howdy! your host time is like always
(nearly) IOPOP. and this time i'm bring-
ing to you two album reviews. and the
albums reviewed is:

songs of faith and devotion

DEPECHE MODE

and

moose hair underwear

CAT RAPES DOG

in the end i will print the text to two
of the songs from the albums. one text
from each album.

i think no one have missed who depeche
mode is so i wont spend more time for
that. this album have 10 tunes and it's
47.32 miniuts long.

i feel you 4.35 min.

this tune starts with a real cool NOISE
in the begining and then the real tune
starts.if you can compere all tunes then
you can hear that this one is made for
radio playing.this was also the first
single from the album. a good tune but
i think i have listen to it too much.

walking in my shoes 5.35 min.

this is from my view the BEST tune on
this album. it's also the second single
release. it has a good melody that you
have in your head long time after.

condemnation 3.20 min.

this tune is a slow one and it's kinda
gospel insperated. not bad but not a
mega hit either.

mercy in you 4.18 min.

starts with a nice intro. the tune
waries alot so you can't get bored of
it. they have also used guitars in this
tune.

judas 5.14 min.

the intro of this tune sounds like a
town that wakes up. it sounds like they
have used violins in this tune. it's a
slow one and it's good to sleep to.

in your room 6.27 min.

this intro is like the one to judas
"something wake up". a friend of mine
said that this tune was what he called
the real type of depeche music. and i
can admit in that because it has the
real touch of perfection. and it's shows
that depeche really can make good music
eventhoug they are using real instrume-
nts.

get right with me 3.53 min.

the intro starts up and then follows
some scratches. this tune also got the
gospel feeling like in condemnation but
this one is faster.

rush 4.38 min.

along with walking in my shoes this is
the best from this album. this one is
the most brutal one and i think it's
just because the cool drums used. in the
middle the tune slows down and martins
voice is kinda disted. but it's cool.

one caress 3.32 min.

the intro starts with violins and then
martin starts to sing. no drums in this
tune and i don't miss them either. good
composing.

higher love 5.57 min.

cool intro. as you see this is the long-
est tune and it's good too. the refrain
is one of the kind that you have in your
head for some days.

summary: if you like depeche mode and
liked albums like VOILATOR and 101 then
you should you take a look at this album
the tunes from this album is of that
kind that you must listen to and then
they get better. the first time i listen
to this cd then i didn't like it too
much but then i enjoy it more and more.

i give it 7 out of 10.

i'm not sure if you have ever heard this
group. in SWEDEN they have been at a
underground level but in GERMANY they
are known. c.r.d. are playing TECHNO-
PUNK or what you can call it because no
one else is playing this kind of music.
i can inform you that it's electronic
music i'm talking about.

magnus fransson
joel rydström

moose hair underwear is the 3rd album
from them and in this one they have
used more guitars and basses then they
ever have used before. but i don't think
they are making the music worser because
of that. the album have 10 tunes and is
44.18 minuits long.

moose hair underwear 3.21 min.

starts with a cool speed metal playing
on guitar. after that the real beat
starts. the tune is brutal and good.

aquarius 4.31 min.

starts with bass, drums and some samples
the voice is disted. the tune sounds
have a little SPACE feeling. i don't
know what make it. the quotation is from
"the guns of brixton" by THE CLASH.

contry gods 4.48 min.

starts with some samples from a movie
and a helicopter comes in the air. after
that the beat starts with guitars and a
voice is saying "this is god's country,
drive through it like hell" and it's
sounds like they have taken it from
SAM 64! the tune is slow and becomes
a little boring after a while as they
sing the same text all the time.

god fearing man 3.51 min.

this is surely the BEST tune on this
album. nice intro and the singing is not
disted. on this tune also the girl
annelie is singing. cool text.
the melody is in your head many days
after you have heard it. guitars used in
the chours.

trojan whores 4.26 min.

this tune and moose hair underwear is
mixed at atom h by jurgen engler (DIE
KRUPPS) and chris lietz. the intro is
cool,even cooler if you hear it in head
phones. this is a fast tune. i think
this tune is also played on mtv. in the
middle it's a swedish sample. also
annelie sings on this tune.

don't wanna work 4.21 min.

cool intro. the usuall samplings and so
on. the singing is like in aquarius.
annelie is singing on this one too.
cool text , cool chorus , cool melody.
cool tune!

things i hate 3.57 min.

if you read the text then i got the feel
-ing that this one is the only tune with
a serious text. the text is about neo-
nazis and things like that. the things
they hate is the neo-nazis.

nothing but a bitch 4.10 min.

a slow begining then it speed up a bit
but not too much. joel is as always sing
-ing but on this one also magnus and an-
nelie is singing. joel's voice is disted
they always use a nice melody and this
got it too. guitars is also included in
this tune. in the middle it's a big:
whooooaaaaaaarrrrrrrhhhhhh! and the tune
ends in a cool chaos.

crusaders in disneyland 4.52 min.

this tune starts like all other tunes
on this album. with samplings,drums and
some bass playing. in this tune they
also used a little from the swedish.
nice melody.

demigod president 5.59 min.

cool begining. 30 seconds drums.
samplings also used here. i don't know
why this tune is so long as it's not so
good.

summary: this album is very good. if you
like synth and music around that then
you shall buy this cd. if you like heavy
metal then i think you can save the
money for something else.

i give it 9 out of 10.

some plus can be given for a cool cover,
the cool texts and that the texts is
included.

next time i will review some more albums
and other music things. but remember if
you don't like synth or punk. then i
think you should read RHYTHM NEWS if you
like metal or A-HEAD if you like techno/
dance/disco music. because the music
chapters in this mag will as long as i
will edit them only contain synth and
punk. in special cases also some techno.
