             HOTSHOTS OF 1991
             HOTSHOTS OF 1991
             ----------------

           - morpheus reports -

well, another year passed. we have now
started of a new year and i hope you
will be satisfied with some more
issues of hotshot - the pride of the
 whole scandinavia!

in 1991 we released 10 issues filled
with stimulating text. it started of
with the 1990 christmas issue in
januari 1991. 9 issues was to follow.

the contest was different. we had all
 kinda news, charts, advertisements,
 reactions, reviews, stories etc. the
 inerviews were done with:

 issue 7 : daw / censor design
he later quitted censor and the scene!

issue 8 : none because lack of memory!
one of the reasons to change outfit!

issue 9 : ano / padua! what more to
 say? a cool guy.

issue 10 : colorful and destino of the
best group of finland, origo! done at
the great horizon party april 1991!

 issue 11 : scorp/hitmen, zoris of air
 design/the force and xentrix/b. force.
three of our best friends in 1 single
 issue. wow!

 issue 12 : antichrist, kampftrinker &
scrap of genesis! these were the guys
who boasted most of their own group!

 issue 13 : ses & jack daniels/genesis.
i printed the issue with jd and at the
same time he was kicked out and was
 antichrist worst enemy!

issue 14 : attraction of pandora!
a group which was working themselves
up. but then some trouble and now,
 complete silence!

issue 15 : none due to the fact that
we were in such a big hurry finishing
both our demo and our mag. this issue
had to be finished because otherwise
it would not be spread.we even crunch-
ed hotshot a half an hour before our
train would take us back home from
 zodiac's place.

 issue 16 : deff/enigma!
have you ever seen him been inter-
 viewed in another magazine? nnaaa...

a great bunch of cool guys, eh?

this year was a quite successful year
 for hotshot. with a well-earned-clap-
 your-hands-everybody hotshot became
one of the world's five best mags!!

 history:
 --------
it all started when mags were quite
new in the scene. a few german mags
were released and i'm sure you remem-
ber sex'n crime which was the biggest
 then. sharp(ex-flash), zodiac and me
were talking about starting a mag, but
i thought there were too many then!
later zodiac called me up saying that
he and sharp had done a mag-outfit
 with the name hotshot.

within a few months hotshot was a well
 known magazine.

 the future:
 -----------
the amount of mags(and there's coming
more!!) really pisses me off! i think
that it's a bad sign that every little
lamer-group starts a mag. the fact is
my friends, that you gotta have some
good connections to the scene if you
want to release a good magazine!

when it comes to hotshot i think it
will continue 'till either the scene
dies or the world's end is near!

        THE NEW ZEALAND SCENE
        THE NEW ZEALAND SCENE
        ---------------------

     - reporter: the hegg!/rotec -

the new zealand 64 scene has never
seen a real boom in numbers. it have
always been around 10-15 real guys
doing only importing and that it all
really. it's all happened out of time
1986-1990 was around the time that
groups like: the falcons, the source,
nukebusters then at the beginning of
1990 eagle corp. all these crews were
just import groups but were really
fast and their stuff was really well
 spread.

then in about august 1990 a new
zealand division of chrome was started
by a guy called retaliator and that
had 5 people in it at it's peak, then
retaliator left the scene and the new
zealand division fell apart and rotec
was formed. this has been n.z's big-
gest group yet! it's got eight members
which may not be alot but already one
demo has been released and two issues
of an addy magazine called the grape-
 vine .
there is also just a new group formed
called the bomb squad which has only
one coder at the very moment. also a
one man division of proxyon was set up
by cougar/chromenz who is just a
 graphican.

overall the scene in new zealand is
fucked up in the arse but it is great
for phreakers and stamp cheaters etc.
no-one has ever been caught by the
cops for anything like that because
they don't worry about petty things
like computer crimes. but the negative
outweigh the positives so unless more
people start doing things in new
 zealand, there is no future!

WHAT'S UP WITH THE HUNGARIAN SCENE ?
WHAT'S UP WITH THE HUNGARIAN SCENE ?
  ------------------------------------

           - alive reports -

let me have it started by listing some
 big groups in hungary.

chromance : seems to be the best over
here, by some says that they are get-
ting weak, just by releasing their mag
"are we the best?" and doing some
cracks. and ofcourse by being famous
since the dawn of time. it seems like
their oldest and coolest members have
left the group, or atleast some al-
 ready have (jean, griff, sangfroid).
their leader, mr. wax still stands the
fight against local lamers saying he's
not a cool dude. i cannot judge this
question, because i don't know mr. wax
 personally.

