euro section asked us to make an
AUSTRALIAN section.

i did not give it great popularity
through out the country. as i would'nt

perhaps you have heard of my nationwide
campaign for temperance.

each year, for the past 14 years, i have
made a tour of this country, delivering
lectures on the evils of drinking.

on these tours i have been accompained
by a young friend and associate herman
forsyth.

herman was a pathetic case, a man of
good family & excellent background,
whose life was ruined because of
excessive indulgence in alcohol.

how much better off he would have been
had he given up his evil ways.

herman would appear at my lecture & sit
on the platform drooling at the mouth &
staring at the audience with bleary,
blood shot eyes, whilst i would point
at him as a glaring example on what
drink can do.

unfortunately, last month herman died.

a mutual friend has given me your name
& i wonder if you would care to
accompany me on my next tour, and take
the place of herman ?
