welcome! well, you maybe read this
chapter last time. i told about what i
thought about the old scene. and what we
could do to improve the scene with new
things.

well,i received a reaction on my article
which i thought was good enough for
publishing :

you may ask why i (SLAYER/THE REMEBERS)
leave you some mail. nope it isn't for
swapping. it is just because about your
article in the latest jamaica where you
wrote something about "the future"...

you asked for some reactions and here
is one from me...

at first you talked about the mystic of
some groups. the leading groups in 1988-
1991 or better let me say "past", were
fairlight, legend, genesis project,
illusion, crest, triad and maybe some
more where active. but you are right
most of them are quite unactive nowdays!

you spoke about the mystic and legend
of those old groups and that as you get
in contact with one of those groups you
got a better standard of swapping. yes,
indeed this is true. but do you really
think it isn't the same thing nowdays?

ask some real newcomers and give them
the chance about a pal in oxyron or
crest!

they would be quite happy!

i must say,the main thing is the same,
you get better known and so on if you
have some pals in the leading groups!

but today the real "elite" is too easy
to reach!

i remember some years ago. it was in the
year of 1990 when i started to get a bit
knowledge of the scene. i got a neigh-
bour called highlander/ex.compagnions
and he showed me lots of stuff and told
me alot about the scene and its rules.

after some thinking i started swapping
abit. but i never reached the real elite
these days.

it was impossible because of no answers
and the "elite" thinking, there was too
much fight of being elite and so on..

but what do i say, i think you probably
know about it. these days i had real
problems to get cool stuff(+1days or so)
real good addies or boardnumbers.

then i stopped all swapping and started
back in the beginning of the last year
(1993) and what happened?

guess, it was too easy to find some cool
pals, the thinking of elite was over.
the scene changed without my knowledge.

more friendship came and 0 days stuff
wasn't that important anymore. strange?

nope, too many young and new guys
entered(like me!) and the real elite was
doing there job until now. i guess the
whole real scene moved to the boards,
didn't they?

you said that the days of "the elite"
is over and that it's good. nope in my
opinion not!

because when the hard rules and charts
was very important everyone tried to
release as much as possible and tried to
around as fast as possible.

nowdays it isn't like this i think.
for example i have got a swapper in a
leading cracking group as pal. he
supplys me the crack of anything about
1 week after it was on the boards!! far
too long. no one is interested anymore.
in the past it was spreadest as fast as
possible, wasn't it?

the whole thinking of being the best
animated everyone to do his best. much
more demos were released and so on.
i remember that i went to my neighbour
nearly every evening and i got about 5
disx full of new and really hot stuff!
today i get the same a week! strange
isn't it?

i think because of no elite thinking,
guys get lazy. no matter if we release
it today or in 2 weeks....
who carez?

i care, because of this opinion everyone
gets lazy and no one wants to do
anything. quite silly!

sometimes i think it is much better to
have the old rulez!

but now something other, you talked
about the old legends, triad and so on.
there were some guyz you showed up to.
interesting but you said you are in for
about 5 years or so, aren't you?

so, do you ever thought that you maybe
are the person that some others are
looking at today?

some time ago it was mr.z from triad
and the snacky/g*p, spitfire/action
and how they are named. but today other
people took over the leading postion.

the oldies are gone. you got the place
now! think about tabasco. you know him
i think. he got the offer to join
fairlight, everyone will do it if he get
this cool offer. this group is cult, too
but now not others are the sign for
fairlight, not others are the guys to
look at, he is it now, he is now in the
group of legendary!

so he can't look at someone really coz
he realy reached the top! think about
this pleez!

       i devided the scene into:

1. top. real legends and producing
   groups.

2. wants to be cool but are not that
   good, normal scene i would say.

3. beginners, start. guys and groups
   who aren't wellknown but they give
   their best.

i hope you noticed what i mean if you
ever reached the top you are no.1 and
can' look up to anyone, you must think
about hardly!

the next thing is that the mass
producing of stuff for our good old
machine(games) is over!

so, don't wonder about the cracking
services....

i remember those demos for the game on
and magic disk games:

     "do us a favor and don't crack
          those lame games..."

  (if i think right it was a g*p demo?)

nowadayz half the crax i see are those
cp-verlag ones and this are all game on
and magic disk games originally.

maybe you know super nibble, salvia kid,
bobix, fred's back 1,2,3 for example.

the illegal scene is dying coz of a
lack of originals and so on....

but the legal scene,is just doing
nothing also the whole knowledge is
growing!

this is the fact i mentioned some lines
ago, the thinking of "we have too much
time". let it delay who carez?
the past showed that both illegal and
legal scene gave their best to kick our
asses!

but you noticed yourself, legal stuff is
rare, only mags and mags and more mags.
sometimes i get about 3 discs only mags!
must that be?

what is about one major mag concerning
from 3 mags? much better.....

well, first of all i haven't been in the
scene for 5 years. only around 3 years
but i bought my first c64 for around 5
years ago.

that maybe changed our opinion about me
but i hope not.

you said that the elite was too easy to
reach these days. i think i know why.
because the sceners that are active
today are what you could call the second
generation. we have all been treated by
the elite. and because we knew how hard
it was when we were new in the scene.
then we are not that hard to the new-
comers these days.

but as always there can be exceptions.

and this thing leads to the "we have
all time in the world" syndrome. and yes
i have thought about the thing that i
could be a dude that someone looks up
to. it may be possible.

people in poland or hungary maybe call
jam an elite group while other people
which have been in the scene longer
think we are lamers.

         EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE!
