  > ^ mamba

  h ^ hannes sommer
  k ^ karli (mc lord)

                     push it...

  > : could you please introduce your-
      selves !?

h : my name is hannes sommer, i'm
1,82 meters tall, my weight is
      about 75kg...and this is brother
      karli, who's...

k : hey, i can say this on my own!

  h : so go ahead !

  k : i'm karli, 186 meters tall, my
      weight is 73kg and i'm 2 years
      younger than hannes.

  > : so what's your age ?

  h : sorry, i'll celebrate my 18th
birthday in one month and karli
is just 16, and he can say this
      on his own!

  > : tell us something about cosmos
      designs !

h : after ssd left, there was no
power in cosmos anymore! arny and
i were working on our first game
      called 'd.i.s.c.', and while
antitrack never gave up and tried

to keep the good old times, we
      founded cosmos designs.
'designs' was just the sign for
      legality.

  > : how did your group become famous,
      what is your favourite coder,
      musician ?

  h : our first mega-demo, which was
released at the radwar v4 party,
included lots of new routines and
did show parts full of new
      effects...this was our breakthru
      i think. favourite coders ?

hmm... times ago i admired olav
      morkrid (ed. omega supreme) and
his 'pimples' - now i'm my own
      idol...

k : big mouth, brother! my favourite
      composer is maybe thomas mogensen
(who is in the fine situation to
      use the jch-player, which is
      probably the best around(hi jens!
got it ? maybe you can send me
      the editor some time...?! ))

  > : can you give us a short
description of the games you are
      doing ?

  k : we've finished 3 games and two
      more are actually in progress...

  > : why do you code demos/make music?

h : why do you read books...watch tv,
      play soccer...go dancing...???

k : i enjoy it, it's fun to try my
best on a machine using only 3
voices, 8 bit, low memory !

  > : do you have any hobbies besides
      computing ?

k : mainly playing guitar and
training my body in the fitness-
      center...

  h : which body ?

k : this body i'll use soon to punch
      you down!

  h : no hard words boy! i'm still 1cm
      taller than you...

k : a knock on your head would change
      it!

  > : ok, hannes, what's about your
      hobbies ?

h : hockey, billiard and snooker...
      ...giving interviews...(ahem)

  > : who are your friends/enemies in
      the scene ?

h : hello to arny, panther, hermes,
      jch, att, georg bo-sky, thunder..

k : i only know my own folks in cd
and some buddies from radwar v5,
but i'm sure we've got no enemies

h : noone would dare to open his
      mouth against us, because karli
      would knock him down !

  k : right so!

  > : are you angry or do you feel
      offened, because your demo
      'cosmail' got a bad valuation
      in the mamba< demo-reviews ?

h : hmmm, i did some of my best code,
so it was a bit frustating, maybe
it was also blackmail's fault ?!

  k : there's no reason to feel
offended, musics got over 80% !

  > : could you give us a short survey
about the scene in austria ?

  h : there's no real cracking-scene...
but we've got lots of good coders
here. what i miss are graphic-
      and music-groups.

  > : have you been in other groups
      beside cosmos ?

  h : before i joined cosmos i lamed
      around for two years...

  k : i'm only for 10 months in the
      scene...

  > : your favourites, please !

  h : hannes karli

      food : toast wiener schni.
      drink: water juice
      movie:'die jogger' tango & cash
      book : 64'er intern ???
      demo : pimple squ.6 ???
      game : armalyte def. of/crown
      music: europe pink floyd
      girl : gudrun nadine

  k : i'm really glad i haven't got the
      same taste for girls...

h : ...better to have a girl friend
      like nadine living in germany,
so that you meet her once a year,
      or what ???

  > : do you regret anything concerning
      computer, do you think you'll
retire from the scene ? what will
      your future look like ?

  h : i don't regret anything and i
      hope that cosmos-designs will

      produce the hottest game-smashers
      in the future...

  k : 'think the same.

  > : a last word ?

h : come to austria and visit
      klagenfurt...

k : let the good times rock !

  >...thank you guys...

now is an interview with crumbsucker
 of ex.fantasy. interviewed by bod.
 m: mamba c: crumbsucker
 --------------------------------------
m: tell us something about yourself?

c: my name is stan.i am 155 pounds,
around 5ft 11 tall and 21 years old
i was born in russia and we moved
to the usa in 1979. i got my c64
in 1986 and got into the elite
scene in 1988. i am presently going
to college and i am majoring in
    international marketing.

m: how did you get started in the
    scene?
c: i started off calling local boards
at 300 baud. i got onto one elite
local board and found out about
    phreaking. with some help from
    mangar (ex.nec) i started calling
other elite out of state boards.

m: tell me a bit about 'channel zero'
    your old bbs?

c: i put the board up in the fall of
1989 and it was called "darkside
bbs" and i was the headquarters for
    falcon. then after falcon changed
there names to culture i was there
hq. i became friends with technique
and he asked me to be fantasy hq.
c: i agreed and renamed the board to
"channel zero." after i had some
    disagreements with culture i moved
over to action and was fantasy and
    action hq.

m: what do you think about the scene
today compared to the scene of a
    year or so ago?

c: well, it is really different. there
are to many lamers getting access
on the good boards. there are to
few good american's left and the
ones that are around really have to
    big ego's.

m: if you could change something in
the scene what would it be and why?

c: i would provably try to get more
    good americans calling boards and
    actually doing things like fixing
and coding. most of the good ones
    went amiga or quit.

m: do you own an amiga yourself?

 c: no i don't and i probably never
will get one. it would be a waste
of money as everything i would use
the amiga for i already can do on
the 64. i never have times to play
    games.
m: where did you get your handle?

c: well, when i first got my modem
one of my friends stayed over to
show me how to use it. he called
and applied on a local bbs and
asked me what handle to use. i was
    half asleep and just said
    crumbsucker (after the hard core
    band.)

m: tell me some of your favourites?

c: movies: evil dead 2, jacobs ladder
            and monty pythongs holy
            grail.

c: music: hard core/puck and rap.
    food: chinese.
drink: jolt (a high caffeine drink)
    sport: baseball.

m: have you any regrets about your
    years on the c64?

c: yes i do. running a board i had to
put up with a lot of lamers who
would wardial my bbs line a lot.
    and dealing with certain people
    like technique.

m: what do you do in your spare time?

 c: i am in a band so i spend a lot of
c: time rehearsing. i go out and watch
movies and hang out with my
    girlfriend.

m: what are your plans for the future?

c: to graduate from college. maybe
i'll put my bbs back up, if there's
a demand. but, i will be calling
out as long as the c64 is alive.

m: tell me some things you dislike?

c: i mainly dislike people who claim
to bethings they are not. i hate
hangovers, girls who play hard to
    get and especially lamers.
m: tell us your definition of a lamer?

c: someone who is 15 and under. who
talks a lot of shit about things
they no nothing about and has no
life away from the c64. and people
who keep talking about how great
esi were 3/4 years after they died.

m: is there anything you would like to
    say before we finish?

c: i think more people should start to
think and act for themselves. there
are to many people here in the
states who continue to talk real
big on the boards and when you get
c: to speak to them voice it's obvious
in real life they are nothing like
    they claimed.

m: is there anyone you want to greet?

c: greetings to everybody who ever
    called my board.

m: ok thanks for your time stan.

 c: thank you.
