elcome to the rubric called MISHMASH, containing all kind of different serious, funny, strange, cool, etc things. this month we've got the true facts about CHARLES DEENEN and MANIACS OF NOISE, based upon a story which was written in culture's paper-mag SHOCK #2. ------------------------------- last venlo meeting (augustus 1990) one of our staff-writers showed an article to CHARLES DEENEN which concerned him and his behaviour. we from "CORRUP- TION" know him well and we already knew that a few of the written "facts" are false. we asked him to tell us the REAL FACTS about everything. we do NOT want to kiss his ass, but we just want to prove that stories like this are NOT neccesary (unless they are totally true !!). every GOOD magazine does a lot of research before they come up with wild- west stories. all the following statements have been checked by us. all quoted text are the real answers: first the story about the synthesizer performance. "C.D said he had agreed to come if all expenses should be payed and if JEROEN TEL wanted to go as well. after a chat with jeroen we laughed about such a silly question (who want to play on a stupid copy party for almost nothing ??). but c.d felt sorry for this little kid and said jeroen and he would come. c.d said they kept on ringing (who would take them serious ??) and had to come up with some excuses. luckily (??) jeroen had a motor-cycle accident a day before this so called party and this was our excuse. indeed jeroen didn't have a scratch (although he had a sore hand), but who cares ??" now the adjusted and corrected "facts" which pim wrote: "c.d made a routine on the C64, AMIGA, ATARI ST, NINTENDO GAME-BOY and NINTENDO GAME- CONSOLE. the c64 routine was in no way ripped from any other existing routine. we don't care about you thinking or telling it, but just for the record. the raster-time was big because of the less time c.d had spend on writing it. if JEROEN wanted to have a new extension in the routine this had to be done quickly, so no time was left to do any improvements. also the routine was totally built in a way to accept other data from other play-routines and to work as quick as possible with it in certain assemblers. C.D wrote an amiga-driver which was reasonable (it did the work). M.O.N got more and more orders in that time to do music for amiga. c.d hired a guy called FREDERIC HAHN. after doing several try-outs he agreed with c.d that he did not qualify to do music for M.O.N. after a while frederic rang c.d asking him to do the music for UNREAL. frederic also said c.d had to use his routine for it. c.d (and R.O) used frederic's routine to do the ingame tunes. frederic afterwards agreed that c.d could use his routine to do future planned pieces. c.d also improved the player on some points and at the moment frederic is writing an editor for the play-routine. all that crap about hiring frederic, getting legal rights and kicking is pure nonsense. ring frederic hahn if you have any doubt about this. sound-fx- play routines were written by c.d". "C.D never kicked JEROEN TEL out of M.O.N., but it was time to split up. jeroen was getting slow (it took him 4 months to do BAD BLOOD music) and c.d got tired of all the responsibilities and all the paper-work (most of the time until late at night). jeroen indeed made a new player for the c64, but this one was designed to forfill jeroen's needs only. yes, this means shorter raster-time, but it had nothing to do whether jeroen needed c.d or not". "SHOCK magazine stated that c.d never had any contracts with software companies. at this time C.D picked some contracts out of an index and showed them to us. MANIACS OF NOISE was a registered firm (unless some so called music-companies like LORDS OF SONICS). it is useless for stupid 16 year old kids to sign contracts. they aren't legal anyway. the reason why M.O.N was a legal firm is not the software industry, but the company's presentation video's. video- production firms want to be insured of delivery. if you're not registered (in holland one has to registered at the cham- bers of trade "KAMER VAN KOOP- HANDEL") they can't execute any contract in case of non- delivery etc. software com- panies want to be insured that one delivers the music (or soundeffects) within the given time-limit. if one fails, they can declare all the costs they had. in other words: M.O.N. had to pay for delivery screw- ups. also these contracts secured us of being paid. if companies are not willing to pay their debts, you can ask for total sell-out of such a firm, but only in case you're a registered firm as well. oh, anyone out there who is still thinking c.d. made this story up, ask c.d if you can see some contracts. he'll show them to you. if pim is familiar with all the leading software firms, he must know of the contracts and agreements. ask software firms like MICORPHOSE,DINAMIC, ORIGIN,INTERPLAY,HEWSON etc. they will tell you all the details about it. yeah pim, life is a bitch, or not...." "the choice of music depends on the taste of development manager. their is only one software firm who let the programmer decide what he wants; DOUBLE DENSITY. but