She will be prosecuted on six charges
for fraud and piracy. The credit card-
frauds had been in amounts of 20000 dol-
lers and the pirated games were worth
over 100000 dollers. In addition to that
computersand other equipment in her
house and with the others in the group,
we're impounded to an unkonwn value.
The computers were mostly PCs (486S) but
also a Macintosh Quadra or two were
found. If the not so humble girl is con-
victed, she can get between 5 to 30
years in prison for EACH charge.
The circulation of pirated programmes
ammes will now drop sharply.

                         Per-Otto Lekare

This is what was written in this article
and it is quite true. Let me give you
the facts though:

The Not So Humble Baby was the c0-leader
with Strider in USA on the PC section.
She had been bribing companies to get
firstreleases, and been carding like
hell.
They got her when carding, so a good
piece of advice, don't card!

Anyway, addresses were found, and people
in touch with this babe should stay low
for a while. But the feds can't do any-
thing in Sweden, so Strider should be
safe, but if they do get him, FLT will
die. When he goes down, the Amiga guys
will get busted, and then me too.

I'll try to get back to you with more
information later!

       THE SCENE MUST DIE HUHHH?
       THE SCENE MUST DIE? HUHHH?

Hello there, this is Greg/FACES.
I have a reaction to the article about
the dying of the scene (in WN 13).
Why do you think the scene necessarily
die just because these guys quitted ??
Maybe they have some problems personaly.
that doesn't mean that the scene has to
die. Naturaly there's the Amiga and
PC attracting some dudes.
But these dudes must have been only
attracted by the nice GFX and music,
and coz they might got bored of the low
budhet 64 games/mags.
As I said, they were attracted by the
machine, itself with digisounds, 34792 x
17362 pixel defination, and 17 million
AFLI-filled Plasma Vectorbobs, etc.
And not by the friendship and company
of cool dudes that keeps the 64 scene
toghether. Coz, those who stay here on
the 64 also know that the Amiga is a
better machine, but they know that
the friendship, and policy of sending
stuff, for example is not as cool as on
64. So if we want the scene to go on,
then let's be friends, and try to keep
it alive, and lets not write these
hypochondric notes that:"The scene must
die", coz then finally; we make
ourselves believe it.

that's all,

                   yours, GREG/FACES

     WHY RESTARTED THE GAMERS GUIDE
     WHY RESTARTED THE GAMERS GUIDE?

         Article by Jerry/TRIAD

We stopped THE GUIDE because groups
 began missusing it.

Groups started cracking only to appear
in The Guide. Groups started using
ugly megashort intros to appear in the
beginning of the lists and so on.

A lot of people agreed to our reasons
to put The Guide to sleep. Still they
wanted us to bring it back into action
since they liked the basic idea.

Then what could we do to prevent the
 lamers to take over?

One way to do the job would be to rank
the versions on quality. This would
mean testing harder. A quartet of
Dutch crackers offered to do this and
 so they joined TRIAD.

A test version showed us that we had
been too optimistic. They just didn't
understand the amount of work needed.
this was our fault since we in Sweden
were the ones having the experience.

Another way to keep the crap out would
be to limit the number of versions
 listed in THE GUIDE.

How the hell can we do that without
getting into war with half of the
 scene?

The solution is to let YOU do the job
for us. Then you can't complain. This
 is smart, isn't it?

In the future we will select the
 versions to display following a
 top-list of the quality crackers.

You vote for the best QUALITY groups
and we make the top-list from your
 votes.
This system will make it a bit harder
for the beginners and for very small
groups to get into The Guide, but
 what can we do?

Groups outside the top of the list
will get the chance to be in The Guide
 anyway, because all groups don't
 crack all games.

Another good way to qualify for
The Guide is to do a better job than
the others and to make sure that
people see this and vote for you.

           ABOUT THE SWAPPERS
           ABOUT THE SWAPPERS

I am Tango of Cross.. As the scene used
to know me, I was the Tango|Cash of
Cross, and nothing else. I also was a
member of Paramount for some months...
Anyway, I have been following the -war-
between R.C.S. and Aslive about the fact
that they both claim to be the #1 in the
swapping scene.
I were once a big swapper, not having
earned to be the #1 swapper, but still
some guys voted for me, and I was the #1
for some time. I give shit weither most
of you don't remember that or not, i
simply had to write this little article
about the swapping.
Some swappers think that the main idea
is to become a member of the best group
around, and to spread as many disks as
possible. Well, that is great, but this
thing is quite so boring after a while.
I am talking of my own experiences as a
main swapper. Anyway, what is the point
of getting over 300 contacts, when you
hardly know more than 20 of them good
enough to call them scene-friends??
I know, everybody votes for the contence
of the sendings, and not for the guy who
sends the parcel with the stuff. If the
swapper sends out more than twice a
month, with cracks/wares from the group
of which the swapper belongs, he/she is
a #1.... ... .. . ???
How come? Are there nothing but false
pals around anymore? I mean, the scene
is earning on dudes who is friends, even
if they are nothing but swappers...
The swappers of today are boasting
about the amount of contacts, not how
good friends they are. Just ask Remix,
who used to be a member of BRONX.
He and Morris/Cross wrote letters to
eachother, longer and more private than
even the best friends could talk with
eachoter about.... So, I didn't care to
write these amount of letters, but still
a lot fo guys voted for me...
So, is it because I sent out fast?
No, it can't be, because I didn't....!!!
I don't know why people liked me as a
swapper, and that doesn't bother me..
I got about 250 contacts, and I was the
king..(I thought)..
Still, we know that people vote for
guys just because they have MANY swap-
partners... I think that it is wrong to
vote for people just because of the
amount of contacts and the group they
are in. I can't say that RCS, nor
Aslive are wrong, because I have no
cause of doing that. All I mean, is that
there are no good way to judge a
swapper. It depends on wither you like
the guy you are swapping with or not.
To be honest, I swap with RCS, and by my
means, he is one of the best contacts of
mine, ever.. (I have some experience,
and that is NO boasting..)
I have no contact with Aslive, but as
far as my concern goes, he is good too.
Then, it depends on the friendship they
are putting into the swapping. I know
of people that haven't got more than 30
contacts, and they are, used to be,in the
charts of the swappers.
It means much to get a position in the
charts. More than TWO months after I
quit the swapping, I were the #1 in some
magazines... How about that?
(I can't prove any of this, you all
better belive me.. !)
Anyway, let the swappers be judged by
the rest of the scene, which in fact
means their contacts, and nothing more!
I hope to be a part of the charts too,
but I won't go over bodies to get there.
Actually, I give a shit if RCS and
Aslive have a war, it's just what the
war is abot, as long as it doesn't
matter the whole scene. I don't wanna
be a enemy of any of them/you...
Let the swappers be judged by their
contacts, not concerning the amount of
contacts nor their group...
 I love RCS,Derbyshire Ram,Nightshade,
Hero,The Chief,Nuckhead,Monique,
Penthagon,Cevin and the rest of them...
For being swappers, good or not, but
mainly friends and cool dudes...

              Happy hacking!!

                     Tango of CROSS '92!
