Ping pong dynamolygte. Welcome to anotha edition of the on-going Bizmix...

This time I have quite a lot on my mind. Explanation: Lots of things have happend since last issue was out at the party 4 in Herning/Denmark...So I guess there is a lot of incidents to sort out!!!

Ok why not jump right into it !!!!

THA BIZ-MIX

In the previous issue of this magazine I more or less declared Oxyron dead. Therefore I proclaimed that I was looking for a new group to join; but why not tell you the entire story !!!

Some months ago I talked to TTS on the phone. He told me that he was getting sick'n'tired of the old 64. Especially the lame party in sweden: 'Tribute 94' took away the last bit of inspiration from him. So he decided that he would leave the c64 and start to code on the amiga only.. A bit later I got the same information from Axis. So now Oxyron had lost their 2 topcoders, leaving 'only' Graham back... I know Graham; he's one hell of a coder but not the most active one, so to me it seemed like the end of the c64 era...

So I presumed that the end of the Oxyron c64 division was near, and therefore I decided to leave my friends in Oxyron and search for a new active/legal group. To no ones surprise I was hoping for Camelot. But - more about that later...

All this was as mentioned written in the previous issue of Skyhigh....

Somehow RRR got pretty upset about that, and started behaving strange. I don't in my wildest imagination, (or maybe I do!), understand why he got so upset.. Fact is that he did a note straightening out some errors. AT LEAST that's what he thought and said... The note was written like it was done by the entire Oxyron, but it wasn't!!!! It was entirely done by RRR, and RRR only!!

(But read more about that in the chapter called : Why RRR???)

In the meantime I had a talk with Raz about joining Camelot. All he had to do was to ask all the other Cml members and make them vote.. 14 days went and finally Raz called me up and said that I was in...

The day after (a sunday) Axis rang me up and told me about the note RRR did. They had been informed about this note by Pri.

- He, (Axis), said that even if RRR had written that I was no longer a member of Oxyron I sure was! He told me that Oxyron had nothing to do with that particular note, and that I should not start looking for a new group because of that!!! Unfortunately he was too late, coz I had already joined Camelot at that time.. (One day earlier, as a matter of fact!)

But to make it quite clear to everybody then I did NOT leave Oxyron because of RRR, but becoz they were dying. I told axis that and we decided to meet the following weekend at an Oxy-meeting in Flensburg/Germany to talk it all over.

At the meeting we discussed the latest incidents. The entire Oxy posse didn't understand what was going on with RRR. And we came to the conlusion that he no longer belonged to Oxyron, so he got booted. In other words :

HE GOT KICKED!!

About me joining Camelot :

Well they fully understood me, and backed me 100% up. Some wanted me to stay becoz Axis was returning as coder (a very wise move my friend!!) but they under stood and respected my choice. But there Is a sad side of the story too!

I've had a lot of fun & partying with my real friends in Oxyron through the years, so I did feel sad about leaving them like that! But on the other hand I had informed them some months earlier that I would look for a new group becoz of Oxyron dying. But I hadn't calculated with Axis returning to the good old c64, so it changed things a lot! So we made a deal ;

Eventhough I'm a Camel now I am still very welcome at their hq and with help for their demos!!!

As some might know then Oxyron & Camelot are pretty good friends. I can tell ya that Axis and Slammer are quite good buddies, and so is the story with me!! So if Oxyron really kick back with new life then I am what you could call :

A spiritually part of the team, meaning we are still best of friends.

And if Oxyron goes 100% amiga, then I have secured my further activities quite well.. So I got it almost as I wanted it. I joined my other friends and their group. So jumping from the so long time top-demogroup to the next is almost more than you can dream of. 2nd I witnessed the troublemaker RRR got kicked.. And to tell you the truth, then it felt good!! Sure it was a bad way to end for him, but in my opinion he asked for it.

So bottom line is that I am a Camel now!!

But what about Skyhigh then ???

Skyhigh will ofcoz continue in the future... I have been thinking about making it an independent magazine. You know like in the good old days; a Biz Kid magazine. But I came to the conclusion that it should better be a Camelot magazine. So in the future Skyhigh will be released under the Camelot label. Only thing is that I am now looking for a new co-editor to replace RRR.. See the chapter 'help me' for further information

So to all you out there : don't worry Skyhigh will be available for a long time to come.....

