                    + WELCOME TO +

+ THE PULSE MAGAZINE - THE APRIL EDITION +
     ______________________________________
Ladies and Gentlemen, once again we introduce to you the
international distributed THE PULSE MAGAZINE - produced
by REGINA in 1994.

This month we present our 10th anniversary edition. Celebrate
with us, as we introduce yet another marvelous and crammed
edition with mindmoving entertainment and information.

INSTRUCTIONS : Use JOYSTICK in PORT 2. Left and right to
change PAGES and FIRE to reach the MENU!
Dear Readers, 1st of April 1994

It is hard to believe it, but here we are again, this time able
to introduce the 10th edition of THE PULSE MAGAZINE. With
that we present our anniversary special, not that there is
anything unusual about this edition - but as always we have a
great show for you anyway.

THE PULSE MAGAZINE was first released on JUNE 1st 1993.
Back then it was not intended to become what it has turned
into today, but by the will of some and the help of others, we
have succeeded in taking the market by storm and put this
creation in the history books. We may seem superficial, but
honest to god we have the right intentions.
This month the editorial change once again. SUN DANCER was
kicked out, which means that PIXELS will never be a part of
this magazine again. NEPTUNE of CAMELOT is welcomed to the
staff as the new graphical critic for World Of Demos, taking
over the job from SUN DANCER. Other changes in the staff
was probably notable last month, with the latest addition from
America MUTANT-X getting busted, and therefore automaticly
being removed from the staff.

We at THE PULSE MAGAZINE would like for all our readers to
be aware of the fact, that all members added to the staff are
presented with a number of rules which they have to go by, and
should they breach any of them, it means immediate expulsion.
We are fair, but resolute.
Due to the celebrations of our 10th edition anniversary, we
have receaved a bundle of congratulations from some of the
sceners on the boards - be sure to check them out in GLOBAL
REPORT.

We present with this edition the opening of our brand new
reaction chapter named MEET THE PRESS. You are therefore
now able to write to us your opinions about this magazine.

We will return in the beginning of MAY, be sure to get your
hands of THE PULSE MAGAZINE when it is due.

News journal

          + NEWS JOURNAL - THE HEADLINES +
           _____________________________
NEWS JOURNAL returns to bring you a detailed report about
the happenings in the scene in March month.

March proved to be quite a busy month, there are still a lot
of things to report upon, and it even looks as if the scene is
growing instead of falling apart. I could be wrong, but by the
looks of the huge bundle of news, it sure could look like it.

The news was collected by CROSSFIRE, SPLATTERHEAD and
DUKE. Should there appear any news of a wrong nature, please
inform us of this, so that we can correct it. As always, the
NEWS JOURNAL is written General Editor DUKE.
* AVANTGARDE was fortunate in their plans to bring back a
strong American side to the group, but when everything looked
to be going great, LUCIFER (the sysop of PHIBERCOM) was
busted by the American secret service, and he now makes the
third in a row to go down in Houston, with already GREGO and
SUSIE UZI being busted. According to rumours, the secret
service should have had his line tapped for about a year, and
he is currently in jail facing charges from AT'n'T and possibly
others. However, March month was not all bad news for the
AVANTGARDE side, as they could announce the return of
the former MAMBA editor PETER. Many people thought this
would bring back MAMBA aswell, but according to DEFF/AVT-
"MAMBA? Fuck no! Never again!". AVANTGARDE also managed
to add TRICOM (cracker, supplier, coder, graphician) in March.
* HAIN is once again actual in a new group, this one his 5th ?
(I stopped counting) this year already. His new group is now
F4CG, and according to HAIN himself, he joined up because-
"Ohh.. Reason is so somple. I have never been in F4CG. Okay,
just kidding. MAJESTY was out for a little while so hardly
anyone was taking care of the organisation. So, no calling-
cards around as such as..". MAJA/TALENT also joined up with
F4CG along with two Polish swappers named SPARK and THE-
RION. F4CG could also announce that the Italian party which
was supposed to be arranged by PLAYBOY was cancelled due
to the lack of attenders. Only ANTITRACK/F4CG had in mind
to be there. THE STRANGER was kicked out due to his inacti-
vity caused by his army-service along with LARRY, who was
booted because of running a board "REVOLUTION" which
apparently was not in the interests of F4CG. According to
F4CG, LARRY also pretended to be a coder, but turned out
not to be - he then attempted to join AVANTGARDE, but was
turned down. The final F4CG report is a happy one though, it
appears that F4CG will soon be on the market with a brand new
demo, this one their 10-years-birthday demo (ed. Hmm?) which
will be named "DECADE OF AGRESSION".

* SPLATTERHEAD and LCF decided to rebuild SACRED, but
when MENDRAKE was added to the group, he released 3 games,
with a fake EMPIRE intro linked to two of them. It all caused a
scandal, and SACRED died in shame. According to MENDRAKE,
who joined up with FAIRLIGHT after the crash, the EMPIRE
intros were added by a person claiming to be in EMPIRE. He
was simply led to believe that EMPIRE actually released his
games, and therefore was not to blame for the insident. Most
of the members from SACRED are now groupless.

* REGINA kicked out SUN DANCER for breaching several grap-
hics deadlines, he later joined MOTIV 8. STEVE was dismissed,
because he is not active on the 64 today anyway, except for
the work he does for WORLD OF DEMOS in THE PULSE. STEVE
is now in CAMELOT. The current memberstatus of REGINA is :
DUKE, DR.ZIVAGO, SHARK and KBS.

* A new American fixergroup was built up by MOLOCH! The
memberstatus is not public yet though, but it appears that
some promising names are said to be in.
* VISION has had the longest drought since they returned last
year. Because of that, HERCULES and FREDDIE decided to
pack their bags and leave VISION. Right now it seems as if
VISION is more dead than alive.

* MOTIV 8 added a couple of members to their already quite
long list of members. THE FRESH PRINCE and DANIEL/ex.EPIC
aswell as SUN DANCER/REGINA joined up, with THE FRESH
PRINCE starting to call out.

* GOREFEST decided to leave THE RULING COMPANY and
drop most of his contacts. He is still active though, but on a
more relaxed level, and currently he is not involved with any
group.
* WILDSIDE died only one month after it was formed due to
internal problems. Most of the members went on and joined
X-RATED which returned to the scene after a long break.
Also DR.ZZAP/BRONX and NEW DESIGN/CRYPT joined up,
which makes the memberstatus look as follows : X-RAFFI,
CHRISSIE, MIDFIT (ex.DR.JONES), PIGEON, DOOM, L.TRIMM,
DR.ZZAP, NEW DESIGN, DEEKAY, O.B (ex.LAZINESS) and
TRIBAL (sysop of DEAD ZONE).

* BENSON left TRSI to join up with TALENT in order to
release the game GENLOG under their label. Moments after
that, BENSON left the scene, due to that he is going to
become a dad (congratulations OLD man, we will miss you).

* CHROMANCE added a couple of members to the strong squad,
SZAB (known as the coder of the game "STAR BRAIN") joined
up to operate as a NTSC-fixer. They also recruited X-RADI-
CAL who left VISION in order to operate as the new original
supplier in CHROMANCE. The currently memberstatus of
CHROMANCE goes as follows : PAINKILLER, COP, GRIFF,
HOMEBOY, SZAB, WILL, JAZZY D, ALEX, MR.WAX, ICARUS,
X-RADICAL, JINX, BLOCKBUSTER, JOYRIDE and THERION.

* The once mighty board THE SHAOLIN TEMPLE appears to
be facing the Grim Reaper after 5 years in existance.
According to SOLAR/F4CG, THE SHAOLIN TEMPLE has lost
a lot of callers since it became LEGEND HQ, and unless it
picks up, it will be closed down. Call it at : XXX-XXX-XXXX.
* ROLE is back in the scene with their magazine ROCK'n'ROLE
once again, which has 19 editions on its back. ROCK'n'ROLE
has been away from the scene for about two years now, but
according to ICE-T, he and COMMANDER would release the
comeback edition at VENLO (16th of April).

* COMIC PIRATES are still around although there has been a
lot of hype going on in the most mags about them. Their mag
NETWORK is not dead, but simply put on hold due to COMIC
PIRATES being engaged with other projects at the time being.
The memberstatus goes as follows : PJ DYNAMIX, FLIM FLAM,
DENEER, BRIX, ECHO, T.ERROR and LEECH.

* The English computer-magazine COMMODORE FORMAT is
bankerupt, since their mail-section quit, and therefore their
distribution went right out the window. COMMODORE FORMAT
was one of the very last C64 paper-magazines still around,
so lets hope someone else will take over the market soon.

* ALPHA FLIGHT had a pretty silent month compared to other
months, but they managed to add a couple of members anyhow.
SPECTATOR/XENON (swapper) left SLASH DESIGNS and
joined up with ALPHA FLIGHT as his 2nd group. RAMIREZ left
SUCCESS to join up aswell.

* FLASH INC. appears to be back in business, with BUMBOO
leaving JAM to join up. Let's hope this means something!!

Monthly Releases

+ MONTHLY RELEASES - THE MARCH RELEASES +
      _______________________________________
Be welcome to the MONTHLY RELEASES of MARCH 1994, part
of THE PULSE MAGAZINE april edition.
More than 10 years ago Commodore started producing this
lovely machine we are all addicted to.
Now in 1994 still about 15-20 full games get released each
month along with decent previews and well designed demos.

