SOME
SOME of what you're about to read here
will be a sort of a reply to the article
in BRUTAL RECALL #10, written by a very
intelligent man whom I share a lot of
opinions with: BACCHUS of FAIRLIGHT.
As I'm far too lazy to send an article
to that magazine, I will just write it
here... Besides, I wanted to do this
efore, I just didn't know quite how to
start and how to put it. So I got a
perfect excuse to do it now,haha!

OKAY
OKAY,here we go...

YOUR
YOUR idea about making some kind of a
scene history for the newcomers is not
bad at all, it is indeed needed... But
the problem is that no matter who would
do it, there would always be a thousand
guys who would say: "THAT WAS NOT THE
WAY IT ALL HAPPENED! MY GROUP DID IT
FIRST!" ...etc.etc...

Come to think of it, I don't know if
there is any other way to deal with
newcomers than to ignore them and let
them learn by their own mistakes.
After all, that's pretty much what we
all have done in the past, isn't it?!

ABOUT
ABOUT the budget labels....
Well in my opinion, it was a funny idea
in the beginning. But when EVERY group
started using those fake labels it soon
became pointless.

What I didn't quite understand was what
you said about releasing crap versions
of crap games, in this context. I mean,
there is no time pressure to put out,
say, a new MAGIC DISK Tetris clone
called "SHITRIS". But I fail to see the
point in releasing "SHITRIS+12+IFFL+HI"
either... Although it's a bad game it
doesn't mean it shouldn't be released,
but why bother doing a great version
when your efforts on a worthless game
won't be appreciated anyway...

...So just let people have their stupid
shitgames and if they even like'em,fine.

BUT
BUT now, on to the subject I wanted to
write about in the first place,so-called
GROUP-JUMPING!!!!

Your opinions about it pretty much
equal mine. But I'm in a little bit
different position to talk about it
though.

See, one day I was reading some
diskmag and reading about someone who
left his old group/was kicked out and
joined another one for the 2Oth time
or so. Well, like always, I thought
this guy was probably

...someone who got accepted to the
group because he had promised them some-
thing, or at least the reason he got in
had very little if at all to do with
friendship and equal goals. It is fairly
easy to see right thru people like that.
Then,suddenly I was horrified to realize
that some people,especially those new-
comers, might actually consider me, MOI,
a group-jumper!

Come to think of it,I have been in quite
many groups, currently being in the 7th!
God... Let's see... The 1st one was the
mighty BYTERAPERS INC., I left after
about a year or so to join my good
friends in CONTEX
CONTEX.

I know CONTEX would still be the group
I'd be in,if something dramatic hadn't
had to happen... Well, this lead to a
VERY short visit in FAIRLIGHT,then
forming EXTASY with some of my old
Danish CONTEX pals and only 1 Finn,
TMB left. TMB put up a board local to
me, we got a couple of good releases
with help from SERVANT and everything
was fine for a while. Until SERVANT
got lazy again, TMB took his board
down and again more people quit.
Then we were at the point where I
had to do pretty much everything in
the group. A weak moment.. then ROY
came along and allured me into forming
a new group with him and some other
Germans. Hartmut,don't get me wrong now,
but looking back now it was a terrible
mistake. In the end, I was again doing

all the work in VICTIMS,despite the good
start. And then... Ooooooh noy,the army!
As I was quite occupied with carrying
mines, blowing things up, shooting and
other funny things, I didn't give the
scene much thought during those glorious
EIGHT months. However, at some point
I was asked to join GENESIS, and with-
out giving it much thought at the time,
said yes as VICTIMS was as good as dead.
When I finally got out of the army in
February '92 and started cracking for
G*P,it really seemed like a dream group!
Everything was running so smoothly,
everyone was doing something...

UNTIL Murphy's law raised its ugly head
once again and things started to go
wrong. (Well, right for some!)

To make a long story short, around the
G*P party in Germany, it all came to the
point I HAD to leave again. It was
really sad, but the silver lining in
this case was that it all became much
easier for Deb & Oliver,I guess...

(More about that elsewhere in this
issue I guess.) So, for the 1st time
really, I then was groupless for about
a week,receiving offers from practically
Top
every --- group. And finally joined the
1 0 BEST, hehe! **

THE
THE point I'm trying to make here, is
that every time I had to leave a group,
it was NOT about being a restless soul
always looking for something better,or

need for change or anything like that.
It just happened that sooner or later
I was always caught up in a situation
I had no other way out of!
ONE
ONE of the main reasons for this was
the country I live in and the almost
non-existant 64-scene here, the cracking
scene in particular. There always were a
couple of good coders,but when it came
to crackers and people at least
in things involving cracking,
there never were that many...

At least no-one who could reach my
standards,heheh! (Modesty? What's that?)
Just look, the person I talk to the most
in the scene NOW is a Dane!This drifting
from group to group started when I for
the 1st time found myself in a group

that did NOT consist of Finns mostly.
I feel that if I'd live in another
country, not that I'm not perfectly
happy living in Finland, all this would
not have happened. I never planned to
form or join a group just to test it
or just for the hell of it, I always
wanted to WORK HARD for each group and
STAY, keep doing it. Everyone who's
been in the same group with me knows
this. I'm a very loyal nature.
IN
IN each of these groups there was
always a person or persons with
whom I very much wanted to work with,
who literally drew me along with them.
Maybe that's my problem, I try to please
everyone and stay out of trouble and in
the end there is always someone who
feels offended and causes trouble.

Also I cannot help hating people who
refuse to improve their skills at all
and who refuse to change their opinions
on someone although they knew they were
wrong! I hate pretenders...
But never talk about it in public.

