to ya about tsr and the scene.

first off, sorry about the delay on this
issue of the link. at this time of the
year, the usual exam goes on for many
sceners. i, myself, has just finished
my 3 year degree at university of
technology which is a big relief for me.
the exam was very exhausting. secondly,
an unfortunate news that my grandmother
pasted away during the month compounded
to my motivation to do the link.
nevertheless, that's from the past and
hopefully i'm back into gear now.
within TSR, the members are having a
ball down here. why did i say that?

firstly, LOGIC/TSR got married yesterday
on the 20th november with LISA. and they
are off to their sweet honeymoon. may
they share a happy life together. of
course he won't be reading this greeting
for another month while he is away.

secondly, UPTONOGOOD/TSR our respectful
leader is almost finishing his long due
holiday. i'm sure he had a great time
going down the coast with margaret (his
lovely wife).
then, there's STEVE/TSR who came up to
sydney for a wild stay in the city. did
ya have good time going to the kings
cross, steve? (hehehe).

MEGAZZAP/TSR is planning on a trip of
a lifetime to denmark attending a
party which is gonna be bigger than
the ASSEMBLY 93'.

and after 3 years of uni, i'll be off
to PORT MACQUARIE in the next few days
before leaving australia for SINGAPORE
and HONG KONG. and i'll see ya in mid
january.
so as you can see, it's the time of
the year for celebration. but this year
is special. it's extraordinary to see
that most members are gonna be enjoying
their christmas better than the last.

now onto the next subject, as you have
heard about LITHIUM have a new leader
FADE. well fade and i had been friends
before i joined the scene. i met him on
the modem scene and it was fun. the past
issue of form had made the impression
that we are at war which is not true.
fade has my 100% support and i hope
lithium goes far.
okay, that's about all i wanna say for
this month. and i hope to see you
all very very soon at the schizics
party.

called the link. i have some very good
news for all my contacts and anyone else
that would like this offer.

i have perfected a way to cheat stamps,
that,and i repeat that cannot be seen,as
i have already sent these stamps out on
my last send. try rubbing the post mark
off,see the stamps doesn't get sticky
when you wet it. remember that's how
the post office detect cheated stamps.

so i make you this offer send to me 2 &
i mean 2 sets of stamps,1 of which i
will keep and the 2nd set i will fix
for you and send them back. then all
you have to do is wipe off the post mark
and soak the stamp in hot water,let the
stamp dry and when you are ready to use
it again put some clear gum on the back
and you are ready to go again. you will
never have to put any glue on the front
of the stamps.

so if you are interested in this offer,

onto the real news. we only have a tiny
amount of news this issue. so lets go.
first of,we have a party announcement to
make.

this is the SCHIZICS SCENE PARTY,93

what is it? it's a scene party for all
formats held by schizics(amiga).

when is it? it's on the first weekend
of december,(4th & 5th)

why is it? well a lot of guys are want-
ing a decent party a.s.a.p.,so we have
shifted our butts into gear to hold a
full blown party.
who will be there? hopefully you will,
but there will be 64 group members,amiga
group members,ibm group members,and any-
one else that bothers to turn up.

how much will it cost? it will approx.
$10 for the 2 days,providing you have
your own computer. we were thinking of
charging just a bit more if you can't be
bothered to bring your compie(maybe $15)
this is so we don't have a repeat of the
'93 TSR party where only a few guys had
their computers.

where is it? located in sunny hornsby,
in a hall not more than 2 minutes away
from hornsby station,with great road
access,good parking,plus loads of shops
around. next door is a chinese rest-
uarant,macca's is nearby,lots of take-
away shops,a rsl,and a massage parlour
if you know what i mean! all within
walking distance from the hall.

the link is a TSR (the second ring)
production assembled in austrlia and
is produced on a monthly basis.

MENU MODE:

move joystick port 2 to choose chapters.
press fire to load the chapter.

or press space at menu to switch to text
reader to read text already in memory.
TEXT READER MODE:

move joystick to the right to forward
one page. move tothe left to go
backward.

press fire at anytime to exit back
to main menu.