Let's see what happened during March and follow me on a
journey through the world of warez and boards.

Just break on through to the other side ...
                                    Jim Morrison
The US SCENE MARCH
________________
What everybody expected became reality. There is about
nothing left of the once so glorious fixing business in the
states.
LEGEND managed to bring TSM back with a decent game, but
rumours are saying that PWP had to do most of the fixing
himself. No sign of life from DEMONIX and EMPIRE, although
BOOZE of EMPIRE is said to be back for decent games.
The AVANTGARDE fixing section with PUDWERX did very well
this month, and finally PSI turned up with a real warezblast.
Also a new group called BYRONIC turned up, members are :
PEACEMAKER, CURLIN and VORTEX, all MOTIV 8 members.

THE US SCENE MARCH
________________
As a conclusion it actually looks like there are only 2 (!)
real native American (Canadian) fixers are still active. Namely
PUDWERX and STEALTH are doing something from time to time.

The GODFATHERS did not enter the warezworld with anything
and since CODERZ' leader LUCIFER got busted, they seem to
be out of business aswell.

The roots are vanished from the US, and European fixers are
taking over the leadership. A way into the future?

Hopefully not!
AVANTGARDE (Ger, UK, Swiss, USA, etc.) (2.Rank/13.3 Points)
__________________________v__________________
Everybody expected it and it became reality. PUDWERX is back
in full effect and gives his group the second spot this month.
They started march month with a killer preview of a Bulgarian
game called ARC DOORS (0.9) by NEW ENTRY, and continued
with a fixed version of the COSMOS DESIGNS/Markt+Technik
game CROSSFIRE (4.1). A cooperation crack with TALENT
followed and the earlier RED SECTOR release BATTLE (3.9)
from DOUBLE DENSITY got released on PAL/NTSC.
Finally the stylers managed to put out the fixed version of
another COSMOS DESIGNS game called SUPER NIBBLY (4.4),
the follow-up to NIBBLY'92. AVANTGARDE USA also put out
the earlier released puzzle DISC-O-VERY (3.5) with TALENT.
ALPHAFLIGHT (Ger, USA) (7.Rank/0.4 Points)
_____________________________________________
By the end of the month, they just managed to release a
preview of a game called NODULE (0.4)

EXCESS (Ger) (5.Rank/4.0 Points)
_____________________________________________
At the very beginning of the count out, they released a rather
bad game called SANTA CLAUS HELPER (1.6) by TMMB/CP
VERLAG on PAL which nobody else bothered to touch. Later
on MOVE (1.7) published by CP VERLAG found its way to the
drives. A typical puzzle game, released with an intro slapped
infront and untrained (-1). Finally they told us to be back soo
with a nice preview of LATER (0.7), a Polish ware.
LEGEND (Ger, Bel, UK, USA, AUS) (4.Rank/7.3 Points)
_____________________________________________
LEGEND returned to the warez scene for the very first time
this year, and put out the full version of the Australian full-
price game HYPERSPACE WARRIOR (7.3) put out and fixed
together with TSM.

MOTIV 8 (Den, Ger, etc.) (6.Rank/3.8 Points)
_____________________________________________
Left out last month due to strange happenings which are
apparently my fault I got to list SPANISH TREASURE (-) for
M8 in here. No points due to a CONSTRUCTION KIT. Following
this was the perfect fixed, but not at all running version of
EXPERIENCE (-) and another ADVENTURE CREATOR game,
MOTIV 8 (Den, Ger, Etc.) (6.Rank/3.8 Points)
_____________________________________________
THE CAIRO CONNECTION (-) by LOGYK SOFT. Finally they got
into the charts with the fixed release of ACE (3.8) from ART
PROJECT SOFT.

TALENT (UK, Ger, Fin, USA) (1.Rank/22.1 Points)
_____________________________________________
During their month of group changes, they managed to release
a couple of games which made them the number one group of
this month. DISC-O-VERY (3.5) by DOUBLE DENSITY fixed by
ROCKSTAR and PUDWERX were just the start-sign. They came
up with the co-op crack with AVANTGARDE featuring BATTLE
(3.9) from DOUBLE DENSITY which was fixed by PSI.
TALENT (UK, Ger, Fin, USA) (1.Rank/22.1 Points)
_____________________________________________
Later on they hit the boards with PHANTASM PRV (0.6) and
the fixed version of BLACK'N'WHITE (3.9) from KOKOMO/CP
VERLAG. The game was fixed by PSI though.
More warez came up, and MERCENARY 2 (4.5) from LABORATO-
RIUM KOMPUTEROWE APM was put out together with PSI
aswell. Finally a tool-release from COSMOS DESIGNS called
MULTICOLOR BITMAP EDITOR (-) prepared the scene for the
best quality game this month called GENLOC (5.7) from
X-AMPLE ARCHITECTURES/BOEDER put out on PAL only.

TRC+SCS (Hol, Ger, USA, etc.) (3.Rank/8.3 Points)
_____________________________________________
They started their personal competition this month with a jolly
good preview of SECRET OF ROBERT ROY (0.8) and another
preview called LIGHTPHASER ARCHERY (0.6). Two more games,
SOULS OF DARKON (3.5) running PAL/NTSC, a lame text-gfx
adventure, and COMET (3.4) by LOVELY BYTES, fixed by
MOREN were also put out by them.
Actually it looks like the only thing everybody is expecting
from them is LEMMINGS. Let's wait and see..

Satirica

+ SATIRICA - THE AUTOPSY OF THE SCENE +
     ____________________________________
Welcome dear readers to the absolutely ravishing and original
SATIRICA, about the ramshackled scene and its inhabitants.

This month we have a HUGE anniversary special for you, with
more NEWS and BACKGROUND than ever before. We also bring
back the popular SUPREME-SKINHEAD among the usual edition
of NATURES CORNER and THE BALLED AND UNSHAVED. But
the true special for this month, is the ANNUAL ACCADEMY
AWARDS - only in SATIRICA (who else would broadcast it?).

* Please note. SATIRICA is pure fiction, and should therefore
not be taken serious. All stories and reports written by DUKE.
* PETER is back to save the unshaved whales in the scene,
this time with AVANTGARDE. We spoke with PETER about his
plans for the future, but he seemed more interested in giving
me a hard time about what I just stepped on. But during the
meeting we did encounter a fit for fight PETER, who declared-
"Well!".

* HAIN continues his tour around every group in existance,
this time leaving TALENT to join up with F4CG. HAIN seemed
pleased with the decision, revealing to us that the uncertainty
of his next destination was what kept him going.

* Meanwhile at the house of NEWSCOPY/GENESIS PROJECT
"Writers-block? Never heard of it".
* ENDURO/FAIRLIGHT has now arranged for his posts to be
subtitled. It happend after popular demand, most people were
having difficulties making sense out of his posts. We spoke
with PARSON, who has helped ENDURO put subtitles on his
posts - "Wel, I belief tat wit tis nev ting, pepol liek me and
ENDURO sdand a mutch beter tjance geting atension on the
bords". The whole concept seems brilliant, although there is
a catch to it. It appears that the subtitles only come in
SWAHILI, SUOMI-FINISH and RUSSIAN. However, most people
seem to think, that SWAHILI would atleast give them an IDEA
of what ENDURO is talking about.

Meanwhile at the house of SECRET MAN/AFL
"RELAX will KICK, we just need an editor!!".
* The holidays brought upon the stores a brand new book from
SOLAR. The book entitled- "My Easterbunny" is a tribute to
his past as an Easterbunny. He explains through the book,
that he got the money for his C64 and modem by appearing as
an Easterbunny, and on top of that he got a lot of valuable
ideas of how to have sex. I am sure we can all imagine how the
bunny comes into the picture with the already crowded chicken
phenomenon - but SOLAR feels comfertable with the idea, that
atleast HE is getting his "weiner dipped".

* JUCKE is back in the nation-wide cinemas with an excellent
movie about his life-work as the astonishing and incredible
"BATHROOM-FURNITURE-REPAIRMAN". The movie opens in
LATVIA next month at 10 cents a ticket.
* BOD explained to an Italian newspaper how he was hassled by
the BOGEY-MAN in the early stages of his life. He blaims that
for still having to settle with living at home, although others
have accused him for being too hooked on his mother. However,
BOD got angry when questioned this, and shouted "How dare
you talk about my mommy this way you bogger!!!". According to
the police, the Italian reporter was kicked and sexualy abused
by BOD - who felt that it was "his duty to set an example" and
"I wanted to teach the rude reporter a lesson".

* ANCIENT MARINER was spotted at BROADWAY in NEW YORK
last month, where he wanted to try out his artistic skills, thi
time with SHAKESPEARE. He was dismissed early though, due
to his "To be, or not to be. What can that be?".
* The FAIRLIGHT godfather and mega-sex-god BACCHUS was
finally given away, putting the most coveted bachelor away
from the market. BACCHUS held a major party for his friends
the night before the weeding, where the highlights was when
he danced with the 3 hookers singing "That's me in the spot-
light - losing my virginity". - HAPPY honeymoon PONTUS, we
will be sure to cover every detail of it.. Heh!

