 *Demo Review

For all those pals, reading this
 chapter:
It is my first time reviewing demos
and it's ofcause not easy to give the
right grade for a demo, but I think
design rules, so there might be demos
higher stocked than those with new
records in it. So even those groups,
which have just started may have done
an very nice styled demo and may be
reviewd good, even if they don't have
 any amazing routines in it!
Ofcause most guys thinking about best
is, who beats someones record, or who
 just invents something new.
Ofcause I'm looking for nice routines,
but what is a nice routine, if it
 didn't look good...

So just send me your demos and we'll
 see about your work....

The latest demo published was the

            "RED STORM/TRIAD"

and that may have caused me to review
 this one...

First of all: All code by:Alphatech,
                           King Fisher
               Music by   :TDM
               GFX by     :Thunder,
                           Chorous,...
The intro looks like an usual demo-
 intro but still features something
 different.

I you aren't blind you should see an
charset 5 way scroller with an moving
periscope in the simulated water. The
music fits enormous to the action.
Next screen an bitmap-pic was invented
with the fld-modus. Again some actions
on that screen and the real intro
 followed.
To see is a red-raster with the
Red Storm logo on it. Some flashing
text with a 2x2 scroller under it.
The text flashes with the musical
rythsm and after that the next part
 will be loaded.
In the whole demo you mustn't press
space, so you can relax a while...

The irq-loader behind every part looks
 quite nice.
Some blue-shining rasters with a neat
 textroutine. The textroutine looks a
bit like the one from the Legoland-
intro, perhaps they used the same
sprites to cover the unused textbytes!

The next part (1.) features a full-
 screen animated triangle(Triad symbol)
and it goes like it came, whit the fld
 routine.
 2. part may be based on the text in
the irq-load and it showes some
 vectors (Hires-filled) and it looks
 like a christ-cross...

3.part showes some hires cards moving
 down till last card.
Again the action was based on the text
 in the irq-loader...

 4.part showes the finnland-flag, which
will be covered with blood (?) and
it turns to a comunism-flag, with the
 UDSSR-symbols on it..
It also shows an ugly paralax-scroll
 with transforming objects...

A fullscreen colorcycle is shown in
the 5.part. There is an flashing
Triad-logo in the background and there
are some sprites in the lower border.

-The irq-text explains, that they do
not like filled vectors, but they show
 a cube in the next-part (6.part).
It is blasting in the middle of the
screen. As always the music fits the
 whole action.

The 7th part again features a full-
 screened colorcycler, but that's not
 so special.

 The 8th part shows a triad-logo and
a metamorphosing cross to an eye (or
 so...)
The next part, which is still the 9th
has some moving and zooming dots-
 fractal.
Later it turns to 3d dots-fractal,
 without zoom-mode.
 The last step shows all.

The part following (10th) shows an
 very ugly charset-plasma (half-screen)
The rest of the screen is filled with
 a nice logo by SMD.
To the plasma: The coder inserted the
tech-tect-wave into it, but it's ugly
to watch, coz the colors didn't change
with the wave and so there are some
 colorbugs...

The 11th part may be the greatest, coz
it shows some nice animations while a
digi was playing. There is also the
Triad hammer moving with the beat and
that action takes the whole screen...

The end part is the next which came
up. It first shows the names of the
artists in the upscrolling way and
 pac-mans over it.
Later it turns to the second clip of
 the intro-part.
It again shows a logo, but now RED END
with a scroller under it and a Triad
logo by Thunder above of it....

The grades for this ofcause nice demo:
(They didn't greet us, but that didn't
influenced me to give them the points
 they deserve..)

Coding by King Fisher and Alphatech:
          - 86 of 100 points. -
Not only for the code, all parts are
styled well and have a nice build'em
  up.

Grafix by SMD, Thunder, Chorous, ...:

          - 70 of 100 points. -

The grafix are nice, but not that
   special. Perhaps they saved much
points in the not so styled parts.

Music by The Dungeon Master (TDM):

          - 98 of 100 points. -

The musics fits totally to the whole
creation and if they have used another
music it wouldn't be a demo that nice.

      All in all Game-over-score..:

         - 254 of 300 points. -

 I think it's a good score and it's
worth to save the demo on a good disc,
to be sure it would not suck....
So the other demos reviewed by Vortex
were not here in time, so that was
 an mega-fast-pirates-review...

Hope you like it and I hope I was not
 so hard. Critics wellcomed....
