Howdy partners!!

Somehow I got the feeling that not all people know all the small gimmicks in Skyhigh. Someone might even have small difficulties in operating it. So just in case it could be so, I decided to do a chapter to help. Basically the operating system is the same as is in the previous issues, but as the mag has been going through some changes lately there might be some minor improvements here aswell. So why not just take a look at it all !!!

HOW TO USE SKYHIGH

Well first I would like to say that we (Raz and I) have tried to make it as user-friendly as possible all the way. If you should have any ideas or improvements please let us know and we will see what we can do !!! Ok let's go :

THE MENU

At the top you can see what issue you are reading at the moment - just in case...

The menu is working with icons in a kind of window- system. You can control the pointer (the arrow) with either the cursor keys or the joystick in port 2.

I guess everybody know how to move the pointer to a certain area and click, so I'll skip that. All I'll write is the directions.

JOYSTICK

Joy-directions  : move the pointer.

Fire  : Choose or load.

THE KEYBOARD

The cursor keys works the same way as the joystick so that shouldn't be a problem.

Return : Choose or load.
*  : Return to the text. (will be explained later)

- -- ------------- -- -

The menu is divided into 4 windows :

Chapters (main)
Chapters
System
Music

Chapters (main)

In this window you'll find 7 icons. Each one is a cate- gory of its own. Choose one of them and see the dif- ferent chapters in the window down under. Each of the main-icons can hold up to 8 chapters. So the wise reader has already calculated a bit and found out that the mag can hold 56 'chapters' (more or less!!!)

Chapters

The 2nd window will be named after the category you have choosen. Meaning : if you choose the main icon " Addies " then the window will be called : Yes that's right : " Addies ". What a surprise.. To load the chapter simply move the pointer over it, and press fire/return.. The outfit turn automatically to the textscreen when a chapter has been loaded

SYSTEM

This is the window you can choose wether you would have music on or off. Simply 'click' on the icon. The 2nd icon is also quite obvious. If you want to go to the text simply 'click' on the : Go2 text icon and off you go. But as said earlier this is not the only way. Besides 'the Go2 text' icon and the star (*) on the keyboard you can also move the pointer to the upper left corner (also a star!!!), and 'click'...

MUSIC

Well, this should be quite obvious as well. Simply click on the tune you want, and it will be loaded im- mediately. In case I have decided to use more than 3 tunes (like in this issue!!) you can scroll up'n'down at the side. Quite simple!!!

THE TEXT-SCREEN

The text reading part can also be operated by using either joystick in port 2, or the keyboard.

The text can either be as upscroll or as the well- known page-shift system. Pick the one you like the best and just use it...

JOYSTICK

Up  : Scroll up
Down  : Scroll down
Right  : Increase page
Left  : Decrease page
Fire  : Return to menu

KEYBOARD

Cursor up  : Scroll up
Cursor down  : Scroll down
Cursor right  : Increase page
Cursor left  : Decrease page
Return  : Return to menu

You should also notice the info line. It's the changing line in the yellow raster-split. Here you can always see the name of the chapter + the name of the tune/ composer.

Ok I guess, and hope, that everybody knows how the magazine works now..

So why don't ya load anotha chapta now...