* Meanwhile at the house of MENDRAKE/FAIRLIGHT
"If you can read, you are a brainless dickhead in my opinion".

             SATIRICA - QUITE SIMPLY RUDE

    + SUPREME-SKINHEAD RETURNS - EPISODE # 1 +
     _____________________________________
SATIRICA welcomes back the beloved and self-casted story,
about the unemployed (ed. and unshaved!!) SKINHEAD that one
day wakes up and realises that there is more to life than just
beating up old ladies and knocking up seriously deformed
drug-addicts on the street-corners. Being tired of it all, he
turns into SUPREME-SKINHEAD, and together with his partner
HARTMUT (the one in the pink underwear) he will fight to rid
the world of all living scum and people with a strange desire
for using the PC and the AMIGA for other things than playing
games! BUT, one man stands in his way. The evil and cunning
RAY COKES, whom we will learn more about as the story pro-
ceeds no doubt.
"Hey JOCHEN" cried HARTMUT, "Do you think I look a bit like
SENEAD O'CONNOR?". "Oh shut up you dumb unemployed fool,
I already told you that you remind me more of RIGHT SAID FRED
so stop giving me a hard time!" shouted JOCHEN while beating
HARTMUT on his balled spot. Yes, it was one of those great
mornings, that could give every skinhead an itch. The 90's has
no room for skinheads, that was what JOCHEN always said-
"People like us, not even the jews appreciate us anymore!!?!".
But JOCHEN and HARTMUT were very optimistic about their
future, they believed the NAZI's would get a second chance,
and maybe someone they knew could become the new leader.
HARTMUT knew, that if that happend, he was set for life with
what shaving-gello was concerned.
It was a nice morning, the sun was shining bright, it had all
the ingredients every NAZI hates. But it did not matter anyway
though, JOCHEN had made plans to stay at the SINGLE MEN OF
THE 90's bar all day anyway. HARTMUT followed, and they went
out the door. THE SINGLE MEN OF THE 90's bar was especially
crowded this day, which was quite remarkable considering it
only had 4-5 regular visitors, and an occasional newcomer now
and then. "Oye, what's up with all these people" JOCHEN cried
towards the owner of the bar PARSON. PARSON explained that
he had bought the rights to the annual skinhead awards, which
was ready to be launched this very day in his bar. "GREAT"
said HARTMUT, I cannot wait to see the list of the nominees in
the "most shinny spot" catagory. The atmosphere was great,
and the show was about to begin.
                              - TO BE CONTINUED.
+ NATURES CORNER - WATCHING THE LEAVES DROP +
    _________________________________________
Welcome to another edition of NATURES CORNER with your
host POWERPLANT of LEGEND (Scattered applause).

Howdy. This month we will speak with the newly assigned member
to AVANTGARDE, the former MAMBA-editor PETER, who is
back with a brand new book - THE WAY OF THE WHALES.

PWP : Tell me, what inspired you to write such a book? (Grin)

PTR : During my break, I spent a lot of time with the Hungarian
whales in Northern Norway. I met one whale, whom I fell
in love with later. This book is a tribute to her! Sigh..
+ The BALLED and UNSHAVED - a SATIRICA special +
     ________________________________________
Welcome back to another mindblasting and hilarious number of
the most Balled and Unshaved dudes in the scene, selected by
the SATIRICA monsters.

For those of you, who may not have seen the last edition, and
therefore missed out on the first edition of The BALLED and
UNSHAVED, here follows a discription of what it is about..

The BALLED and UNSHAVED takes place in the SATIRICA villa
in Iceland, where a couple of totally different sceners gets
the chance to spend an intire month together. When the month
is over, we invite them to tell us what the visit was like.
This month we invited MOREN/SCS+TRC, ENDURO/FAIRLIGHT,
DERBYSHIRE RAM/AVANTGARDE and MAJESTY/TALENT.

Here we go with the comments/complaints about the stay from
all the participants.

MOREN says,
Welp, the other Balled people were okay, and I liked the place
allright - eventhough I think spending a month on a cemetery
was pretty lame, but who cares? What can I say, except from
the other dudes being okay, I think they were pretty stupid.
Take this: I was sitting there all alone enjoying a beer, and
all of a sudden a great wind came on- and the beer was gone.
Quite strange, because now MAJESTY was holding a beer!???!
ENDURO says, (Translated by the SATIRICA staff)
I thought the month was really cool, I especially enjoyed the
times I had with MAJESTY kicking me because I refused to look
at his wiener. Anyway, I am really proud to have been selected
among the top elite of the scene to do this report, and I just
feel sad that I have to go back to doing REFORMATION now.
Anyway, before I go, I would just like to remind you that my
name is ENDURO, EEENNNDDUUURROO. Now I am famous, yeah!

DERBYSHIRE RAM says,
Jolly good month I'd say. I liked meeting young responsible men
like MAJESTY, whom I do believe will make it in the business
industry when he grows up. I also liked speaking with ENDURO
and his interpreter, it was an experience.
MAJESTY says,
The month SUCKED major. I was told that I could drink all the
beers I wanted, but how was I supposed to know that I had to
pay for them myself? Anyway, I beat up the barkeeper, and
then it became a good month afterall. The other people were
great, but who is ENDURO anyway? MOREN kept on nagging me
because I stole one of his beers, and DERBYSHIRE RAM (eheh,
I said RAM!) was a jolly person aswell.

That concludes this months get together of the BALLED and
UNSHAVED. We will return next month with a bunch of just as
interesting sceners. But if you REALLY want to be among the
next pack, simply send us your address, and we will send the
swat-team to your house. APRIL-FOOLS.. (NOT) -WIGGLE JOY!
       + THE ANNUAL ACCADEMY AWARDS 1994 +
        ________________________________
SATIRICA presents our special of the Annual Accademy Awards
brought to you live from HOLLYWOOD. Tonight we will present
some of the very best movies released in 1993, being rewarded
with the most prestigous award in the history of movie-making,
the CHICKEN SALAD CAKE.

This year we present to you the host of the Annual Accademy
Awards 1994, better known from his marvelous comedy "RICHIE
GOES AVANTGARDE" which won an incredible 10 chicken salad
cakes, an astonishing world-record (I still think he should
have let RICHIE eat his own award!". Please welcome, the host
of the Annual Accademy Awards 1994 - SOLAR of F4CG.
(Unbelievable applause)
Thank you very much. It is a great honour for me to be the
presenter of the Annual Accademy Awards. It is the kind of
thing that people only dream about, but because of my succes
with "Richie goes Avantgarde" last year, I was the only sound
choice from the Accademy. Anyway, I would have asked the host
from last year to come up and join me, but when SKATER told
me to pull his finger, I turned away in disgust.
(Scattered mumbling)

Tonight we present BEST PICTURE and BEST ACTOR. We would
have included a whole bunch of other catagories, but I was
hungry and accidently ate all the awards. Sorry about that.
(Buuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh)
But before we start with the first catagory, The BEST ACTOR,
here is a few words from our sponsors. - Two hours later.

Welcome back - WAAAKKEEE UUUPPP. Thank you. The year of
1993 brought to us a lot of decent movies. Well, not really but
some of them proved to be somewhat entertaining. Here is the
list of the nominees for BEST ACTOR of 1993.

In between we will show clips from the movie in question.

PSYCHOBILLY for "RED SECTOR's LIST"
"Damn you fools. The only reason why you guys are on my back
about our 200 members is because that you are jealous. And
as long as we have a great group-spirit, it suits me fine".
POWERPLANT for "THE REMAINS OF THE GROUP"
"LEGEND is still alive, the only reason why we haven't put
out anything serious for ages, is the lack of games from the
English stores. And I'll be damned if I have to lower myself to
cracking German or Polish games".

RADAR for "THE FUGITIVE"
"Everyone is on my back, there is no board where I can feel
safe. Therefore I have to go the distance, and try to find
satisfaction with my real life. Ohhh gooood I am so miserable".

BOD for "IN THE NAME OF THE TOASTER"
"You wouldn't be so tough if I had brought along my toaster
would you? Don't get smart with me old bogger".
JAZZCAT for "DINGO PARK"
"Damn those filthy dingos. I better get my laser-gun and blow
them to pieces. They are a threat to civilised people like me-
BAAAANG... Burn baby burn".

Those were the nominees for BEST ACTOR 1993. To present
the award, please welcome PUDWERX.
(Superb atmosphere, applause)

Thank you. The CHICKEN SALAD CAKE for BEST ACTOR 1993
goes to : RADAR for "THE FUGITIVE"

Unfortunately RADAR was unable to meet up, he was afraid
that someone - or more precisely all of you, would beat him up!
SOLAR RETURNS TO THE STAGE, THE AUDIENCE IS INVITED
TO GIVE HIM A HAND. (Frustrated applause).

Thank you very much. We succeeded fairly well in giving away
the BEST ACTOR award, so let's move on to the highlight of
this show - which by the way is sponsored by ANTICHRIST and
SORCERESS, the BEST MOVIE 1993 presentation. Along with
every movie follows a description of what the movie is about.