LOAD MUSIC MODE:

type in the first 2 letters of the music
file you wish to load. the tune must
be between location $1000-$1fff. tune
must be played by $1003 and initialise
with jsr$1000 or be lamed! most music
tunes should work with the parameters.
have fun in trying.

try out some of the tunes on this issue!
simply type in 'm1' for example to
load the tune in.

press return if you decide not to load
music and exit back to the menu.

well i think that should clear up most
of the link operation and should be
quite self-explanatory. have fun in

STILL GOT THE BLUES: GARY MOORE

hello everyone, NEPTUNE of tsr here
presenting the link's cd review for this
month. and as you can see, i've chosen
one of my favourite albums, by blues
guitarist and singer gary moore. releas-
ed in 1990, it is one of his best albums
to date. flip the page for more....

the album contains twelve great songs,
unlike many contemporary albums which
have ten and no more. most of you will
be familiar with at least two of the
songs on this album: OH PRETTY WOMAN and
WALKING BY MYSELF. these are probably
two of the best songs on the album,
which is why they were first released
as singles... but one of the best things
about this cd is the variety which moore
introduces into his music, whilst still
staying within the blues genre.

a few of the best songs on the album
are....

MOVING ON a nice boppy track to start
the cd off. probably not
THE best song on the cd,
but still enjoyable.

OH PRETTY the first single released
WOMAN from this cd. features
moore's brilliant guitar
playing at the height of
his virtuosity.

WALKING BY another great song, which
MYSELF you may have heard on the
radio a lot.

STILL GOT the title track and, in my
THE BLUES opinion, the best song on
the cd. it is fairly slow,
but goes on for ages and
has two huge guitar solos
that show off moore's
ability to its best.

AS THE YEARS another very slow song, but
GO PASSING just the thing to listen to
BY when you're in a very
mellow, relaxed mood.

of course, those are just a few of my
personal favourites. the other songs on
this cd are:

TEXAS STRUT, ALL YOUR LOVE, TOO TIRED,
KING OF THE BLUES (a song about blues
musician b.b. king), MIDNIGHT BLUES,
THAT KIND OF WOMAN, STOP MESSIN' AROUND.

if you are able to get a copy of the
album and listen to it, one of the main
things that will strike you is the
incredible variety of styles which gary
moore is adept at handling. while all
of the songs have a distinctive jazz/
blues feel, the actual mood and style
can range from loud, almost dancable
tunes like OH PRETTY WOMAN to slow songs
such as the title track (STILL GOT THE
BLUES) which is just as good, but in a
different way.

another notable feature of moore's work
is his ability to persuade famous guest
artists to appear on his albums. on this
cd, george harrison of beatles fame
appears in the song THAT KIND OF WOMAN,
playing slide guitar and providing
backing vocals. on moore's most recent
album, which was entitled AFTER HOURS,
he again uses a famous musician in the
person of b.b. king, the jazz musician
for whom he wrote KING OF THE BLUES (on
this album). king is one of moore's
musical heroes, and it was obviously a

thrill for him to actually work with
b.b. king on one of his own albums.

all in all, this is an excellent cd for
any of you who like blues or jazz. even
if you don't particularly like this
style of music, you may find that after
listening to this cd you do! blues is
not really one of the most popular
genres as far as producing chart-toppers
goes, but gary moore still has wide-
spread success on the charts whenever he
releases a single; and many of his songs

also get extensive airplay, on the radio
and on tv music shows.

the singing is good, the musicians are
good, the quality of the songs is high,
and above all, moore's guitar solos kick
some butt in a large way.... there's not
really much more needs to be said.

so that's all for the cd review for this
month... i hope some of you might have
a listen to this album; and also don't

what hardware do you have? virtually
the whole commodore family. in our house
we have:a vic 20,2 c64's,2 a500's,a2000
a1200,and an a4000/40. other stuff
includes a couple of 1541's,datasettes,
monitors,amiga drives,loads of printers
14.4 modem,2400 modem,1200/75 modem,lots
of broken joysticks,lots and lots of
5.25 and 3.5 disks,and more.

