Skyhigh 12 ch15 Oxyron Intern
From C64 Diskmag Wiki
oxy - intern ---------------------------------------- oxyron intern part iii ---------------------------------------- this time it's nobody else then rrr in- troducing himself to the cbm 64 scene. it started somewhere in the eighties, when something new appeared under the christmas trees of my classmates, a volkscomputer called cbm 64. after visi- ting some friends and some sleepness nights i decided to get that machine, too. this happened in 1985. after a rather inactive time when i co- ded some useless basic files i started to observe the happenings of the scene in 1987. i got major interested in those "fantastic" sound-graphic-scroller demos trademark various democreators. after failing in becoming a talented coder and musician there was only one thing left - painting graphics. my first steps have been made with the legendary koala painter, but that pro- gramm was not the nonplusultra in my opinion. later on i started to draw with paint magic, one of the best graphic programmes ever. it's a very compact and fast editor combined with runable gra- phic files. scratcher (ex-mcg, ex-para- mount) and paramount design (ex-para- mount) got me getting more and more in- terested in drawing graphics and to be- come an active member in the scene. that time i've spent a lot of time with those paramount guys (scratcher, dr. death, sting and paramount design) but i deci- ded to start my career in another group. that time i've choosen my handle: ra- vishing rick rude. it's the name of one of those wrestling heroes out of the wcw i've choosen this handle in a period when we were watching endless matches of this sports next to our computer activi- ties. a lot of my friends have choosen a "wrestling" handle that time like i.e. tommy/ex-mcg who became sting/paramount and breaker/paramount who became doctor death/paramount. unfortunately this handle was very long and after some dudes made some jokes about it i decided to use the short form only - rrr. that was the story about my handle. i've joined alpha flight and got more and more contacts. after some months in alpha flight i joined the friends in paramount and a lot of struggles with the alpha flight crew followed. later on i got some troubles with a certain para- mount artist and due to this i had to leave paramount. then i've read in the legendary magazine "sex'n crime" that i am a member of depredators, so i've been active in ddt some months. paramount de- sign started to claim that i should have stolen an original from paramount and i lost the interest in the cbm 64 scene and left it in early 1990. late 1990 i felt bored and started to paint some graphics again. some of them have been used in "frantic ii" and "breathless", two fantastic hoaxers de- mos. late 1991 i'd my comeback in a group called abyss connection (members of this group have been i.e. diabolo/pa- dua, anarchy & posdnugs/trsi, silver/ex- rsi, underdog/atlantis and michael stre- lecki, the coder of gepa and flip). af- ter some months abyss died and curve got built up. due to the lack of support in the topic demo section i've left the group for oxyron in june 1992 where i'll stay to the end of my cbm 64 career. meanwhile i bought me an amiga 500 at the amiga expo in cologne. in april 1993 i've joined genetix on the amiga (most of the members were cbm 64 sceners like i.e. dmc, tg-acme, anarchy, cruel, to be continued...). after some nice months genetix got more and more inactive as dmc, the leader, was heading into direc- tion super nintendo. first i've decided to stay independent and nowadays i'm active in the amiga section of oxyron, too. some days infront of the party 1993 i got again in contact with marc and max/ afl! some interesting chats followed and after the party i agreed to support them in form of a membership (2nd group). some months passed and i got more and more involved with the amiga scene. due to the fact that i have to work on the amiga 500 aswell i made the decision to leave alpha flight as i can't support 2 computer sections and 2 groups at the same time. sad but true! next to drawing graphics and swapping i have been writing some articles for va- rious magazines like bitmania, addybook, vandalism news and skyhigh. i'm using a very controversial style to edit my ar- ticles coz i'm a fan of gene/ex-ils's articles for shock. don't take them to hard or serious. always remember: the cbm 64 is only a hobby and not a pro- fession. life is just a game, enjoy playing it. after past and present it's time for the future now. on the cbm 64 i'll continue drawing graphics, swapping and editing diskmagazines. i'll start editing a le- gal chapter in relax, the long awainted magazine. furthermore i'll start calling out more regular in the future. i already joined up with the promising software company "bad bytes" and some interested projects will be born very soon. please find more details about this subject at the end of this article. on other systems i have to paint the gfx for the nearly finished amiga demo and to start over with my swapping activi- ties. enlarging my activities to the pc and snes scene are planned, but i think i don't have enough sparetime to realise this dreams. some of you might have been missing some personal details but my intention is to review my scene career, not my private life. i'm sharing details of my private life with some closer scene friends but it's not dedicated for my person unknown readers. to end this file i'd like to greet some of my friends in the scene like (no or- der): oxyron: pri, tts, axis, scrapper, slide, peace, machine, asmodis, graham biz-kid afl : marc, max, styx, skid row, rami- rez, murphy, secret man, honesty pha q, leeway, dark spirit: unifier focus : tdj taboo : acidchild avt : derbyshire ram trd : anarchy, posdnugs, fatman, stone atl : avalanche, trooper scs : vengeance, guzzler, morbid legend: jazzcat [c] : syco motiv8: merlin, tpf, pussyfooter regina: duke, kbs gothic: black widow shazam: gop, jim morrison cml : kring, slammer noice : stasi padua : diabolo palace: junkie, delta vision: wolf, zore, mr. smart triad : rave, roadrunna faces : clairvoyant, cop extacy: joker lth : witch hxs : rune, humanoid antic : xor f4cg : maja off : hp crts : lord red msi : frode xenon : oxbow arcoss: garth tmd : sidewinder panic : debris bcd : lybis eqn : grafee ff/jam: funny ex-[p]: scratcher, dr. death ??? : code 18 (gavin), smd i'm still looking out for new contacts on both machines, the amiga and the cbm 64. if you're a talented coder and you want to code games for "bad bytes" (graphics and musics, if required concepts, will be supplied) or you want to have your game sold under the "bad bytes" label don't hesitate to contact me. after this quiet boring text it's time to press fire and to load another chap- ter of this month's skyhigh. best regards, rrr/oxyron - june 1994 - - -- ------------------------------ -- -
