Skyhigh 14 ch04 RRR Says part 2

- rrr's chapter - part 2 -
- -- ---------------------------- -- -
a lot of interesting things happened du-
ring the past few weeks. a certain lamer
tried to sneak into our group, my acci-
dent, the lack of calling cards, and so
on. that is the reason for editing a 2nd
chapter this issue in order to present
some fair journalism compared with en-
tertaining, sarcastic sequences in order
to express my opinion as author. i know
that texts written in disk-magazines can
influence the readers so i kindly ask
you to compare all articles with the
content of other magazines, to prove the
facts and to make up your own opinion to
be sure about getting the best possible
supply while reading this magazine.
well, i have thought about the future of
this chapter, too. a lot of people might
feel offended while reading those lines
but be sure about that it is nothing
personal that motivated me to edit these
lines, it is one statement that is lea-
ding my behaviour: information wants to
be free. in my opinion an every reader
has the right to get informed without
reading a censored magazine. ofcause i
could easily stop causing trouble while
taking one or two stories out but would
this be fair? a lot of sceners are in
the need of the information written down
in the magazines and to make sure that
all people all over the world can be
sure of this i decided to edit all the
articles in order to supply you with
background information, information most
of today's magazines are not able to get
without the help of dozens of informers
who are often not very reliable.
the cbm 64 scene is only a hobby like
soccer is for me aswell. i do not spent
too much time infront of my both compu-
ters in comparison with the majority of
the scene even if it might looks like. i
think the scene is some kind of secret,
hidden world you can dive in if you like
to relax from the stress of the real
life, but it is definately no substitude
for it. spending a lot of years in the
scene makes me think about the time i
might have wasted but i do not think it
was wasted. i made a lot of experiences,
ofcause positive and negative ones, and
would like to present some examples:
a lot of guys are complaining about the
behaviour of the so-called elite guys so
they start to shout sentences like: that
elite guy thinks that he is cool but in
real life he seems to be a total loser.
here i would like to complain about the
person who said this. is it proved that
the elite guy is a loser in real life?
it is possible that the person that said
this wanted to hide his own faults in
order to gain some attention and to get
more known (=getting a better status in
the scene?)? it is proved that this per-
son is not a kind of loser in real life
and wants to get well known? is it possi
ble that this person is jealous on the
success of the elite guy?
unfairness is something that should be
hated not only from side. soccer can be
a fine sports until somebody is tackling
you and one of your legs got broken. ok,
that is a part of it, but wouldn't it be
more enjoyable without fouls? wouldn't
the scene be more enjoyable if everyone
would accept the status of the other men
and women around? ofcause there are al-
ways differences between the abilities
and knowledge but is it a reason to
attack each other? the problem is often
that most of the offences did not get
started from the so-called elite as they
do not need to gain more attention. most
offences got started from the small guys
to gain attention and to get more known.
don't you trust your own skills? don't
you think it is possible to climb the
ladder of success in a fair way? most of
today's elite are about four years in
the business so be sure that they have
more experience and knowledge due to
their work all over the years. this ex-
periences can't be made within a few
short months. it would be nice if some
of you start thinking about the previous
line and to send in your intention about
it.
after this endless monologue it it time
to continue with the business text.
- -- ---------------------------- -- -
- reaction to the tribune #47 -
- -- ---------------------------- -- -
at first i would like to add that i like
that magazine - atleast a little bit. it
makes me thinking about its' content -
and that is very important in my opinion
i am getting some inspirations if there
is something i would like to correct,
for the readerships' and for my very own
pleasure. i like to see the editorial of
the tribute reading and thinking about
my intentions presented in the skyhigh,
and i like to read their reactions. it
is by far a good thing for both sides as
there is always something to complain
and to discuss about. please keep always
in mind it is nothing personal, it is
the pleasure to discuss that motivates
me. atleast it is based onto a friendly
niveau and i hope we can hold up this
standart.
the endless discussion seems to become
a regular part of my chapter but as an
every story has two sides it is very
important to read and understand my ver-
sion in order to be updated and well in-
formed.
comparing the issues of two competeting
magazines in addiction to several disk-
notes spread around made me very inte-
rested in the hot tempered discussion.
my results can be checked while proving
the sources so this was a very objective
result in my opinion. maybe i prefered
to read the pulse magazine but the facts
are reality in my point of view.
furthermore the outfit of both magazines
has been judged on the programm code,
the graphics and the musics. the menues
of both magazines look very simple but
useful. the only things to mention here
are that the graphic in the pulse was
much better (drawn by kring/camelot) but
the charset used was hard to read. that
reaction came from the majority aswell.