how long have you owned them? got the
1st c64 around 1985 and the amiga in'88

what do you think of the scene? cool,
but it could do without the shit that

guess it's 6 yrs now i have been laming
around with my c64,been in TRIAD for the
last 3 years,before that i did NOTHING

(including a fart-cart,or as TRON or

have just got into the modem scene

of a nice scene to stay in IF you have

i must say sorry to all our readers as i
am on holidays at the moment,i've had 5
weeks off so far and have 3 weeks left,
so i haven't had the time to put this
section together,as i would like to,but
when i go back to work i will get some-
more for you,so this section will be the
same as the last issue. please read the
news section as i have an offer to good
to refuse,about stamp cheating,yes i
have the perfect way,and no chance of
you getting caught.
there's been a lot of fuss about that
controversial movie,indecent proposal,in
which a wealthy man offers a million $'s
to sleep with a bloke's wife. it's an
american movie,of course,and what the
yanks don't realise is that it's based
on a true story. it actually happened
right here in oz. not quite like it is
in the film,of course,but like this:

way back,around the turn of the century,
the parson in a certain country town had
a very beautiful wife. a real cracker,
she was,the best looking shelia for five
hundred miles around.
now,all the local blokes had tried their
luck,but she just wasn't interested,and
she remained faithful and true to her
husband.

one of the fellas who fancied her was
the wealthiest squatter in the district,
and he was determined to succeed where
everyone else had failed.

but he wasn't having much success. he
showered her with gifts of jewellry and
suchlike,but she kept sending them back,
& she stoutly resisted all his advances.

so he decided to try a different
approach. he knew that parsons didn't
get much in the way of wages,so he
decided to use that basic business
technique,a BRIBE.

i'll give you one thousand pounds,cash
if you let me sleep with your wife for
one night,he told the parson.

now in those days a thousand pounds was
a lot of money,and the parson,good man
though he was,was sorely tempted.

let me think about it,he told the rich
squatter. i'll pray for guidance,and i
will give you an answer tomorrow.

the two men met the next day,and the
squatter was delighted when the parson
told him he'd take the cash.

money up front,though,the parson demands

no worries,said the squatter. i'll be
round at your place tonight with a $1000
crisp ones for you. just make sure your
wife's in bed,ready and waiting.

that evening the squatter fronted up at
the parson's house and handed over a big
bundle of banknotes.

right,he said rubbing his hands in eager
anticipation,where is she?

she's in bed,said the parson. in the
back bedroom,straight through there.

the squatter rushed through to the back
bedroom,and sure enough,there was the
parson's wife in the bed waiting for him

you little beauty! cried the squatter,
ripping off his clothes and leaping into
the bed.

just then the door swung open and in
marched the parson,holding a cocked
double-barrelled shotgun.

he sat down on the chair beside the bed,
the gun pointed unwaveringly at the
squatter.

right! said the parson. you paid me a
thousand pounds for the priviege of
sleeping with my wife. SO START
SLEEPING.

a big,mean looking cowboy burst into a
saloon firing his six-guns right & left.

git outa here,all you mean-faced ornery
sons of bitches! he roared.

there was a wild rush for the door,and
the saloon was suddenly empty,except for
one little bloke,who sat quietly drink-
ing at a table in the corner.

well? he snarled.

well,said the little bloke. there sure
was a lot of em,weren't there?
tom,dick and harry were in the pub
enjoying a few quiet drinks one night,
when they decided to have a go at the
weekly raffle.

they each bought five $1 tickets,& they
were in luck,too.

tom won first prize - a years supply of
extra long gourmet spaghetti. dick won
the second prize - six months' supply of
extra long gourmet spaghetti,and harry
won the third prize - a toilet brush.

when they met in the pub a week later,
harry asked the others how they were
enjoying their prizes.

great,said tom. we both love spaghetti,
how's the toilet brush?

not so good,mate,harry replied. i think
i'll go back to using paper.