RED SECTOR's LIST - directed by MISTER PRESIDENT
"Red Sector's List is a brilliant movie, which is about a group
in great need of cleaning. In the beginning it holds over 200
members, but later many are thrown overboard and it all ends
with most of the members quitting, while some joined TALENT".
PHILADELPHIA - directed by SUPREME
"Philadelphia is a very sentimental movie about a gay-skinhead
with AIDS. The ironic part of this movie however, is that the
main-character HARTMUT (hmm!?) gains hair instead of loosing
it. Philadelphia ends with HARTMUT turning into a heavy-metal
freak that moves to Philadelphia to help hairy old black men
through their pregnancy?".

IN THE NAME OF THE TOASTER - directed by BOD
"In the name of the toaster is the only movie this year staring
and directed by the very same person. The movie is about a
young Englishman who builds a close friendship with his family
toaster. The toaster falls in love with BOD, and protects him
through the movie from being slain by city-vilans".
THE REMAINS OF THE GROUP - directed by WESTBAM
"The remains of the group is a movie about a cracking-group
that was put on earth by god. Time passed by, and the will of
its maker slowly faded away. The movie is quite sad, and it
is almost like looking at a person with AIDS who slowly is
loosing grip of life".

THE FUGITIVE - directed by MAJESTY
"The final nominee is a real action-packed adventure about a
very disliked person, who is being haunted by everyone on the
boards he calls. One day he decides to quit it all, and enter
real-life (something he has but only heard about). But as it
turns out, he is more haunted in real-life, so he packs his bag
and enters a circus as a black sheep clown".
Those were the 5 nominees for BEST MOVIE 1993. To present
the winner, please welcome NEWSCOPY.
(Superb atmosphere, applause)

Thank you. The CHICKEN SALAD CAKE for BEST MOVIE 1993
goes to : IN THE NAME OF THE TOASTER - directed by BOD.
(Crowd goes wild, applause)

Thank you very much indeed. I cannot wait to put my teath in
this chicken salad cake, yum. Anyway, I would like to send my
thanks to my mom for buying a toaster, which gave me inspira-
tion to write this movie. I would also like to thank JAZZCAT
for helping me with advertising for it on the boards, and just
basically to all the people that saw the movie. THANKS!

Global Report

     + GLOBAL REPORT - ANNOUNCEMENTS/REPORTS +
      _______________________________________
Welcome to the 10th edition anniversary special of GLOBAL
REPORT. This month we have got a true special for you, with
more text than ever before.

We accept party-reports and invitations, aswell as stories
that concerns the scene in GLOBAL REPORT. Here follows this
months program :

* THE PULSE MAGAZINE 10th edition anniversary comments.
* TRSI/SMASH DESIGNS party report.
* 1994's CEBIT MEETING report.
* SCS+TRS+SCL party invitation.
+ THE PULSE MAGAZINE - ANNIVERSARY COMMENTS +
   _________________________________________
Due to this special occasion, CROSSFIRE met up with some of
the known sceners on the European and American boards, to
record their view on THE PULSE MAGAZINE celebrating its
10th edition anniversary. Here is what they said.

* TRICKET/MOTIV 8
Thanks for a "NICE" mag, one of the only mags showing up
regulary these days!

* COUNT-ZERO/TALENT
Keep up the excellent work done sofar to save the scene from
dying at all. Especially the good work on the list :)
* DEFF/AVANTGARDE
I personally call THE PULSE the # 1 magazine these days. Only
PROPAGANDA could beat it if they only would release it once
a year! :) I always wondered what that big "T" stands for in
the menu. So what?

* JAZZCAT/LEGEND
Well, the scene is slowly fading, but will be around for a
while. A magazine such as The PULSE gives groups inspiration.
Thanks for the arguments, laughs and mooded emotions over
the last 10 issues.

* STORMRIDER/F4CG
Congrats!!! Long Live The PULSE!!!
* CBA/TRC+SCS
I guess the magazine has all in it to give a fair view of the
C64 cracking scene as it is happening on the boards. Since
SHOCK had been gone and PROPAGANDA slowed down, The
PULSE kept on going with really active editors. First outfit
made it slightly boring to read it, but as soon as the new
outfit arrived, it became for me THE magazine.
Hopefully you guys keep on doing the good work, because who
else would be doing it.

* L.A.STYLE/GENESIS PROJECT
The PULSE is one of the mags that are released frequantly,
that makes a good impression.

* ANCIENT MARINER/ALPHA FLIGHT
I never respect the PAL only magazines for the simple reason
that they spread them on American boards, but the Americans
are unable to read them, and at one time The PULSE was such
a mag. But now that The PULSE is PAL/NTSC and I have had a
chance to read through the magazine, I instantly enoyed it.
The format is nice, and I like the text it contains. It is
definately one of my favorite magazines, if not my favorite.
It's also nice that it comes out monthly, and usually almost on
time every month. Keep up the great work!

* MAX/ALPHA FLIGHT
COOL! I really like The PULSE. Even when PB was mainly res-
ponsible for the charts. Anyway, nice mag although.
* JAYCE/GENESIS PROJECT
The mag's kewl, but I enjoyed the older issues better, but
that might be because I was swapping more then. Anywayz, The
PULSE is probably the ruling mag. Keep up the kewl work!

That was all the Anniversary congratulations we managed to
get in time for our deadline, we send our most humble thanks
to everyone that showed their appreciation for the work we
have put in the last 10 editions/months.

We will return on our 20th edition anniversary with a lot more
comments from the sceners, but I guess you will have to wait
another 11 months for that (THE PULSE MAGAZINE has its
summer-break in JULY).
         + TRSI/SMASH DESIGNS PARTY-REPORT +
        ________________________________
          Written By CURLIN/MOTIV8/BYRONIC!
           ____________________________
Saturday March 12th (3 PM) JIHAD, ZIPPER, PEACEMAKER and
I met in Neuss to drive to Cologne where the party was held.
                                             - --- -
After half an hour of driving, and having fun, we had to search
another half hour for the hall, when we finally arrived at the
party place at 4 PM. The first known dudes we met there was
AIRWOLF/GENESIS PROJECT and ASLIVE/ex.AVANTGARDE,
they were both already boozing. Now it was time to enter the
party-place and what did we see? Just THREE lovely C64'ers
and only PC's and Amiga's. -Next Page!
ANONYM/PADUA was working on his demo for the competition,
and CHOTAIRE/ex.PANDORA was composing some music. Nobody
really took care of doing something REAL on the computers,
all dudes were instead drinking all that cheap beer, maybe not
so much for the beer itself, but for the nice chicks behind the
bar, let me say they were both 16 years old, not bad AT ALL!!!
                                             - --- -
At 6 PM the four of us were already very drunk and didn't re-
cognize that much, but I remember meeting DEFF, DARKLORD,
THORN, NEVIS, JACK ALIEN/AVT, IRATA/TRSI, ANO+LEO/
PADUA, DR.JONES/X-RATED and MR.MISTER/PLAYER.
                                             - --- -
Time went on and the people became more and more drunk, and
the more they drank, the more aggressive they got.
IRATA/TRSI was attacked with some CS-GAS, and I had a little
"discussion" with that guy named MR.MISTER.
                                             - --- -
The funniest thing was the fact that I met a girl I also met at
RADWAR V7, she is a friend of IRATA's. Later on I went into my
car without her, but I don't remember anything about that now.
                                             - --- -
AVANTGARDE and PADUA took part in the C64-INTRO-COMPE-
TITION, where AVANTGARDE won both the 1st and the 3rd place
with PADUA running with the 2nd place. PADUA then avenged
by running off with the 1st place in the DEMO-COMPETITION
instead.
                                             - --- -
                                    -Next Page!-
Nobody went sleeping and the party went on till the early mor-
ning and some kind of breakfast was arranged by the organiz-
ers. PEACEMAKER nearly talked to CROSSFIRE the whole
night, using the ONLY telephone in the hall (NOT very consid-
ered of him! .ED).
                                             - --- -
The funniest thing was also, that some people from MARKT'N'
TECHNIK (the ones who makes the magazine 64'ER!) showed up
and also GRAVENREUTH GUENNI was present, he said that he
has specialized on PC and Amiga-people, so there was no dan-
ger of being caught by him.
                                             - --- -
The VERY best thing was that the beer was FOR FREE in the
late evening. -Next Page!-
Let me say, the party was FUNNY, but FAR BELOW AVERAGE
anyway!!!
                                             - --- -
Nearly forgot to mention, that MARKUS WIEDERSTEIN himself
also visited the party place, sadly though only for a very
short while.
                                             - --- -
Finally I have to tell you, that the party could have been bet-
ter if more C64-dudes would have been present. At 12 PM the
party ended, and JIHAD, PEACEMAKER, ZIPPER and I went
back home to our daily duties - But with HUGE hangovers!!!
                                             - --- -
                                            THE END!
                                             - --- -
+ CEBIT - PARTY ALL THE TIME +
            __________________________
Exclusively for THE PULSE MAGAZINE I was assigned to do a
report about 1994's CEBIT meeting.

Better take this warning and skip it if you're not in the mood
to follow the unbelievable stories I am going to tell you on
the next couple of pages.

But let's start with the ordinary part which must be more or
less standard for every party report.

Who was there ?

CEBIT 1994
________
Actually this is a good question and I will hardly try to tell
you, but as I didn't return to normality since then, I may miss
some people.