the text display routine in the pulse is
offering fullscreen proportional charset
texts while the tribune used an average
40 chars wide upscroller (like this one)
what is no big deal in my eyes. fact is,
from the eye of an editor, that the or-
dinary 40 chars display routine is much
more user-friendly while editing the
chapters as i have experience with so-
called proportional charset editors of
"vandalism news", "update", "news press"
and "relax". in comparison with those
editors i really enjoy to work with this
utility, the texteditor v2.0 created by
dagger of atrix, which offers everything
to guarantee the possible options to
edit texts on cbm 64.
the music in the pulse was in my opinion
better then the musics used in the tri-
bune so far but this seems to be a sub-
ject where we will never come to a sa-
tisfying result. i guess taste is diffe-
rent and that might be the reason for it
so there is nothing to be cleared up. by
the way, i have not only refered to the
last two issues of tribune when i repor-
rted about ripped musics. to inform the
readers it is important to publish my
statements correctly.
just to reflect your intention about the
musics used in skyhigh i have to point
out that musicians get a chance to pre-
sent their work to a bright mass of rea-
ders, an audience that unknown composers
maybe would not reach with their musics
being used in their own productions only
so they have the chance to become more
popular and to earn some votes.
we care about the musical background as
we are checking all soundtracks before
they are going to be used as they have
to reach a standart in order to come up
to the level of the skyhigh.
not only unknown musicians but a lot of
well known musicians started to compose
a lot of excellent tunes for our maga-
zine so far, like i.e. red devil/fair-
light, the syndrom/tia/crest, pri/tia/
oxyron, peace/noice, echo/equinoxe, only
to name a few.
to complete this i would like to add
that we are spreading all the tracks as
external files in order that our readers
are able to use them into their diskno-
tes and that the composers are getting
more and more known, do not forget the
attention they are gaining with their
tunes being spread in a well-spread ma-
gazine. that is ofcause only possible if
there is some memory left on the disk.
it is a special service for our readers
that they are able to choose one of the
tracks they prefer so they are not for-
ced to listen to a track that comes up
to our taste.
here i would like to reflect your atten-
tion to "tunehigh", dedicated to all the
musicians that supported "skyhigh" all
over the issues, released in order to
celebrate their work.
here i would like to request very kindly
who is ripping off the musicians?
concerning your graphics problem i liked
to read your intention about me drawing
some graphics for your magazine. as you
can see in all of my adverts in the se-
veral diskmagazines i am selling (game-)
graphics for reasonable prices. samples
of my work can be judged in magazines
like "vandalism news" and "domination"
and in actual intros from "alpha flight"
and in forthcoming productions from well
known groups like "palace" and "dytec"
only to name a few. do not forget the
soon coming oxyron demonstrations on
the cbm 64 and on the amiga!
without any doubts your graphical level
would rise. i hope you won't misunder-
stand the previous lines but everything
has its price these days and due to the
fact that my car got destroyed i am in
the need of money. no hard feelings! at
the moment i am very busy with creating
game graphics for atleast for games so i
definately have no sparetime left for
non-commercial graphics these days.
ofcause i do not expect the readership
sharing my ideas and intentions but i
use this media to inform everyone in the
cbm 64 about unregularities in this
scene that used to be much better some
years ago. the information i am going
to place here are ofcause in many opi-
nions very subjective but here i would
like to recall you that there is defi-
nately no objective magazine around. al-
ways keep in mind that the magazines are
edited by groups and all the groups are
using their magazine to present their
propaganda and the spread their opinion
to manipulate the readership!
to come to an end i would like to advice
you not missing the follow-ups in the
next issues of both magazines, as this
discussion might never end.
- -- ---------------------------- -- -
- h/p stuff - are you interested in? -
- -- ---------------------------- -- -
well, like said in the previous chapter
i own around 10 mb of text sources about
hacking and phreaking and i am thinking
about releasing some old but very inte-
resting textfiles.
the content of the files was found out
by the pioneers of hacking and phreaking
and gives you a general view about that
business without diving to deep into the
history of h/p, that means i would not
spread actual calling card numbers or
actual frequncies in order support some
sceners to lead them into the illegal
busines.
some of the textfiles reach back up to
1984 while there are others, like the
one about how to use calling cards that
got leeched this summer.
if you are interested in that kind of
text in your favourite magazine just let
us know so that we (the skyhigh staff)
are able to come up to your wishes.
- -- ---------------------------- -- -
finally, after around 200 blocks of text
from my side it is time to say good-bye
and to remember you to be sure about re-
loading this chapter in the next issues
of skyhigh, too.
best regards,
rrr/oxyron
