MEGADETH+almighty+alice in chains
concert report
yesterday the 15.3.91 five friends of
mine and i (imbecil) visited the great
concert of one of the best speed metal
bands: megadeth. i met three of my pals
at the train to munich at 18.18 o'clock.
we drove to the german museum in which
the gig should take place. in front of
the museum were nearly 100 guys. here we
wanted to find the missing two guys.they
were not there cause they were late as
normal. as we entered we were searched
for weapons and other 'peacemakers'.
then we entered just in time to see the
first support: ALICE IN CAINS.
the mood was still on zero level. the
sound of a.i.c. reminded me of chinese
folk songs but with more speed.
then there was a break in which they
build up another stage scenery. it was
time for : ALMIGHTY
the mood had rised a bit, but i remaind
calm as i don't like almighty. they
played some sogs from their new album
'soul destruction' : free 'n' easy, love
religion, ...
then again a break to alter the stage.
during the break they played a fucking
cool music, but i don't know what it was

and them the moment had come. the head-
liners climbed on stage while being in-
troduced : MEGADETH
on tour to introduce their album 'RUST
IN PEACE' which is already out for some
months, they presented many songs from
it like: hangar 18,lucretia,holy wars...
the punishment due, ...
and of course some clasics like:
anarchy for the u.k., hook in my mouth,
in my darkest hour, ...
oh man, it has been a really funny con-
cert, if you leave out the support. if
they come to a town near you, then visit
it's worth the money.

hello wave-,techno-,ibm- and all other
interested fans ! i'm very proud,that i
am allowed to make a small article for
this marvellous mag (red.:thanx). today
i will introduce to you a background
story 'bout the well known 'FRONT 242'.
let's start:
one day in the year 1982, DANIEL BRESS-
ANUTTI, owner of a little belgian record
shop, thought that it was time for some-
thing new, as the music-scene was boring
and totally down. so he founded together
with PATRICK CODNEY and JEAN LUC DE
MEYER the project called 'FRONT 242'.
already the first single smashed in like
a rocket. all the independent- and dance
floor insiders woke up, indeed that was
a new style. the improvement was the to-
tal use of synthesizers, tapes and sound
samples from tv and radio networks.
the music was hard, powerful and good 4
dancing. the very hard synthy-beat was
unknown until this time. in the early
eighties there was electronic music only
known as the athmospheric-monumental
songs by JEAN MICHEL JARRE or groups
like tangerine dream.with all this the
music done by front 242 had the break-
through. they proved that electronic
misi can be full of energy and be suit-
able for discoteques. that was the birth
date of E.B.M. (electronic body music!).
in december 1982 after their 2nd single
called 'U-MEN' they presented the first
record with great success like they had
with teir first two singles. the short
temporal publications show the 'HUNGER'
of the scene.
in the begining on 1983 the question of
live preformances and tours was thrown
up. d.bresanutti had no such things in
mind. he only saw his work behind the
mixers in the studio and not on stage,
in front of all the hysteric visitors.
in these times another guy joined the
band. his name was RICHARD23. he pushed
luc temporally away as singer.with lots
of action, richard23 was the main attrac
tion of all the concerts. one thing no-
ticed by the tv and critics was the
stage equippment: army hide-nets, cuts
from military- and war videos. for these
things they were called as an extreme
radical band. in all the years the band
gave no statement to this reproach. they
let their misic and the time work for
them.
the commercialsuccess went on. with
records 'NO COMMENT' and 'OFFICIAL VER-
SION' the international honour came.
success opens doors for big tours throu
the usa and canada. 1988, after their
last record 'FRONT BY FRONT' and after
a wide european tour their official work
ended. the founders of e.b.m. go home to
their home, belgium and work on other
projects. they produced albums for THE
WEATHERMEN, or helped in BIGOD 20. after
long two years they are back with the
brand new record TYRANNY FOR YOU. in my
opinion is this one of the best.
all in all you can say that front 242
is going more and more away from being
only a e.b.m.-band. for example: have
you ever heard the track 'GRIPPED BY
FEAR', the clubmix version ? get it and
you'll know what i mean. so that's it
for the story.

first to mention a few things 'das ich'
is a well-known wave band in germany,whi
ch e.g the song 'GOTT IST TOD' play! the
gig took place in some strange dance pa-
lace and i first had sum problems gettin
there,i only met some little kids and th
ought 'AAARGH!,that will be a shit....'
at the entrance i met my pal zwerg ! we
went in and 'oooh!' no shitty kid place
like i thought 1st,the dj's played ex-
cellent ebm music and i met a few cool
people there! i caught sum beer and the
fun could start...zwerg got drunk from
1/5 bottle of wine...hehe! after a while
DAS ICH started to play not too bad wave
but those fools played their best song
at 2nd place! hahaha! some shit songs fo
llowed! they only played a few good sonx
at the start but then only shit came
after a little time zwerg got SICK and
felt asleep! i amused a little bit with
vroni in the meantime,then i asked her
if her sister could drive us home coz zw
ergie felt so sick! at 1.30 am the siste
r decided to be so nice to drive us home
(thank you,BITCH!),better later than nev
er! in the meantime we had to wait outsi
de where i caught a nice little 'flu and
i was uncool for the next two dayz(snif)
anyway i can only tell you...ONE NICE SO

ace,dark eyes,naked upper body,who the
HELLBASTARD CARES? andy and me had a lot
sa fun,only the french didnt like it too
much,she said the sound is awful and muc
h too loud,the only thing she liked were
the EXCELLENT gitarre riffs! she told me
that she prefers u2,the cure and other
softer thinx! well,everybody may have th
e TASTE he wants to have! meanwhile some
freax started to POGUE and groove! i ask
ed andy if we should try too but he re-
fused coz he had to bring his girl to th
e train,he said he would return in just
half an hour...well,so i danced a little
bit unexcited alone! the music was fanta
stic,but if your alone it's not the 100%
fun! but when they played the brilliant
tune 'SAMPLE MY SAUSAGE' i couldnt hold
myself! i danced around like hell and ba
nged with my head to the computer drums!
aaaaaah.... I LOVE THE FUCKIN' DELIGHT!
for this song the band took some biiiig
chiquita banana-balloons....and threw it
into the masses...haha! yeah! the music
was so F A N T A S T I Q U E ? in a litt
le break,the band went away and a guy,

MIC with an echoed voice...a nice EFFECT
but a little bit too stupid brought!