two sailors,on leave in melbourne,were
sitting in a tram,when a sexy blonde in
a mini skirt clambered aboard.

she was carrying a six-pack,and as she
sat down opposite the two sailors,she
put the six-pack on the seat beside her.

the two sailors stared at the vision
seated opposite. one sailor stared at
the six-pack,licking his lips,while the
other sailor stared at the girl's long
and elegant legs with his tongue hanging
out.

the blonde looked at the sailor staring
at the six-pack.

oh..er..umm..ramona..yes,it's a horse!
ramona's a horse i'm gunna back,the
husband replied. thanks fro waking me,
love,i've gotta get down the tab right
away!,and congratulating himself on his
quick thinking,the husband fled.
he came back home about an hour later &
found all his clothes packed into suit-
cases and standing on the front porch.

what's all this?,he asked,as his wife
opened the door.

that horse you were going to back,said
the wife. it rang up half an hour ago &
said to meet you in the motel at seven.

the mechanic at the local gas station
had been dining at the same cafe for
years,and he always had steak and eggs.

one evening,as he came in,the waitress
was running a pencil line through steak
and eggs on the menu.

i've just had to scratch your favorite
thing,she said.

well,said the mechanic,wash your hands &

we have a lot of vote that have been
sent to us,we would ask you to make sure
that you please print your addies,as it
is very hard to read some of your vote
sheets.

if there is any changes to your addies,
then please let us know,so we can make
the necessary changes. it looks like
the 64 scene might last a little bit
longer,judging by the amount of wares
that has been coming out the last couple
of months.

there was an article,the file of which,i
will put on this send,tells story about
the wares that are being sold for the 64
far out weighs the amiga and pc's,so if
that is the case we should be helping
out.

on the subject of software,we are in the
hunt for some group that would like to
have their wares spread by our modem
trader,logic. he is looking for someone
to supply him with cards. we can assure
you,your wres will be spread very fast,
as,he has a very fast modem.

to be in hospital,after a bad car smash,

the interview when he was in hospital.

this is just to recap on our new outfit
introduced since issue 13.

we have received many excellent
reactions to the outfit. the reputation
of the mag is growing day by day. very
recently, LINK was VOTED 10TH in the
world magazaine chart in REVEALED
produced by camelot. link is also
climbing many other charts and i have
no doubt that we are going to go even
further.
one big words of thanks to the following
people involve with the production of
such quality mag.

the effort was excellent guys!

we are gonna rule if we can keep this

BUGS FIXED...NO PROBS!

on the other side of the coin, the link
also received some kind suggestions of
how we can improve the mag's look and
feel.

we have responded to fix some minor bugs
for example, there appears problem with
the menu selector with certain joysticks
which causes the editorial to be
reloaded. we have subsequently fixed the
problem.

it has come to my attention that certain
news about the link 13 being freezed
with expert cartridge.

due to university exam commitments and
other pressure, link#13 was not packed
with conventional packer as such. 99%
of sceners were able to load it up with
no trouble at all. i apologise to the
remaining 1%. since then the link is
100% fixed. thank you.

stuck in a small theatrette full of
lawyers is not the most pleasant way to
review films: i think it has something
to do with the overpowering cologne and
the sound of crisp notes in crocodile
skin wallets. THE FIRM certainly does
nothing to dispel these myths.

to act a bit and gene hackman is
excellent as the weathered, wizened
mentor to cruise.

mitch mcdeere (cruise) is an honours
graduate of harvard law school and is
hotly pursued by all the top law firms.
naturally being a lawyer, he goes for
most money, soft top mercedes and
interest free mortgage for his new home.
at this stage the firm itself seems
inconsequential. however, it doesn't
take all that long for quick thinking
mcdeere to find out that despite all the
nice ties, airs and graces of bendini,
lambert & locke, they are not what they
appear to be.