MAJESTY/TALENT, PB+TERMO/retired (new group), ERIC/
LASER, CRISP/TRSI (not sure), KREATOR/EB, TBB/TALENT,
FATMAN/DYTEC, THORN+NEVIS/AVT, COMMUNIST/TALENT,
ANO+some others/PADUA/PHONEDATION, OB/LAZINESS,
SECRET MAN/AFL and some other AFL'ers, a few nice girls
and no GRAFFITY WALL.
Oops. Well, also EDDIE/MOTIV 8, TOXYC/???, STREET TUFF,
TRIGGER, PARSON, TNM and some others showed up.
CEBIT 1994
________
Missing: HOK, JACK ALIEN, DEFF + some more AVT bastards,
SILVER, BREGO, SCAT, DARKLORD (didn't see, but was there),
IRATA, SUPREME(?), ROUGH, CHRYSAGON, FREESTYLE (j/k),
STONE, PEACEMAKER and a lot of fun with LEGEND, as none
of them showed up.

Anyway, let's start where the party began.

MAJESTY left the house early in the morning ... ehrm, stop ...
REWIND ... Yep, well arrival was kinda late at eleven in the
morning and finding the goddamn Commodore Stand was even
harder for a couple of people, as it moved to hall 7 ...
CEBIT 1994
________
But when GREENFROG/LASER and me managed to get through
to it, we found MAJESTY along with a couple of other people,
already making the hall a place to stay the rest of the day.
Boozing around and laughing at Amiga and Game Boy users was
among kicking rather undead crawling creatures around the
biggest fun we all had.

COMMUNIST promised his butt to PARSON, and MAJESTY tried
to shoot SECRET MAN. So far a usual meeting I guess.
Anyway, the funniest thing was a rather old lady from Commo-
dore supporting the TALENT crew with some money for a box
of beer (and to get rid of us?).
CEBIT 1994
________
Due to the Graffity Wall being removed, most of the neighbour
stands of Commodore got a new outfit and the place was filled
all over the place with empty beer cans.
What actually proves, that MARCO never leaves the house
without a bag filled with Karlsquell or something similar.

When the official party was over around 17:00 PM we managed
to get to EDDIE's place and kill the rest of our stock.
Namely a bottle of applejuice. Nah, the real stuff, not just
juice. Around 23:00 PM most of the coolies like MAJESTY, PB,
TERMO, TNM, COMMUNIST, TRIGGER and some others met in
the IRISH PUB.
CEBIT 1994
________
Make sure on your next trip to Hannover to rest THERE. Best
Ciders you can get around!
One or two hours later we moved our asses to, ehrm. SOME kind
of disco called INDEX. NEVER, NEVER enter it! Unless you are
not PB. Fucking 'Grufties' all over the place. (exp.: Those
people who like to sleep in cascades...)
After a couple of beers GREENFROG and me managed to get
two chicks moved, and were vanished until 8 or 9 o'clock next
morning, when two half-dead alcoholics took some sleep at
EDDIE's place. GRIN!
Anyway, returned to Bremen at 17:00 PM and took the rest
of the sleep we hardly exceeded.
CEBIT 1994
________
Finally I would like to say : MEET YA NEXT YEAR. Same place
and time, and another one...

For all of you calling out. PB posted a list of 'COOL' discos
a while back on FORPLAY. DON'T FOLLOW HIS ADVICES!

Never again you'll meet me in that disco or whatever it is
called. Hmm, not that good sofar, won't get any better :)

Gotta run ... for more Tequila and Jack Daniels ...

Yeah!!! Another month has passed and we in the staff of THE
PULSE MAGAZINE has once more chosen a board to give you
a closer insight on..
                                                ---
This month we decided our victim to be:
         ____________________________
                THE EVIL ISLAND
                _____________
..and as always, we bribed the sysop with candy to talk to us,
cause that seemed to be the only way! No seriously, the sysop
BRIAN, better known as ANCIENT MARINER of ALPHA FLIGHT
was kind enough to answer our questions (FOR FREE!)..
TP = THE PULSE MAGAZINE
AM = ANCIENT MARINER/AFL
_____________________
TP: Hi BRIAN! Your board has been online for how long? Only a
little over half a year ago your board was totally unknown,
(..around summer-time '93, that was!), and now, only a littl
more than half a year later, it has reached elite-standard.
How does it feel to be one of the leading sysop's in the 64-
   scene today?

AM: I used to run a board a long time ago in the early to mid'
1980's, when the American scene still existed, it was a rat-
her small board, but at the time I was considered elite.
Then when I turned 16 I wanted to drive and to get out of..
(..continued!)
_________
..the house. So I sold all my equipment and quit the scene.
Then recently about 5-6 years later I was over at my wife's
house and her brother had a C128. That's when I decided to
get another computer, and once I got my equipment, it was
only natural to run another board. I started EVIL ISLAND
on March 27, 1993, and by June'93 or so MARC/AFL called
from the advertising I had done on FORPLAY, which is local
to me, and things went from there, me and MARC became in-
stant friends and one thing led to another. By the end of
the summer ALPHA FLIGHT had done a great job building
the board up. As far as being satisfied, I'd say I AM, to an
extent, I don't think any sysop is ever COMPLETELY..
(..continued!)
__________
..satisfied with his board, there is always something you
wish you had equipment-wise or something you want to do,
but just don't have the time. But for the most part I'm very
happy running the board. I just hope SOMEDAY it will be as
popular as some of the other major boards, then I might be
   TOTALLY satisfied.. Maybe! Hehe!...

TP: Recently there was a scandal with some lamer formatting
various boards. Your board was formatted once like the
rest, but 3 (!!!) times. Please let us in on the COMPLETE
   story!
                                    -Next Page!-
AM: FORMATTING. I don't really like talking about the format-
ting because that is exactly what the lamer likes us to do,
but basically someone knew the backdoor to C*Base, and
since I wasn't too familar with C*Base at the time, I had
taken NO precautions to safeguard the board from those
sort of attacks, so it was quite easy for the lamer to get
in and format the whole system-drive. But the funny thing
was the last time the lamer formatted the system I had just
taken a backup, so when I got home from work I just dumped
my backup on the ramlink and everything was running again
in about 5 minutes. The only word of advice I have for
other C*Base operators, ELITE or not, is to make backups
of your whole system-disk ATLEAST once a week. I usually
backup TEI about twice or three times a week since it
(..Continued!)
__________
..takes about 4-5 minutes with the ramlink.

TP: Please give us the story of your board from the day you
   opened it, till these days.

AM: The day I opened it was not much of a board, I started out
running the board to local lamers with a handfull of semi-
elites on UCBBS 1.3. At that time it was slow, since there
was no ramlink or other good hardware online. Then I got
my CMD HD, started calling some elite-boards and got more
and more people calling it. Finally when ALPHA FLIGHT
over we weeded all lamers and started over.
(..Continued!)
__________
We sticked with UCBBS for a few months and then we all
voted to give C*Base a shot. Anyone who sets up C*Base
for the first time knows that it's a task for sure to get
everything correct and not have crashes. We are finally
to the point now, where the board rarely crashes, which is
real nice knowing when you come home it still runs. It has
had its low points though, when bluebox died, it went from
30-34 calls a day down to about 15-20, and even at the
moment its not doing as well as it did when everyone used
to call out, it seems as though we have lost more than a
few people in the scene lately, all boards seem to be slow
at the moment. Just recently has it been picked up.
(..Continued!)
__________
Right now, equipment-wise it's doing better than EVER be-
fore, and it's faster than ever before.

TP: Could you please give us some informations about the set-
up of the board, such as software used, facilities online,
   etc.

AM: Right now it's running on CYBORG Mod'd C*Base, it has 7
sub-boards, of which 2 are private for higher access. It
has 9 UD-dir's, 2 of which are reserved for higher access
aswell. It has an original sub, and an originals-drive on-
line for people to trade their originals.
(..Continued!)
__________
Lately we have been trying to concentrate on requests,
we are trying to build a large request-base for users. We
want our users to know, if they need something from the
past, we'll do anything we can to get it online. I have MORE
than a FEW users who has a very extensive library, myself
included, and can get just about anything. I am really ex-
cited about that, since I am a collector of all old wares.

TP: What equipment do you use?

AM: Equipment.. At the moment the ISLAND runs on a Commodore
   128, a 5 MegaByte ramlink w/battery backup, ..
(..Continued!)
__________
..a CMD HardDrive, an Aprotek Mini 24oo, 2 1581 drives.
I have had almost "0"-equipment-failure, and the ramlink is
like a god in my eyes. If I ever had to give up my ramlink,
I would stop running the board. It makes my life so much
easier and the board so much faster, that I could NEVER
   go without one again!!!

TP: Thank you for this nice little chat we've had. We in the
staff of THE PULSE Magazine wishes you the best for the
future, although looking at your board, I doubt you'll need
such "best wishes", since it all seems to be running very
   smoothly. RIGHT after the book!
AM: Welpz!!! It's been a pleasure chatting with THE PULSE,
greets go out to my groupmates in ALPHA FLIGHT, and all
the groups out there supporting this great machine. I defi-
nately want to thank Marc and the other AFL-members for
making T.E.I what it is today. To the rest: Get connected
and I will see you there! Peace, later!! AM/ALPHA FLIGHT

Profile

         + PROFILE - THE APRIL PORTRAIT +
            ____________________________
This month we planned an interview with PROPAGANDA editor
and GENESIS PROJECT boss NEWSCOPY, but eventhough he
promised to do it for DUKE, he did not come through.

