Jamaica 01 ch03 Interview

               interview


in this first issue it's only one inter-
view, but maybe it will be more in the
future issues. this interview is quite
old but i hope you like it.

?: -tell us something about yourself.

!: -hmm, ok.. my real name is erik and
    i live in a city in the north of
    sweden called boden. i'm 17 years
    old (born in 1974). i have brown
    hair, glasses and i'm around 1.84 m
    tall. my weight is around 65 kilos.
    by the way, if you ever meet me you
    will notice that i'm allways wearing
    DOBBER jeans!!!


?: -in which groups have you been before
    you joined acrise?
!: -before i joined acrise i have been
    in a uk group called THE LOST SOULS
    (hi al!) but as this group died last
    summer i joined the swedish group
    MANIAX. after some mounths in maniax
    i got the offer to join the rebuilt
    ACRISE and so i did! i've been in
    acrise for around 9 months now and
    i'm not planning to leave!

?: -when did you bought your C64 and
    when did you get into the scene?

!: -eeh... hmm! i'm not very proud to
    say that i bought c64 just precise
    2 years ago. so, i played games for
    a half year or so until i got the
    idea to start swapping. (my friend
    TRASHER started the hole thing.)
    well, after some months in the
    business without any real group i
    joined TLS in april 1991. we could
    say that was then i got into the
    scene for real. atleast i started
    to get a bit known...

?: -are you LAME?

!: -lame? hehe, this is a funny question
    well, some guys like JUCKE/GENESIS
    would absolutly demand the answer:
    yes!! but that's jucke ofcourse...
    honestly, i don't think i'm lame.
    i'm not ELITE, atleast not if you
    count elite as in the modem-scene.
    but i don't care much about the word
    elite anymore. those that a majority
    of people think is the elite is the
    elite and the same counts for lamers
    i guess! and as most guys think that
    i'm ok i guess that i'm not a lamer.
    hehe, very long answer to a simple
    question! (ed. yeah, lame!! <joke)

?: -what do you think about that some
    coders says that swappers are lamers
    that it's so simple to be a swapper
    and so on?

!: -the guys that really think that
    swappers are lame does not deserve
    a place in the scene. i really hate
    when i hear these kinda rubbish. we
    are all in this scene for the fun of
    it! (atleast i am...) on the other
    hand, a swapper is not productive.
    a crew built on only swappers is not
    a real group so coders are definitly
    needed for the scene, but you can
    also think about that when all
    swappers and traders is gone there
    won't be any scene left! so at the
    end, everyone is needed, productive
    or not.

?: -do you think that the c64 is a
    computer? how long do you think that
    the scene will be as big as today?

!: -if this is the death of the c64 as
    some says, then i say to them:
   "we have allready proved that there's
    life after death!" see what i mean?
    this computer is not dead until we
    want it to die. ofcourse, if the
    illegal scene would die totally then
    i think that many guys will loose
    much of the fun. but with raising
    sells of 64's and games to the 64 i
    think that this is still a problem
    of the furure.

?: -how many contacts do you have and do
    you have some other functions than
    swapper in acrise?

!: -i guess that i have around 75-80
    contacts. it's not very much, but i
    don't want so very much more as the
    swapping would get too massive and
    boring then. as i'm the only one in
    ACRISE that own a modem i'm also the
    modem-spreader for acrise eventhough
    i'm not a very big one, especially
    not in the states! also i could add
    that i'm the hq acrise/sweden, but
    this is not very important as we
    have no real leaders in acrise any-
    more.

?: -what do you think of DISC-MAGS? do
    you read'em?

!: -ahh.. everybody is saying that there
    is too many of them, and i surely
    agree.. ok, the mags themselves is
    not the worst thing. the worst thing
    is all the fucken votesheets that
    you have to spread, fill in, write
    news + addy on and send back! i'm
    getting pretty sick of it! ok i read
    many mags, but i rather look at cool
    demos.. the few mags that i always
    read are: MEGA MADNESS, SHOCK, CORR-
    UPTION, BANANA/POTATO NEWS and FATAL
    NEWS.


?: -greet your BEST pals in the scene.

!: -ok, here's the lucky ones:

    ...the whole acrise-crew. (rainer,
    tim, igor, marcus, artur, jonas,
    ruud.. etc.) i love you all guys!
    with this team we're immortal!!
    ...trasher/active (a real cool
    cracker and my best friend for ages)
    ...dr.pain/intruders ( a very cool
    beerloving pal of mine... hehe!!)
    ...JAM. (wolverine,bumboo,mac)
    simply cool friends all of them, but
    especially wolverine deserves to be
    mentiones. allways cool meetings!
    ...+ all other coolies like royal,
    trident, surfer, kenneth i piteå,
    whisper, tech, deadbone, streethawk,
    design, ravage, wingo... and in and
    on....!!!