sydney pollack (out of africa) manages
the intricate screen play very well,
even though at times the twists and turn
of the vamped up story are as obvious
as black balls on a white dog. fast and
furiousit certainly is. listen to the
wonderful score by dave grusin plus
some of the wonderful blues track, as
one would expect for a movie set in
memphis.
the strong cast keeps the action fluent
and belivable, and cruise is left with
his pride and marketability intact in
a somewhat boring ending. THE FIRM
didn't just appeal to the white
republicans of middle america, so don't
be afraid to part with your 10 bucks for
a good couple of hours of intrigue.

but then again the lawyers loved it
too...

oh, by the way this is the kiwi section
of the link and it's written by me,i'm
called mr bungle/tsr/bad karma and i
have to write a couple of chapters
tonight, so lets get the fuck on with it

i guess i'll tell you about a little
outing i went on a few days ago,with a
few sceners from new zealand.
a new guy on the nz's 64 scene is called
lucifer/dragon,and he was on holiday in
my home town,(fuck knows why anyone in
world would want to go on holidays in
this shithole though).

blade and slug of system came over on
the bus to wainuiomata and hung out at
titanium/fury's place for a couple of
hours (i guess), before unexpectedly
turning up on my doorstep (my old lady
must have freaked out with a freakshow
like these 3 guys on the front porch,ha,
so we hung out in my room for awhile,
looked at some of the parts.for system's
upcoming demo (fuck you i won't do what
you tell me! sorry i'm listening to
rage against the machine) and some other
shit that blade brought (just a few disk
eh ron?).

after showing off my new puppy,and how
fucking tidy my room was (ha,ha),we got
into titanium's car (i drove down my
street, but never again eh edwin,and we
headed to where paul(lucifer)was staying
then we just cruised around for awhile,
and stopped at the local park,for some
graffiti,and some dude was watching us,
he thought we had stolen the car,ha what
fuckwit,anyway then we dropped paul off,
and then i got out,and went home.

sorry if i have bored you,but there is
not a lot happening in new zealand at
the moment. will have a bigger section
in next month's issue.

what i am trying to state,is how mad
this scene has become. i returned to
the scene,after 4 months,to find it had
totally changed,i remember when the 64
scene was really friendly,with deb,and
uptonogood,rustler and erratic etc,on
the scene. i know it was changing a
little when i left(erratic busted,deb &
rustler quit),but on returning it was
totally changed. a letter from gop to a
friend of mine,called bandit,told me
that bright light can go and get fucked!

all the scene is now is 1 group tsr,and
20 lame groups,giving others shit,and
starting wars,and fighting that they are
number one!!!

i also returned to find it full of
competitivness,and people slagging each
other(very childish).

anyway,just today,i found out that some
cunt had dobbed me in for ducking the
post by using those envelopes i use.

i answered the door to find a post
office person at my door,with the pack
sent back from anthrax. it had been
opened. i asked what was wrong,and they
told me a person they could not name,
from new south wales had given them some
information allowing them to fine me
with a $100 fine.

that is a lot of money for me to pay,and
my parents aren't going to help me. so
this money can't be used to stay on the
scene.
i give all my best wishes to my best

the typical RP wouldn't be caught
dead writing accountant programmes in
cobol or sorting mailing lists for
PEOPLE magazine. an RP would work at a
place like,

los alamos lab,writing simulation for
atomic bombs
national security agency decoding the
russian transmissions
it was the work of 1000's of RPs that
got us to the moon before the ruskies
work for boeing,with cruise missiles
some of the most awesome RPs work at
the jet labs in california,many know the
op sys off by hearts and have managed to
program bit of space junk to hit rows of
residencial windows after 6 years in
space

one current plan is for a spacecraft
to pass within 80 km (+/-3) of the sur-
face of mars,no-one is going to trust a
pascal programme(r)to do this

oh and by the way,real programmers
can write fortran programmes in any
language
THE REAL PROGRAMMER AT PLAY

a real programmer often plays the
same way he works,with computers

tips on RP's at play:
at a party,RP's are talking about op
sys security and how to get around it
at a footy game, RPs are comparing res-
ults with predictions on fanfold paper
at the beach,RP's drawflowcharts in the
sand
at the funeral,RP's are saying "poor
george,& he almost got that sort routine
working before the coronary"
in the grocery store the RP is the one
who insists on running the cans over the
laser check himself,because he couldn't
ever trust keypunch operators to get it
right first time
----------