Therefore I (COUNT-ZERO) was assigned to do an interview
with a person who has really done something for the scene in
the past.

On the other hand this dude is still active (in a way) and also
joined Tp with AVANTGARDE lately.

Please welcome, FREESTYLE of AVANTGARDE..
TP: Yo Thomas. Nice to have you on the line finally. Let us
begin with the usual question, please tell us something
   about yourself.

FS: The most fitting adjectives would be some kinda insane,
crazy, totally addicted, tending to drink too much alcohol
when I'm out, open for new things. I'm actually 22 yrs old,
blond hair, 1.83 metres and my big toe is about 3 cms
(ed: which actually tells us something about your phallus).

TP: I guess quite a lot of the lately coming up people would
like to know which groups you already saw dying with
being a part of them for some time.

FS: I started in 1987 with a Swiss group called FUTURE VISION.
After about 2 yrs the group died and on the CRAZY STAR-
DOM party we all joined a new group: FRESH. At that point
I started learning some ML and did my first steps on doing
   intros and demos.
In 1990 FRESH fell apart 'coz our main cracker FELIX
joined up with CRAZY, and me and a friend had the oppor-
tunity to join one of my all time favourite groups: The
ruling CO-OP between IKARI and TALENT.
We were taken in as the main coders, but due to my lazy-
ness and military service I got booted after about half a
year and re-joined after a couple of months, then got
kicked again because of personal disagreements with BOD.

FS:.. At that point of time the atmosphere in the CO-OP was
really bad. The consequence was the split up and IKARI
died. Some months later RICHIE called me up out of a
sudden and asked me if I'd be interested in rebuilding
ILLUSION together with him, FIST, HERO, PUDWERX,
SAURON and PRODIGY. Looking back at that period I'd
say that it was the funniest time I ever had in the scene.
The group went down after PUDWERX and PRODIGY quit
and after letting lamers like GREG, SUSI UZI, BRETT and
   SERPENT join in.
The rest of the story fairly everybody should know, as
ILS died and I lately joined up with AVANTGARDE.
When we brought FORUM and TO back we briefly thought
about restarting ILS, but we dropped those intentions
FS:.. due to different reasons.

TP: After this rather long story about your awesome and
boring journey through half of the scene, let's do
something decent again and start a little BRAINSTORMING.

FS[ Okay, let it roll..

GREG - Reason for ILS dying.
MOTIV8 - Hard ... Crappy games..
AVANTGARDE - (Silence) Manyfriends.
GAMES - Ehrm.. Fun to play 'em.
THE FORUM - My favourite BBS ever.
EMPIRE - (More silence) BOOZE is a good fixer.
... Cont ...

AFL - Nice to see their return.
HOK - I regard him as one of my best friends in the
            scene (debby-story...)
RADAR - Missing his rags.
Fav.FOOD - Chinese (ed: different).
BOARDS - Entering the REAL SCENE.
NEWCOMERS -Too late.
PARTIES - Always hard to remember after a hang-over.
CIGARETTES - Hard to quit.
DOPE - Legalize it.
EURO-FIXERS - Sadthing. Not many US-guys left.
YOURSELF - Lazy dude.
TP: Hm, lotsa time for a Brainstorm, but as soon as we get
Virtual Reality nothing can be hidden anymore. Alright,
let's continue with your REAL life. Tell the readers some
stories about YOU AND THE GIRLS.

FS: Ehrm. I haven't been very successful lately, 'coz my last
girl friend turned lesbian (ed: gives us an objective view
about your abilities .. in bed with a lesbian .. grin). But
things seem to become better and I lately had a comeback
   on the market.

TP: Alright, fine with me so far ... What hardware config are
you actually using and what do you want to get rid off or
   still own.
FS: Boring ... a C64d, 2 41's, a Final Cart (wanna replace it
for ages by an AR, but guess why I didn't so far ... lazy)
1 Sanyo Monitor, Datasette, Joyboard II, 700 Sony 2DD
Discs ... and so on ... My relationship is close enough to
   keep it forever.
Lately the 64 got a bigger bro', a HIGHSCREEN 386/25.
(Ed: Lame) ... I want to get rid of it again to get 486/60.

TP: Hm, even my hardware is by far better than that, but if
   ya're satisfied...
Another hot spot would be your relationship towards the
scene nowadays and what you think about the fashions
coming up lately (SEUCKs, Creator stuff, etc.).

FS: I'm pretty disappointed about the developments of the
scene, mainly of the warez getting released. There's
nearly no decent full-price company left, which is still
producing games. Further the American scene is more or
less dead. I miss all the fun I had with the Americans on
the boards and conferences. With their disappearance I
lost a lot of motivation in calling out.
If Terminal Obsession and The Forum wouldn't have been
taken up again lately, I'd have already quit.

TP: Well, actually I'm running out of questions, so let's speed
this up a little bit and continue with the usual stuff which
has to be placed at the end of nearly every interview.
Whom are your best friends in the scen, past and today?
FS: Ehrm ... This question is pretty unfair. I'm sure I'd forge
a lot of guys I like so I just answer on this question with
the statement that most of my good scene-friends
   nowadays are in AVT.

TP: This finally leads us to the question: Who has given you
the most reason in the past to do some decent ragging on
   them?

FS: Suzi, Greg, Brett and some Legend guys walking on my
   nerves. (Ed: That's all?)

TP: OK, any final comments towards some people?
   (Hint: People like it aggressive.)
FS: Greetings to LEGEND ... It's always fun to be in war with
you guys. And a little 'KISS MY ASS' to CROSSFIRE who
wanted to teach me what the word friendship means ...

TP: Allright, nothing original coming to either your or my mind
so I guess I have to add that this interview was done under
extreme time-pressure due to NEWSCOPY not pulling him-
self together to do the interview he promised.

   10 (8) ANTIC PRODUCTIONS 13
* CREST succeeds in holding the number one spot without
having to trade it with OXYRON this month - they have had
it for months now. Meanwhile OXYRON drops down to third
place, but I predict they will be back next month.

* CENSOR DESIGNS moves up two places to the 2nd place. It
has been a while since they were located in such a confertable
position in any chart, but to be honest, they do not deserve
it as much as others would do.

* FAIRLIGHT enters the chart and lands on position 7. With
the latest SKAANELAND and their party-demo, they are sure
to stay in the charts for a couple of months. Meanwhile FHI
moves down and NOICE says goodbye to the top 10.

   10 (-) AXIS/OXYRON 14
* CROSSBOW remains the number one for the second month in
a row. Not much changed this month anyway, as the TOP 6
remains unchanged.

* ZODIAC/FLASH INC. is still to be seen in the charts in most
of the magazines. I do hope that the voters will wake up and
realise that he has done nothing worth voting for in ages, so
please disclude him when voting in the future.

* SLAMMER showed up in most of the charts, and could be
expected to break the charts in a couple of months.

* AXIS re-enters the charts for the second time, while KING
FISHER is pushed out for the second time aswell. Oh dear!
  + BEST GRAPHICIANS - APRIL 1994 + [Legal charts]

   - (-) CARRION/ELYSIUM 13
* ELECTRIC collected enough votes to budge CREEPER who
were sent off to the third place after having been the # 1 for
a couple of months.

* OGAMI moves up to the second place, and with his latest
work in SKAANELAND he could very well become the new number
one very soon - it was quite astonishing.

* CRUISE moves up the charts like a rocket, but it seems but
only a one time trip - we will see next month. Meanwhile ROB
moves down three places, and can now be found on 9th place.

* BIZ KID is sent out of the charts, while CARRION is welcomed
by the voters and shares the 9th place with ROB/CAMELOT.

   10 (-) RED DEVIL/FAIRLIGHT 7
* You know the drill. Once again SYNDROM and JEROEN TEL
switch places, and this time with the advantage for SYNDROM
who is in control in April month.

* DRAX, DANKO and A-MAN keeps their position, although I
would have liked to see other musicians instead of DANKO and
A-MAN on these places. DRAX is quite active again, and most
people have taken note of this, and votes are raining in on
him like in the old days.

* COMPOD has made a lot of great music lately, for that he is
rewarded with a place in the top 10. Also RED DEVIL enters the
charts, possibly due to his great music-collections. MOON is
finally discharged, while JEFF had to leave early. A shame!
OVERALL COMMENT from the editor.. [Legal charts]

The charts are really beginning to shape up, considering all
the new names that keeps coming up. I understand the dispair
of the voters, it is not always that easy to keep track of
who is doing what, and who is still around. But make sure to
pay attention to the releases, and reward them after your
appreciation. That is what voting should be all about anyway.

CREST still seems to have a spell on the voters, without
releasing one single demo for ages, they have achieved to
stay in the top of the charts, this month figuring as the best
demo group, with CROSSBOW still in the voters opinion the
most favourable coder. But hey, sooner or later it is pay-time.

COMPANY the unbeatable co-operation, without doubt the
best cracking group around in the voters opinion.