off course, our LITTLE PIM/LOUDNES made a trillion soundtracks for games and knows all the details. it is true that the choice of music depends on the budget from the software firm, but that's a lucky guess." "a long time ago, c.d did his music editing with a P.C, using a modified p.d.s system. but after 3 weeks it was more a pain in the ass than any help, so everything has been sold to somebody in venray, holland. name and address can be obtained by c.d" "in the end NERD PIM wrote something about soundeffects on the c64. he said c.d does not know how his routine works and that the effects are based upon pure luck. well, we don't know if pim has counted all the soundeffects c.d made in last few years, but the number is more than 2000. if somebody did more than 2000 good soundeffects, you have to admit that such a person knows what he's doing. although most unnatural complex sfx are test and trial soundeffects, everyone who has done soundfx for games knows that the ring-modulated sounds are the difficultiest ones to do, especially when you just start experimenting with them. but why should ZZAP c64-magazine write "this sword-clang is the best thing i've heard on the c64 so far, it's even better than the BARBARIAN one" in their 'MYTH' review if c.d did it 'just on pure luck'. but just in case; anyone who wants to know exactly how the c64 routines work can write to c.d and ask. if pim obtained the info about this from R.OUWEHAND than it's not his fault. indeed c.d didn't know exactly anymore how the c64 play-routine worked when explaining it to the kiddo r.ouwehand. if you keep in mind that he didn't do any work on the c64 since a YEAR, it's not such a miracle. everybody who's interested can buy the soundeffect and music- editor from DIGITAL MARKETING starting from november 1st. off course the player is the same thing as always, but the editor is something completely different this time. both editors are designed to make full use of the c64, and giving you every option you need. examples: none of the editors until now had a function to save the source- code of a player and the data to an assembler. this time it's not you being a slave of an editor, but the editor being a total slave from you!! please ask any further details to DIGITAL MARKETING GERMANY". if any disk/paper-magazine wants to write a beefy story about any person and which is in any way false, just forget it. CORRUPTION will write the real background story again !! also if any disk/paper magazine get hold of a "story", please CHECK IT OUT first and try to ask honest people if it's true or not. hey shock, if this pim person is polite, let him make excuses to c.d. a couple of other facts: - C.D is going to work for a firm called INTERPLAY (pro- ducers of games like battle chess and dragon wars) doing players, music, game-routines etc. on all available home- computer and game-console formats (mainly fm-towns, p.c nintendo and cd-tv). - JEROEN TEL is going to work for a firm called ICONOTEK doing music and games for a new gaming-system called PRIVATE EYE. he is going to a 2 month course first to learn the new hardware. - JOHANNES BJERREGAARD is doing music on amiga for his friends only. he's also playing in a JAZZ BAND, so if you're in kopenhagen (denmark), visit one of the jazz-clubs in town. MANIACS OF NOISE STOPS ALL ACTIVITIES ON THE 30TH OF OCTOBER IN THE COMPUTER-SCENE. maniacs of noise will have a name-change in the video-promo world. watch out for the new style in house music called 'FLY-HOUSE'. first hit single will be 'this job ain't done' by the BOYS NEXT DOOR. ready for release in mid september. ------------------------------- to all magazines: please check first all facts before relea- sing stories which are not true. others don't release such a story. it's just for the mags own advantage. ------------------------------- so...here is the rest of the addresses.as you have already read there was no memory left for the wanted corner !!! (removed) now an article by HELTER- SKELTER / ATG : lamer group at large -------------------- a new lamer group out -> FLOP ! yeah...you can guess what this motto is ...'our name says it all'. now i've seen groups such as LRU and LOP put out so-so up to date (meaning the current year wares). but the lamers in flop are really lame as you can also probably guess.yes,they use lame INTRO-MAKERS and not like lru or even lop these lamers in flop not only rerelease wares but they release shit that is two and three years old.not to mention shitty shoot'em up games ! only in america you say ? well,if that is the case,for god's sake,don't even move here or plane to live here for that. but seriously why would anyone want to be labeled a lamer,let alone he in,or associated with a lame group ? the answer then lies within these lame BASTARDS who.... 1)claim they are elite. 2)try to do us a favour by re- releasing shit already out. puh...give us a break,people like this (as lame as flop) should be shot. why did god waste such good recycable flesh on people like this ? i guess we'll never know,but until then...don't waste your time by d/l flop shit because their name says it all !!!