RP'S HABITAT

surrounding an RP's computer is,

listing of all the programmes he has
ever worked on
some half filled cups of cold coffee,
occasionally, the cups will contain
orange juice
copies of the os jcl manual open at the
interesting pages
lineprinter snoopy calender for 1969
wrappings for snacks
an old old flowchart template, real prog
ramers write programes,not documents
an RP is capable of working 30,40 even
50 hours at a stretch under intense pres
sure,in fact,he prefers in that way.

bad response time doesn't bother him,
it gives him sleep time in between com-
piles

if their isn't much pressure on him for
a particular job,the RP makes it inter-
esting by working on a small, interest-
ing part of the programme for the first
nine weeeks and finishing the rest in
the last week

GENERALLY
no RP works 9 to 5(unless its at night)

RP's dont wear ties
RP's don't wear high heeled shoes
RP's arrive at work in time for lunch

RP's might not even know their spouses
name,but they know the entire ASCII
alphabet

RP's don't know how to cook,shops aren't
open at 3 in the morning,so they survive
on mars bars and coffee

THE FUTURE

RP's are concerned about the future,
high school leavers can't do hex maths
without a calculator, college grads are
getting degrees without even seeing
fortran

however there is still a demand for RP's
and their legend will continue with the
latest unix upgrade ie,2 completely
incompatible user interfaces,and with
'C',beside the fact that it is structure
it can be appreciated,it's like having
the best bits of fortran and assembly
thrown in to one. yes the future isn't
looking too bad for RP's

as long as there are ill-defined goals
bizarre bugs,and unrealistic schedules,
there will always be a real programer
willing to jump in and solve the problem
and leave the documentation for later
long live fortran!!!!!!

there's been a lot of fuss about that
controversial movie,indecent proposal,in
which a wealthy man offers a million $'s
to sleep with a bloke's wife. it's an
american movie,of course,and what the
yanks don't realise is that it's based
on a true story. it actually happened
right here in oz. not quite like it is
in the film,of course,but like this:

way back,around the turn of the century,
the parson in a certain country town had
a very beautiful wife. a real cracker,
she was,the best looking shelia for five
hundred miles around.
now,all the local blokes had tried their
luck,but she just wasn't interested,and
she remained faithful and true to her
husband.

one of the fellas who fancied her was
the wealthiest squatter in the district,
and he was determined to succeed where
everyone else had failed.

but he wasn't having much success. he
showered her with gifts of jewellry and
suchlike,but she kept sending them back,
& she stoutly resisted all his advances.

so he decided to try a different
approach. he knew that parsons didn't
get much in the way of wages,so he
decided to use that basic business
technique,a BRIBE.

i'll give you one thousand pounds,cash
if you let me sleep with your wife for
one night,he told the parson.

now in those days a thousand pounds was
a lot of money,and the parson,good man
though he was,was sorely tempted.

let me think about it,he told the rich
squatter. i'll pray for guidance,and i
will give you an answer tomorrow.

the two men met the next day,and the
squatter was delighted when the parson
told him he'd take the cash.

money up front,though,the parson demands

no worries,said the squatter. i'll be
round at your place tonight with a $1000
crisp ones for you. just make sure your
wife's in bed,ready and waiting.

that evening the squatter fronted up at
the parson's house and handed over a big

when they met in the pub a week later,

hey giorgio, nice format buddy. the tick
that appears after you have read a
chapter is a nice gimmick. how about
inserting a time delay or something
after you exit a chapter so you don't
load the first chapter again. also, how
about after you read a chapter pointer
stays on the line and not the start. not
a major problem, just a nitpick.

the menu was cool to issue 13 but why
did you freeze your code GIORGIO? i
repack it from 108 blocks to 68, 40
blocks off! why did you freeze it? alot
of guys in the scene will think that tsr
is lame! next time use a packer and
cruncher! it doesn't take that much
time.

