Megacharts - part2 And onto the next spine-tingling chart, to see who is: MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR Pos. Musician Name Points --------------------------------------------- 1. Zardax/??? 58 Whew, another really close one, with the top two within a tiny 17 points of each other, and then with Compod nearly 800 points behind! But, a good score for Compod, but Shogoon should be a bit higher up, in contention with P.R.I. and The Syndrom. Some guys just missing the 40 cut-off were Deek, Doxx, Eye, Scarlet and Brian. Better luck next time guys.... And how about we shuffle off to see what your favourite read of 1995 was, by seeing what is the: MAGAZINE OF 1995 MAGAZINE OF 1995 Pos Magazine Name Points --------------------------------------------- 1. Outdoor/Excess 49 No doubt here on what is the magazine of 1995! Nitro takes the crown easily, followed by Shout, which I guess is dead, or will be soon. A great achievement for Onslaught Design to take Vandalism to the place in the charts that its ex-editors couldn't. Also a great score for The Tribune, showing the magazine's ever increasing popularity. Propaganda should have been higher, and The Relax will get higher in the months to comes. Just missing the cut were Smash, Notorious, Viadro, and Dream. And now let's see who you all thought was the best: COVER DESIGNER OF 1995 COVER DESIGNER OF 1995 Pos. Cover Designer Name Points --------------------------------------------- 1. ELECTRIC/EXTEND 622 1. ELECTRIC/EXTEND 622 2. Duce 187 3. Cruise/Taboo 110 4. Zapotek/Alphaflight 104 5. Fazee/Taboo 9 FX/Doom Patrol 9 16. Dr Soft/Albion 8 17. Appacz/??? 5 Otaku/Angry 5 Silver Bullet/Mayhem 5 20. Coldic/??? 4 Troop/Atlantis 4 Hmm.... I thought that the Single Crackers chart was predictable, but I did not realise the scale to which Electric is the favourite! A crushing defeat for all other artists. Junkie should be WAY higher, for an example of his quality, take a peek at his cover for this issue of this mag! A great score for the very talented Zapotek. Maybe Electric should retire from the scene to give everyone else a chance! But notice that all the people in this chart are all extremely talented individuals, and just because some have few points, it does not mean they are not good artists. I'm in awe of all these guys, as I have seen covers by them all, and they are all great. Anyway, why don't we move onto the topic of which is the best: LAND OF 1995 LAND OF 1995 Pos Land name Points --------------------------------------------- 1. GERMANY 565 1. GERMANY 565 2. Poland 369 3. Holland 288 4. Sweden 205 5. Denmark 123 6. England 40 7. Australia 21 8. Hungary 19 9. Finland 16 10. Spain 12 11. Norway 8 12. New Zealand 7 Switzerland 7 14. Estonia 3 Mozambique 3 Paraguay 3 Russia 3 USA 3 19. Austria 1 Belgium 1 Ah well, the Germans win again, but the Polish are getting closer now! It must be depressing for Clive of Motiv8 to know his country (Belgium) is rated under Paraguay.... Looks like there has been some BIZARRE voting going on, eh Jose? As we know, this is not a serious chart, but what would happen if we said you could not vote for your own country? I guess Paraguay would be on a winner with that one.... And now the chart most people will care about most, as we find out who is the best: SWAPPER OF 1995 SWAPPER OF 1995 Pos Swapper Name Points --------------------------------------------- 1. INTRUDER/AVANTGARDE 485 1. INTRUDER/AVANTGARDE 485 2. Calypso/Alphaflight/Amnesia 372 3. Spermbird/Chromance/Excess 267 4. Derbyshire Ram/Avantgarde 257 5. Sebaloz/Lepsi Designs 200 6. Darkness/Atlantis 21 Didi/Laxity 21 40. Scroll/Megastyle 20 Well, this one was really a two horse race from the start, between the king of 1993 and 1994, Calypso, and the new king of 1995, Intruder. Intruder manages to pull off a convincing victory in the end, which was well deserved, after a hard year for swappers, with few wares. A great score for Bizarre considering his mid-year comeback, maybe he will be the king of 1996 if he carries on this way. Or maybe that guy on position 12 will be..... Just missing from the top 40 were Unicorn, Aristocrat, Clive, Ca$h, Silver Bullet, and Titanic. --------------------------------------------- And that is it. I hope your were not too dissapointed that I only went as far as the Top 40 in each chart, but in some of them, after 40 people a lot of real unknown guys started popping up with virtually no points, so it wasn't worth it. But, this issue's charts will have the FULL listings, so if you haven't had a look already, go now. If you have a complaint about me getting your group wrong, or someone you know's group wrong, don't harp on about it to other people, come direct to me, and I will change it for the next issue, as well as print an apology, alright? See you at the end of 1996! Shuze/AFL