triumwyrat :are the other ancient ones
also having one old member left named
 sylvio. the other original members
have left the group without any speci-
al reason. they sometimes makes demos,
but not enough to reach the charts.
 mainly, they live on swapping.

stella : is a newcomer group but the
group is getting big! they just have
one problem. they are lack of great
coders and that's why they don't rele-
ase so much demos, and aswell as the
group triumwyrat, their main topic is
to swap. the most interesting thing
 about stella is their girl-leader,
 monique.

faces : are a big family having losta
coders, graphics men. when the group
is really active, they're the best
 group in hungary, concerning swapping
 and the demo thing.

graffity : are one of these group who
could be one of the best groups. they
have cool coders, graphics men and
nearly all of the members can do some
kinda music. but they are unactive at
this point (or are they doing some-
thing to shock the scene with later
 on?).

dynax : were cool but they're having a
civil war in the group. this led to
 dynax splitting up, members joining
 other groups. nowadays they're alive
with two or three members. hope they
 will do something.

 i think i mentioned all the so-called
elite groups there. and now over to
 the scene in general.

it seems that in hungary nearly every-
one has someone that they hate. and
that is bad because it's putting the
hungarian scene into a bad position.
for an example we have all these local
 lamers hating chromance because they
are known within the scene. but the
guys in chromance just ignore them.
the ones remaining in dynax are proud
and they say that besides them, only
graffity and tri and the cool ones.
they seems to be hostile against the
members that left the group and joined
 stella.

dynax and graffity are against faces.
why, you might ask? well, faces tried
to be friendly but both graffity and
 dynax ignored them.

everyone seeks after mistakes on each-
other. if one is found it's spreaded
 like hell.

the small groups are stealing code
from the big ones. this is one of the
causes there's war all the time.
the hungarian scene is just getting
into the business that most of the
other scene guys entered one or two
 years ago. captain tas/stella have
started a magazine in our own language
called "foleny". then, a few months
 later, another one called "fairplay"
saw it's daylight. the editors of
 fairplay thought that foleny wasn't
fair. these two magazines were enough,
i think, for the hungarian scene. but
later on more mags were produced. one
 is worse than the other.

but after all, there is some guys in
hungary that want peace. i hope i have
given you a little look on the scene
in hungary. and if you don't share my
opinion, why don't you write a letter
to me or to hotshot and tell your own
 opinion!

THE LAMER HITMAN / EXOTIC DESIGN
THE LAMER HITMAN / EXOTIC DESIGN
    --------------------------------

      - flash/hysteric tells ya! -

 about the lamer hitman/exotic design.
i was on holiday in neustadt/germany
where also hitman lives. i didn't took
my computer with me and so i had to
copy and play at hitman and hawk(both
in exotic designs) place. one day i
contacted some guys. one of these guys
were janec of ex-genesis. the holidays
were over and i drove home. hitman and
hawk should have sent me all the send-
ings that arrived in neustadt for me.
but as janec answered my letter those
guys didn't tell me about the whole
thing. just instead of that, hitman
wrote a letter to janec that i would
never swap with him and he also wrote
that he took over janec as a contact.
the whole thing was discovered as
janec wrote to me again. but this time
to my home address. so vote for hitman
 in da lamer charts!

 editor comment:
 ---------------
 well, that's typical! stupid lamers
steeling discs and stuff. anyway, i
do not really understand the meaning
with this article, but i'm waiting for
an answer from hitman and bro' hawk .

           FUNNY LETTERS II
           FUNNY LETTERS II
           ----------------

yes! this part of 'hotshot' has shown
 up for a second time..
in this issue, we can't publish any
lame letters sent in directly to the
editors....but we stole a letter from
 a swedish computergames mag, and
translated the letter, so the rest of
europe can laugh at it too.. and it
 looks like this:

         ---------------------

 hi swedish homecomputer news, sweden's
 oldest homecomputer paper?
my name is per ekengren but in the
computer business i call myself "mega-
 perka". i've had a commodore vic64 for
 2 years now. i'm 11 years old, but i
will soon be 12 years. i've got many
questions for the staff at swedish
homecomputer news. here are the ques-
 tions:

 (1.) i'm going to buy a diskdrive.
can i use the games i've got on
tape, even if i have a diskdrive?

 (2.) i've got a friend who's got an
atari, he's got a game called
      "automation". another friend of
mine told me that you can become
immortal if you give the right
      answer to the question "infinite
      lives? (y/n)". what are you
      supposed to answer there?

(3.) a friend of mine has got a com-
puter called amiga. he thinks it
is a good computer. do you think
      so too?

(4.) how do you copy an original game?
my friends have got lots of
original games that i want to
      have too.

 signed: per ekengren, hudiksvall.