as you said the menu was cool so why
are we dwelling on how small we can
make the code to be? it's so easy to
criticise someone's work isn't it? i
liked to see you code a mag from
scratch! but your point is well taken.
i should have made it smaller. it's
good that you had nothing to do and
repacked my code - much appreciated.
whilst i had to go into my uni exam
(my final 3rd year) and i did not have
the time. you probably think that as an
excuse of some sort but i don't care
what you think either. if people think
i freeze it is lame and not consider
the substance which is the whole outfit
itself, that's fine. i am not going to
argue. picking on how the outfit was
packed and not how the magazine looked
is just as lame i think. thanks for the

mag THE LINK. we wish to thank all our
readers,who have spoken highly of our
efforts in keeping you,the readers up-to
date with everything,that is happening
here and overseas.

there has been,quiet a few changes over
here,since the last issue of the link,
more about these later.

i have a big favour to ask of everyone,
can you tell me what has happened to TBB
and ARGOS,are they still around. i have
sent many packs to them and they have
not sent back to me as yet.

also we would like someone to send over
a book from germany containing all the
new post codes,so we can keep our files
up-to date.

you will find in this issue we have 2
chart sections. we have gone back to
having the monthly charts,as well as the
progressive charts.

the monthly charts will not contain and
i repeat,will not contain any tsr member
votes,we will see if this stops all you
whinges out there,you know who i mean.

the progressive charts will be kept up-
to date as usual. we hope this meets
with everyone's approval.

hopefully with this issue you will be
able to type 16 characters in for your
music.

you will also find some new tunes,that
you can use.

we will also have the date of the party
in 1994.
i would like to know if anybody out
there has a working copy of zac macraken
as mine is errored,also would like to
find a tune from the mission impossible
series.

another exciting month for the c64 and
the scene. first, SHAZAM is born after
REBELS australia left from the euro
division. it'll be interesting to see
how LITHIUM survives with CRUZE left the
group. MSR is almost unheard of but
i think they'll live if things goes
well. so the oz scene is much in need
of new blood to fill the unchallenged
position and competition is getting
less and less.

no doubt, TSR continues to strive to
produce best that we can to satisfy all
or readers. we'll be the last to go as
we hope. marching towards 1994, TSR will
be a stronger group. we have planned for
the next party where others are still
so uncertain about their own party.
guys, is the christmas party going
ahead or is TSR gonna beat you again
with our second party? no offence to
anyone just some encouragements.

onto another subject, looks like the
scene is smaller everyday. and at the
end of the day, the group that will
survive are those who stick together
as a real team. i can proudly say that
TSR has a good team of talents. not
just the commitments and the skills
that's needed to be a great group, but
also the loyalty members have shown
despite all the outside influences. we
have let our true spirit play the game
and not worrying about our EGO every
minute. i truely want to thank
UPTONOGOOD for showing outstanding
leadership ability in leading TSR to a
new era as we move beyond 1993. no
doubt, from the proud contributions of
all members, and i mean all members,
we'll continue to be a top group in
australia. we known deep under that we
are and we will continue to be so.
it has come to my attention that there
has been some rather critical comments
made directly to me from
CRUZE/EX-LITHIUM over the incident that
link#13 was packed with the expert
cartridge instead of a cruncher as such.
the same comment was repeated in form#6
three times: in the editorial, the news,
and the messages section. the same
comment asking WHY I DID IT? was sent
to me, the link and i presumed other
votesheets to other mags.

i have decided to exercise my right to
reply.
what i want to draw to your attention
is the fact that:

1. CRUZE knew of the reason why but he
persisted the attack against me over
such a petty thing as packing? the
question of WHY? was asked many times
even after honest answer was given?
2. CRUZE worried so much about packing
that he made not one comment, but
multiple comments in one issue of
his own mag.
3. CRUZE, from i gathered, is seeking
to print his comment in many mags
over this small incident.
my reply to his abusive comment:

