          "THE SCENE... TODAY!"

              by tch/brutal

----------------------------------------
hello and for the first time i'm happy
to bring you this new chapter called
  "the scene... today!"...
in this chapter i will talk about
  different things which have occured
in the good old c64 scene...

this time i will discus the matter of
  the "BUDGET LABELS"...
as you all have noticed, the amount of
  budget labels,cheap release-labels of
  cracking-groups that only release the
  lame games,has increased enormously!
you can almost find them on every
  spreaddisk sent out lately...
  names like;burp,troep,lutschers and
many many more conquer the disks!!
it looks fucking much like a trend
  than just a joke!!
it's ofcourse funny to use these lame
release labels, but is it really of any
  good to the scene?!
if we look at the intros then you'll
notice that the quality is very low
and that it are sort of SHORT INTROS!
the shorties were finally slowing down
with the death of the GAMERS GUIDE,but
as this mag returns soon, this might
  mean a totaly new trend...
all these short intros won't bring the
scene any good at all as we need the
  coolness of everything...
to keep the scene cool, there shouldn't
be any bad things in it!!
it's just like a box of fruit!
if there's a bad one it will get its
  hands on the good fruit!

now there is another question...
when is a game so bad to release it
  under the budget-labels?!?
some guys say that game on and double
density games are lame, but what do you
think of "BLACK PANTHER" or what about
  "LETHAL ZONE"???
these are a 'game on' and a d.d. game!
also "ANOTHER WORLD" was from double
  density!!
okay! they were not released by a big
software company like ocean or u.s.
  gold...
but these games are certainly cool!!
as you can see,it doesn't really
matter from which company the games
  come...
and if nobody likes a game then why
  would any company release it!
  every game,released by a company,is
probably liked by someone,so is it up
to you to say it sucks!?!
  i don't think so...

well, just see for yourself if you still
want to continue or start with a cheap
label or just let it be...