+ ILLUSION is dead, so please stop voting for them. How many
times do you guys need to hear this?

* AVANTGARDE is the big surprise of 1994, but still they have
not got any remarkable votes in any of the magazines. They
belong in the top 5 for sure. Also TALENT is being denied the
votes they deserve, so get a grip of yourselves voters.

* CHROMANCE moves up four places to the 3rd place, while
TRANCE are on the way out after a weak period.

* BURGLAR/SUCCESS takes over the number one spot from
POWERPLANT, who has held the prestigous position for quite
a while. Nice to have a deserving person back on the thrown.

* JACK ALIEN/AVANTGARDE re-enters the charts in great
style, as he takes the 3rd position and could put pressure on
POWERPLANT in the coming months. Also HAIN (now a member
of F4CG) and COUNT-ZERO/TALENT/PSI jumped high into the
charts, landing a comfertable position. Great to have some new
faces in here for a change.

* CROSSFIRE moves up the table, with DERBYSHIRE RAM has
to move a few places down probably due to his break. SAURON,
CHRYSAGON, BOD and DOC were sent out and replaced.
OVERALL COMMENT from the editor.. [Illegal charts]

Ahh.. Finally we saw some new faces in the cracker charts, it
was about time aswell. Regulars like BOD, DOC and SAURON
were punished for letting down the scene with no cracks for
ages, which is good - finally the voters react on laziness.

Another good news is that it appears that eventhough it is
limited with what the game-productions are concerned, there
still seems to be enough competition, so that we can see a
couple of groups in action fighting for the title. As long as
there is tough competition, the scene is sure to stay alive.
But hey, just like that song- "Things can only get better",
there is room for being optimistic.

* SPLASH by ACCURACY the new number one, although I really
find the magazine charts to be the most corrupt charts in the
scene today. Here it really is obvious, that magazines are
voted for because of the text-capacity, and not the quality
of the text. Any idiot can put together 10 chapters about
music, football, jokes, etc. but only a real editor can write
about the scene - just a remark to the mags out there that
includes real-life chapters. To me it is just a bad excuse for
not having any knowledge about the scene, and therefore
being forced to include chapters that has no relevans what
so ever to the scene. Pardon my direct opinion, but it really
makes me sick to read a magazine, where the editor claims they
are for a better scene, and then he fires off bull about the
latest music-albums, as if anybody cared.

Now we introduce a brand new chart to the OVERALL CHARTS.
This one is called OVERALL CHART, simple as that. It holds all
the points given to groups/persons in the many charts the
overall charts represents. Points given to a person would go
to the group that he is a member of, the same goes with the
points given for a magazine or a swapper for example.

We will include the OVERALL CHART every month, always loca-
ted in the end of the chapter. If you have any questions or
complaints about this decision, be sure to let us know.

STEVE, about the coding:
Again there's not much to say, as this is more of a graphical
slideshow than a demo. The graphics are awesome though.
Skaaneland is a part of Sweden that smelly, disgusting vikings
stole in godwhoknowswhen. And that is why I would like to
officially declare war to Sweden. Why? Well, when you stole
Skaaneland in wheneveritwas, you stole it from Denmark. Now,
I know I wasn't born then, but I still remember how I laughed
when you stuffed little green things with funny doorknobs into
our sheep!! I can never forget that nor forgive you.
So, give Skaaneland back to Denmark immidiately, or you will
find yourself at war with me, a shoemaker, and 28 cameldrivers
with names that have K in it.

NEPTUNE and VIC, about the graphics:
This allgraphicsandnocode demo contains (as usual) some very
nice graphics by OGAMI and OXIDY. The design is quite stylish,
and both logos and pics are of very high standard.
Rating : 90%

DRAX, about the music:
Most of the musics in this demo are average except for the
intro-tune, which is made by AVALON it's a little short, but
AVALON proves that he able to do funky music very well.
Especially the bassline shows, that he can do quite proper
music indeed. Other tunes worth mentioning is the "turn-disc-
tune". It's made by RED DEVIL, and by listening to the chords-
how they are put, you can hear that he has got potential.
Unfortunately the other tunes pull down the general impres-
sion a bit. Therefore I give it 69%.

STEVE, about the coding:
Well.. Hmm.. Erhh.. Ahr.. Hrkr.. Mpfhr.. (-These are small
sounds to tell the readers, you, that I'm not sure what to
think of this demo).
I could say that it has nice design, effects that, eventhough
you have seen them before, look great, and that it is great
to see a new demo from good-old PADUA.
I could also say that I HATE lame quality (hip-hop) samples and
that I HAAATE simple line-vector objects that rotate around
XYZ ('Worth waiting for'?!?! I think NOT!) for no purpose
(especially when there aren't any filled surfaces or hidden
lines!). I could also feel tempted to ask myself WHAT in the
world makes someone do a thispartlastshalfanhourandyoucant-
pressspace black-or-white part (with childmolester-music),
where the only thing happening is a couple of lines inverting
the 2-coloured image displayed on screen. And why a 4-frame
animation of Z-rotating squares is stored on disk as a
precalculation?!?
Either I missed something vital, or this demo would have a
brighter future watching sheep in North Wisconsin (Ehr?).
And it kills me, cause I respect ANONYM as a coder and as a
friend. But it's my job. And we journalists sometimes have to
sacrifice friends and family to get to the bottom of a story.

- Which there isn't a whole lot of. You'll find a PADUA bitmap-

OK though. Rating : 55%.

DRAX, about the music:
The only thing worth mentioning in this demo is the conversion
of MICHAEL JACKSON's "BLACK OR WHITE". It's almost con-
verted perfectly by THE SYNDROM (MATTHIAS HARTUNG).
keep on voting for him - he deserves it. But overall the other
tunes make me give TRIAL OF STRENGHT a 71% for the music.

DELAME by LETHARGY (REVIEW)

STEVE, about the coding:
We worked half an hour on getting this demo to work, when
finally we realized that it was the Action Replay that caused
all the fuzz. That's why we got even more frustrated when
the demo started up, but after the intro, more bugs turned up.
After reading the scroll we discovered that the bugs were
supposed to be there. Interesting. Anyway, what you can't
see for bugs (?! Well.. Atleast you can hardly see the bugs) is
a zooming chessboard. Hoorayhooray and cheerios.
Next on the line is a part with one dotimage transforming into
another dotimage. And then this dotimage transforms into a
new dotimage, only to be transf.. Yeah, it's as boring as it
sounds.
Last part is another C64 version of the famous anal-dot-
rides. (Some circles of dots, creating an effect that looks
like flying through a tube). I have a tip here. Pretend you
borrowed your dad's jet, and that you're on your way up some
lamer's ass (Don't forget to roll, but be carefull with stal-
ling). Demos are always much better when adding a bit to them
mentally. A 50% rating for the coding.
NEPTUNE and VIC, about the graphics:
Most graphics in this demo are pretty mediocre, only one pic
helps this demo to a graphic rating above mid. EGON has done
a very nice conversion of BORIS VALLEJOS "Happyfishwith-
legswalkingarounddestroyngvioletcyclopsonplanettertianglow"
which pulls up this demo to a rating at 69%.

DRAX, about the music:
The intro music is okay, but next time don't use so much filter
on your lead. I would like to give you some advice. Don't ever
use a blues-scale, like you're doing in the tune in second
part, it sounds very amateurishly. The turn disk tune is the
best one in this demo. The bassline sounds much like the old
tune called "Pump up the jam". BTW: All music by DOS - 53%.

STEVE, about the coding:
Finally something new! 1-file demos might not be very original,
but it sort of brings new life to them to name them dentros.
There's not much I can say, as nearly everything in this
dentro is graphical animations. But to mention some effects,
there's small dot-globes, a rotating cross, some guy kicking
whatever and much more. I give it 55% for the coding.
The reason why I like it is that it's a dentro. The word comes
from Amiga (And has already been converted to the PC) and
means demo/intro. A combination resulting in a short demo,
limited by one file in a specific size (On PC, your file must
only take up 80k (crunched) in order to be called a dentro).
I'm sure dentros could be a source to new life on the C64, so
it's time for us to decide what limits there are to 64 dentros,
and that's easy.
I therefore suggest that a C64 deentro is a 1-file demo taking
up no more than 202 blocks of diskspace.
Hopefully you can all agree on that, and perhaps we'll even
have a C64 dentro-competition at the next major party, just
as they have on Amiga and PC. Here in WORLD OF DEMOS, we
will split up demoreviews and dentroreviews, so the dentros
won't have to be compared to mega-demos.

NEPTUNE and VIC, about the graphics:
In spite of its lack of graphical talent, this dentro still
makes a rather nice impression. Most ideas are Amiga ripoffs
(KEFRENS and MELON DESIGN), but as the design is set very
nice, the overall graph rating is 68%.

DRAX, about the music:
The music is made by SHOOGON, and there isn't that much
positive to say about this music; well the sounds are quite
okay, but good sounds don't necessarily make a good tune
and this is really an example of that. The music sounds much
Amiga inspired somehow, that's maybe why I don't like it that
much. By the way, the demo is great. 39% for the music.