HOWEVER
HOWEVER, I have learned to live with
being somewhat rootless in todays scene.
I'm aware of what I'm capable of doing
and that some things I do better than
anyone else. And THAT's what is driving
me. Still, the day I find no fun in
what I'm doing and no friendship and
great times with my allies I will
most definitely say "Fuck It!".

WELP
WELP, I didn't exactly plan to write
a 12-page BOOK! But this thing really
bothered me lately so I guess I just
needed to spill my guts a bit.

And at least it's something for
Debbie & Oliver to fill the mag with,
hahah!
I
I am not asking for anyone to respond
to this, on the contrary.
I just wish this made certain people
realize that things are not always
what they seem(like owls? erhm.),
even if they usually are....

GIVE US A DESCRIPTION!

Well, I'm 18 years old, 6' 3" tall, have
dark blond, short hair and blue eyes. My
weight is something about 15O lbs. Since
about three months I have a steady girl-
friend and her name is Renate, her phone
number is: Na,I won't let you know!Hehe!

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF!

I still go to school and will pass my
final exams next year. Afterwards I'd
like to study something like Sports
Management/economy. I spent most of my
spare-time with Renate, but when there's
some time left,I meet other friends,play
soccer and tennis or simply relax (that
includes reading good books or listening
to good music). I usually spend about

one hour a day in front of my computer,
mainly with calling out. But when COR-
RUPTION has to be released, it takes me
at least a whole weekend. Then Deff
comes to my place, we buy a box of beer
and so it is much easier. But on the
other hand, our girl-friends aren't that
satisfied with it...

TELL US YOUR WILDEST FANTASY!

It's not my wildest fantasy, but it's at
least a big wish of mine. I would like
to take Renate with me to the beautiful
island ISLA CIES in Spain, where I have
already been last year. It is a small
island infront of VIGO, only a camping-
place and a ferry gangplank on it. The
landscape is so great and romantic...
I enjoyed it very much with my friends

last year, and would like to spend some
weeks again there with her.

WHAT WAS THE CRAZIEST THING
YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS EVER DID?

Hehehe... That was when I've been to a
recording of a TV-Show (Wie Bitte?,RTL+)
with a pal of mine. Before the recording
started we went to the VIP-tent and had
some beers. After entering the studio,
a stupid guy tried to entertain the
audience,as the show-master was delayed.
He annoyed all with stupid questions and
then came up to us. He asked us if we
had ever thought of being a candidate in
a TV-Show. Only to fool him,we replied:
"Yeah,sure! Tutti Frutti." The audience
laughed and this guy was shocked. After
being quite for a few minutes he said:

"Oh well, then come up to the stage and
have a try!" A woman,who was working for
Tutti Frutti as well, and a camera-man
came to the stage... and we started
stripping in front of the audience and
they recorded it. They were really
convinced that we were willing to do
this casting for Tutti Frutti. Hehe...
I don't have a clue what they did with
this film-material, so don't be sur-
prised when you see an advertisement for
Tutti Frutti with me and another guy on
TV! Hehehe... But the audience was
enthusiactic... Hehehe.

Well, my best thing is for sure that I'm

for my friends. Do I have any bad
character trades ? Hmmm... Probably that

HOW DID YOU GET TO BE IN DOMINATORS?

After we (me+3DK) got kicked out of
Genesis Project (I won't spend any more
time on this topic, as I really do NOT
care any longer!) we got offers to join
several groups, but wanted to wait some
more days to see what's going to happen.
After one more week or so, we agreed to
join a group, but before we could tell
them that we agreed, Cosmo asked us to
join the Dominators and that's what we
did immediatly, and so we had to refuse
this other group.

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT
IS GOING ON IN THE GROUP!

Well, there weren't that much releases
from us in the previous weeks, as Dog-

friend moved appartments and had no
phone-line for one month or so. Moreover
there have been some changes within the
group and there will be even more very
soon. DOMINATORS are now only:

Dogfriend,Cosmo,Jack Daniels,Animal,
Deff,Slayer,Idol,Twist,Cyborg,Pavarotti,
and Grizzly Adams...

TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT THE
HISTORY OF "CORRUPTION"!

It all started back in 1988, when 3DK
and me came up with the idea to give out
a disc-magazine. We got the name from a
computer-magazine. The first issue was
released in March'89 under the ATG-lable
And in the 12 issues till now, we used
6 different outfits and these 12 issues

were released under 4 different group
labels (ATG,Paramount,G*P,DOM). That
should explain that we just made it up
to 12 issues in more than 3 years. But
you can already start looking out for
issue 13, which will be released very
soon and AGAIN with a new, amazing
outfit!

WHAT DO YOU THINK, WHAT MAKES CORRUPTION
DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER MAGAZINE?

We are the most progressive magazine in
my eyes. We have always been inventing
new ideas like the Birthday-Corner, the
Champions ect. and have mixed them with
approved topics. All in all, we try to
write the magazine so it is enjoyable to
read. Compare for example our interview
style to others, it's individual, never

the same boring questions.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT TODAY'S SCENE?

The only things that make me stay are my
friends in the scene and probably my mag
and calling out, that is fun. The times
I cared for games are over since ages,
but still, there should be more games to
give the scene a new kiss of life.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ALL
THE FIGHTING GOING ON?

Well, I was involved in some of them as
well, but after a short time it gets
annoying. Too many guys take the scene
too serious and forget that it is a
hobby. I feel awfully sorry for the guys
who let the computer dominate their

life... They miss a lot.