1. i consider the look and feel, the
code, and the substance of the mag
more a priority than how the finish
product was packed.
2. your continual attack is unjust,
out of proportion, and overblown.
the language was abusive and rude.
i resent your rudeness and consider
that your own jealousy.
3. tsr communicated the reason to you
2 days after the link was released.
your mag was released six weeks
after our explanation and you still
decided to print such rude comments.
either you are jealous or you want
to start a war.
4. you may know a bit about packing
(and who doesn't?)but you don't know
enough about coding to code your own
mag. then what gives you the right to
criticise me of how i coded my mag?
5. as much as i wanted to criticise you
back, i resisted because i don't want
to bring myself down to your level!
6. i have never even made one comment
about you before then why are you
so keen on attacking me? afterall you
almost blew your top off with those
discourteous and savage comments.
7. watch your manners, CRUZE. even
though you can exercise your freedom
of speech, don't abuse it. especially
over something so minor.

that's all i wanted to say about this
incident. CRUZE has taken many hours of
his time to engineer this attack. and to
my mind, is it worth it? who is to
benefit? does this make him sleep
better? i do however, think this kind of
attack is meaningless and degrading the
australian scene, won't you agree?

onto another topic - we'll talk about
networking. recently, i have discovered
a whole new world called the INTERNET.
internet is one big network which links
universities, nasa, governments,
research centres, technological frontier
of this world (this globe)! no kidding
the size is absolutely enormous. to
give you some ideas, there's an option
called the IRC stands for INTERNET
RELAY CHAT which you can chat with all
users on line in varies channels. a
channel is basically defined as a topic
of conversation. there are channels
such as #C-64, #AMIGA, #TEENSEX ETC.
each channel can have varies amount
of people logged on to it. on average
there would probably be about 5 logged
onto each channel. and on average, about
700 channels is available for irc.

another aspect is the EMAIL ability to
write mails on-line or off-line.
on-line mails are put into NEWSGROUPS
for example ALT.JFK,AUS.BICYCLE ETC.
and there are at least 20,000 newsgroups
online. people can post messages and
bulletins for others. off-line you can
write private mails to certain people
you desired. the destination is defined
by addresses. for example my address
is DPPOON ACACIA.ITD.UTS.EDU.AU
which the address is basically a mail
box. mails sent are delivered into
addresses like real life mails.

of course the biggest benefit is
privacy. the FTP module allows you
to sent files to addresses like mails.
but you ask, where do i get hot stuff
from? two ways my friend:

1) via INTERNET boards
2) between addresses.

you see, you can also call varies other
institutions like a bulletin board.
for example there are several military
base of nasa you can hook up to; or;
compuserve if you are registered and
many others. the other way is to sent
your files like messages to another
destination. the choice is yours.

what's more, as a matter of interest,
internet is how some of the elite dudes
hack into NASA for secrets and other
major corporations. fun fun fun.

i'm sure you are a bit more interested
with INTERNET by now. but of course
only elite dudes like me have access!
only kidding. if you belong to any
universities in australia, chances are
that you'll have no problem of getting
into INTERNET. otherwise, there maybe
bbs which have gateways into internet.
as i've heard from logic/tsr, his
bbs space-station has an echo with
internet so that email can be sent thru.

welcome to this new issue of link 14.
this month we had a bit of slow down
with our production line. but never mind
things should get back to normal very
soon.

on the same disk, you'll find our latest
tsr cracks by quetzal/tsr.

the feedback for the new outfit had been
coming in with many positive reaction.
the only criticism was the joystick bug
which is now fixed.

several enhancements were planned for
this issue but delayed as a result of
my university commitment. anyway, we
don't like to make big changes every
month so it's better that we keep
progess steady as we go. as a result of
the new format, it has moved up some
places on charts of other mag. it means
that we are achieving something now!

on another front, strobe was involved
in a serious car accident and is now
recovering in nepean hospital in
penrith of sydney. we hope he'll get
well very very soon.
oh well, that's all for this month's

as not to confuse readers of the avai