As a matter of fact then Raz is working on a new outfit at this very moment. We don't know if it will be ready for issue #15 (this issue) or the next. But be sure that there'll be a new, or an improved, outfit soon. Unfortunately I can't tell you anything nor reveal what will be changed yet....so all I can say is :

Wait and see

Ok to something different

Finally the antinazi demo was released. After more than 12 months of delay I finally got enough parts collected to make a demo of an reasonable lenght!

Unfortunately some promised parts didn't show up at all, so I had to make a decision and start up the plan ning and linking job. So I contacted Raz to make him finish the parts. It went like this : He 'debugged' the parts and started to link them. He then sent me the parts and I crunched/linked the rest with a bit help over the phone..

Actually the demo was finished 8 hours before my plane to Lanzerote took off. So I hadn't really time to spread it. I did send a copy to Slammer directly addressed to 'Herning Messecenter' but I guess it never arrived. So when I got home from my holliday I had to make a lot of sendings to spread. After quite some hours my sending to 55 persons were finally ready to be spread.

But who cares about all this??? Let's have some information instead...

Ok, the name of the demo is ..Act Now.. and was set to be released at the x-mas party 1994 in Herning/Denmark...

It contains parts from various groups; which ones I will not reveal here, coz I think you should see the demo and find out yourselves. To pep up the demo it has been seasoned with pictures and quotations from various authors...

The code of the demo is of a rather various quality. But as said the entire time, then the primal intention with the demo was not to show hightech code or new world records, but to show our disrespect against the bad phenomenas: nazism and faschism..

And I think we succeeded big time. Yes I believe that the demo came out quite good in the end...

Say what.... Ya haven't even seen it!!!

Whaaaaat!!!! - Better get a hand on it and check it out Try to ask your usual contacts if they got it. If not then you should 'order' it by me at this addy :

  • BIZ KID/CAMELOT
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I would like to get some feedback on the demo from some of you out there. Either as a reaction, which I can bring in Skyhigh, or maybe as a demo-review in your own magazine...

Maybe there's someone out there who are interested in doing a kind of report/demoreview for this mag. If interested then send it to the addy above....

Many people have asked if there'll be a second demo in the anti-nazi serie!! Someone even asked if there would be an 'Anti communism'demo aswell. Well maybe... That's all I can say to that! Right now I don't feel like organizing a similar demo.. Just see how much work the first one required!! Well at least I suceeded, (that's more than you can say about D.O.T.Y. - sorry Zyron!! No offence.), but it was quite a struggle. So if there is going to be a sequal, then it has to someone else who organize it....

But I hope, (and think), that someone will take over from here!!

So who knows, maybe one day you will recieve :

ACT NOW 2

I, myself, has passed the ball on in the ballgame!

Ok time again to talk about something completely different...

TURNING BACK THE TIME.....

Yep turning back the time.... But not like that. What you are going to read now is an idea which I like to play with; and properbly the same goes for nearly everybody scener too!

Wouldn't it be cool to turn back the time to the very productive days in the late 80' ties?? Sure it would.. The good old days where hundreds of demos were released every month...

BUT..... what if we could turn back the time and keep the information we have today??

Sometimes I think like this : Damn it would be cool if I had these programs back then... And what if I had my 'talent' at that time??? Imagine this : One of my logos would have made it to the top back then. I would properbly have been the no. 1 gfx artist if had done these logos at that time.... (Because everybody only did 4 coloured 'logos' then.) So a simple 16 col. logo would be a sure winner...

The same goes for coding and music.. Imagine that almost any avarage coded routine would have shocked the scene and made you a top-demogroup.

Imagine that while all others where doing simple 1*1 scrollers + 4 col. logos, you would release filled, realtime vector routines... Damn you would be the cream of the crop.. Also the composers would have been legends. Compared to all others you would have proper instruments instead of some scratchy noises. Your drums would sound like drums really should, and not like throw-ups!!! Furthermore you could as the only one use multiplayer tunes... well doesn't that sound cool???

well I know that thinking like this is utopia, but still it's a nice thought, isn't it????

It's always nice to see yourself in that hero-role.. Eventhough it is only in your fantasy...

But seriously!!!! What if we really had the information of today at that time???? What would the demos look like today? Proberbly dozens of not-inventented rou tines were invented. And I even guess that the pc + amiga would play a small role compared to the c64 today... Wish thinking? Well yeah maybe, but it's a nice thought..... THINK ABOUT IT.. =-)

Well I guess, it's time to end this chapter before I fly away on a little cloud in my imaginary world... So I think it's time to say goodbye for now and see ya in another chapter.

A-b-c'ya..
