now i will give you a little view
  into the amiga-scene...

i am sure many of you already have
an amiga or are even in a group.
therefor i won't list all the groups
  etc.
there are only some groups which
releases about 80% of all the games
  first, these groups are quartex,
  paranoimia and vision factory.
vf lost a little bit of his former
strength as the cologne members quit.
  other good cracker-groups are oracle,
  paradox,mad and some others !
                                    (+)

but the main topic of this article
isn't the question of the best or
worst, but the question for the
  sense of this scene.

it's mainly money which stamps this
scene as it's a question of money to
get the games fast and to release
  first.
so most of the groups invest a lot of
money to get the games first, not
only buying them in the shops, but
they try to get them before the
  official release-date.
but they don't need the money only

for that reason, but also a lot of
other things have to be paid, for
  example the crackers :
the best crackers earn a lot of
money for a crack or monthly, so it's
  nothing special when a cracker
doesn't really belong to a group,
but to the group who is just paying
  for the work.

another point is that many first
versions doesn't work! if you get a
first version from a bbs it often
  doesn't work, because it's 'cracked'
  miserable. sometimes, when it depends

on only some hours if it's a first-
release, the group uploads the game
  without removing the protection,
and, the not working game stays on
the bbs, as long as anybody takes
this version and crackes it !
in my opinion many guys aren't in
that scene for fun, but for getting
a lot of money as some guys of famous
groups make up to 6000 dollars a
  month by selling stuff !

i know many people who quit the amiga
scene because of these reasons and
some of them returned to the c64!

from my point of view there's really
  nothing attractive in the amiga-
scene and although i like to play
  amiga-games i wouldn't join this
  'broken' scene...
