----------------------------------------
i'm not a person that can see into the
future but i have something to say!

when i bought my c64 in'89 i didn't know
anything about the scene and what it
was. but after some years of playing i
got more and more knowledge about the
scene. later i joined my first group.
and then jam and everything just went
by.

now i'm sitting here in mid april 1994.
nearly 5 years since i bought my first
computer. i have moved some holes up on
the famous ladder. i must say that the
scene have changed since i joined it.

the thrill is gone. the scene have
become an "everyday-life". i'm not that
little swapper without a group and just
5 contacts. and know that you feel the
same things. the fun in the scene will
die slowly but surely every year. but
for me i hope that it always will be
there.

i have discussed this thing with TABASCO
and he said: MY GODS ARE DEAD!

i think i can agree with him.
for example when you have contact with
legend groups like TRIAD and FAIRLIGHT,
you have moved up a bit. you ain't that
little swapper anylonger. this is where
all the thrill disappear. you are
respected by someone that you have
admired. but for me triad and fairlight
will always be legends, who have been
around as long as i have used my c64.

i could go on like this in hours but i
just don't feel for it right now. but
the scene is a fascinating thing. maybe
i will write something about that in
further issues.

well, how can we get the thrill back in
the scene. in the cracking scene i don't
have anything to say, but in the demo
scene i have been wondering.

why not rip the amiga once more.
           why not start make:

               40K INTROS!

but we make them on the c64 so we have
some own rules. just one file and you
could load it on any c64 without any
problem.

have you seen KREDKI by AGONY? that is
nearly a 40k intro. and nearly all parts
was ripped from amiga demos.

soon we can't improve the routines any-
more so why not start with this. the
fact is that they already started on
amiga.

remember: everything you can do on amiga
you can also do on c64. (almost!)

the crunchers will have a bigger role
in the demo scene by this. as the better
crunchers the better demos.

i was at a party during the easter.
mainly a amiga/pc/atari party but i
brought my computer just to have if i
got tired of the amigas!
anyway, i talked with some atari dudes.
they where on falcon. and when i
mentioned that i had a c64. then they
really wanted to see some demos. so i
showed some demos from tcc'93, as they
saw some there and they were very
amazed about this little computer.

later i showed some demos from the party
'93. and the things they got most
excited about was the realtime zooming
fractal in coma light 11 and the 72
faces glenz vector in tower power.

nearly everything i showed got them
confused. also the amiga users.

the strange thing was that they didn't
think it was possible to do SHADEBOBS!
the falcon'ers even said that it must be
a VSP in the c64!!

this proves that the c64 still rules!

we maybe think so just because it our
computer. but on the other computers
everything is improving. always new
things you must support. i'm glad i
ain't coder on amiga. no standard at all

well, i think we got of the track abit!
but if you are bored and want to have
fun. invite some demo-coders on other
computers. (who know how to code, and no
gameplayers.) and show them some
demos. you'll have fun i can assure you!

but we can't just look back.. we must
improve too. so why not think about the
40k intro thing. but we must have an own
name on it! the simpliest name must be
64k intro, but that's not good, is it?
do you have any other suggestions?

also remember that the c64 dies when we
       stop doing something on it!

        thanks for your attention