ROTATED SHIT by ATLANTIC (REVIEW)

NEPTUNE and VIC, about the coding:
As this demo contains about 87% of graphics and 2.4% code
(CODE?) it looks like STEVE could take a break.
STEVE, about the coding:
Well, I AM going to say something. (I never let a chance pass
me by.. hehe!). And where did the last 10.6% go off to, VIC and
NEPTUNE?! Is that their rating for camelriding with 2 cups of
hash-tea in each ear?? (No. I don't expect you to understand
that.. Just read on!).
This demo is more of the trend I explained in my burglary-
review. The demo has 2 intros linked in front of it (or was I
just drunk?), and then there is some shit. The shit is rota-
ting. That's why it's called rotated shit. Or mayve it should
have been called rotated shit? Which reminds me, I have ano-
ther story: There I were, the poor young reporter, with only

ances in Cana.. +++klik - And we interupt 'More exciting than

and that we will return same time, same place, same week).
Rating : 30%.

NEPTUNE and VIC, about the graphics:
Nothing new here, just a few logos and some animations from
giga-cad. There are a couple of nice logos, but nothing
outstanding. Rating : 32%.

DRAX, about the music:
The first tune is made by HTD. I wonder why so many people
keep on using this tune - is it really that sweet? The sounds
are aweful.
The second tune is made by PERNET of SACRED. The tune
itself sounds a bit boring, but the instruments are quite okay,
I'm looking forward to hear more from you in the near future.
And the mainpart music is composed by JCH/VIBRANTS, it's
quite okay, nice sounds, but certainly not the best, JENS.
Sorry, but I mean it. You better start composing a bit on PC
very soon, otherwise I'll... Rating : 61%.

 + SCENE-RELATED WARS - BENEFICIAL OR DISTRUCTIVE +
 ____________________________________________
The scene is an inferno of discussions, perhaps better known
as wars. I am looking at the many boards, mostly the ones in
the USA, where the phreakers has taken quite a fancy to this
new sport - the slaying of another scener or group.

Wars have been here since the beginning of the scene, and
whether we want it or not, they are here to stay. The majority
of the sceners takes distance from this phenomenon, wanting
everlasting peace all o er the world.

However, competition promotes discussions and thereby wars.
That is common knowledge to everyone.
The American and European boards are everyday vitness to
a number of wars between different groups and sceners. This
has turned into a sport, and therefore when calling the boards
you need to be good at English, and able to discuss in order
to protect yourself from being humiliated infront of the top
sceners represented there.

Many people are of the idea that the wars that takes place on
the boards are childish, and even distructive to the scene.
I propose that it is the exact opposite. Wars are stimulating
and sometimes quite entertaining and interesting, which can
only be regarded as positive to the scene, also when looking
at the huge crowd always following the crossfire between the
groups or sceners in their conflict.
It is without doubt the wars that has caused the serious
competition when it comes to being 1st with a game. Releasing
a good game or getting a high position in the monthly releases
is a wild-card to the groups, one which is used in most of the
wars taking place today - and in the future. Also that can
only be regarded as positive, afterall, competition is what
keeps the 64 scene from fading away.

Wars are + stimulating, entertaining and interesting.
       - a plague for the pacifists.

I therefore conclude that wars are positive for the scene,
and should therefore be taken serious when discussed. YOU
are ofcourse intitled to your own opinion - send it to us.
I have taken the liberty of putting down the ground rules for
wars. Being experienced at wars against tough opponents
aswell as those of a weak nature, I have developed a list which
in my opinion should be consulted when having difficulties
trying to find a winner in a conflict. It happens in just about
every war, that eventhough the winner appears to be obvious,
the loser denies having lost, eventhough he has breached
every possible unwritten law that concerns wars.

Before presenting the first version of the war-rules, I urge
everyone of you to send in your opinion on what should be
added to the rules or perhaps should be removed accompanied
by a reason of why you want it removed. We will list the rules
every month in SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT - always a step ahead.
       + THE SCENE WAR-RULES - VERSION 1.0 +
        ________________________________
ARTICLE 1 - POINT 1
A war is won when the opponent admits to being less qualified
at ragging and therefore requests for an end to the conflict.

ARTICLE 1 - POINT 2
A war is NOT won when the opponent requests for a truce with-
out admitting to being less qualified at ragging.

ARTICLE 1 - POINT 3
The definition of ragging is how the content of the discussion
is being handled by the persons involved with the conflict. It
should therefore be regarded as being ambiguous.
ARTICLE 2 - POINT 1
A war is won if the opponent begins to contradict himself in
such a way that it is possible to prove by facts.

ARTICLE 2 - POINT 2
A war is won if the opponent lie about certain things, but only
if it is possible to disprove the lies of the opponent by facts
of such a nature that others can agree upon it.

ARTICLE 2 - POINT 3
Omiting information important or in any way relevant to a war
is NOT considered as lieing. However, this only includes the
information that has not been requested by any opponent or
observer of the war.
ARTICLE 3 - POINT 1
A war is won when the opponent fails to respond to any type
of questions placed by you.

ARTICLE 3 - POINT 2
All questions should be marked or numbered unless there is
only one. This is to ensure that the opponent has a chance to
understand the contents of every question.

ARTICLE 3 - POINT 3
When questions are not marked or numbered, they cannot be
considered as worth being answered. Therefore the opponent
has the opportunity of ignoring your questions without being
regarded as failing to respond.
ARTICLE 4 - POINT 1
A war is won when being threatened with physical violance by
the opponent.

ARTICLE 4 - POINT 2
A war is won when the opponent lowers himself to performing
terror on your phone at any hour. This also includes terror
against any of your family members, group members or friends.
However, this requires evidence to work against the one
performing the terror.

ARTICLE 5 - POINT 1
A person cannot be held responsible of breaching any of the
scene war-rules if he has not read them. (Give him a copy).
This concludes the sketch of the SCENE WAR-RULES. I have
only entered a few, to leave room for a bunch of new ones to
come from everyone of YOU. Be sure to send in your ideas of
what should be added to the rules accompanied by a written
comment of WHY it should be added. You can also hand it all
over to CROSSFIRE/MOTIV 8 in E-MAIL, it will then be mailed
to me and added if considered worthy. But if you do not have
a modem, simply mail it to the following address. THANK YOU!

Welcome to another chapter about the internet. This time we
start where we stopped last time. We have to talk about send-
ing way or files from internet to fidonet and the other way.
                                                 ---
We have got questions about how to do it and which organisa-
tion I use. So this time we write about this:

Address-list:
_________
We are working to finish the list and we have to make some
chances in the code to show all the adresses! It because we
have to use some special sign to split up the name and address.
                                                 ---
                                          -Next Page!-
Sending mail from internet to fidonet:
___________________________
The fidonet is splitted up in a different way than internet. So
first a short explanation about it! On the fidonet you have a
fidonet and that's the address! Before that you have the name
of the person who's on the fidonet-point!!! That comes after
the sign. Here's an example:

First you have to turn the address around. If the address is
234.48.65 you have change it to: 65.48.234 and put a letter
infront of each number. Like this:

                   testperson [] p65.f48.n234.z2.fidonet.org
                   _______________________________
You have to change the sign [] to an alfo-zero sign! Now it
will be sent to the fidonet.org addy and that's a fidonet or-
ganisation. It will take up to 7 days! The example doesn't work
so don't waste your time trying the example out!
                                                ---
Sending from Fidonet to Internet:
________________________
Here it comes and you have to write a little bit more. We have
to send to my address: t44 [] aarhues.dk!
                                                ---
Remember that you have to change the [] sign to an alfazero!
                                                ---
Now you have to send the letter and the letter-head to:

                                     UUCP on 1:105/42
                                     _____________
This is the address to the organisation that sends mail from
fidonet to internet!
                                                ---
In the letter-head you have to write this:

to : m2xenix!aarhues.dk!t44
to: t44 [] aarhues.dk
                                                ---
You have to change the [] sign to an alfo-zero sign!
                                                ---
Now you send a letter to my internet-address! Remember it will
take up to 7 days!
That's all for this time and you can look forward to our list!
Next time it will be here! Any questions or your address: Send
your letter to:
                                                ---
                                      t44 [] aarhues.dk
                                      _____________
Remember to change the [] sign to an alfazero sign!
                                                ---
Signing off, on behalf of Special Assignment: MASON/MOTIV8!

That's about it for SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT this anniversary
special. Remember to react on the things we write about, we
need response to write about what YOU want to read. Find our
address in PREFACE or elsewhere.

Meet the press

           + MEET THE PRESS - REACTIONS +
             ___________________________
Welcome to the new reaction chapter in THE PULSE MAGAZINE.
As stated last month, we decided that it was necessary for us
to open such a chapter, simply due to all the letters and
reactions we get every month.

We realise that there is a high demand for readerinteraction
these days, and we have always been open for positive aswell
as negative response and suggestions. But MEET THE PRESS
will mainly concern the letters regarded as important to our
many readers - therefore we urge you to put down your res-
ponse in a form, so that everyone will have a chance to under-
stand what you are concerned or thrilled about.
THE PULSE MAGAZINE has a very wide staff of editors, and
our editorial consists of sceners from various groups in the
scene. Therefore we urge you to mark your letters ATT. to
those you want to get your response from in here.

READERS COMMENT ON WORLD OF DEMOS
_______________________________
During the months WORLD OF DEMOS has been a part of this
magazine we have receaved all kinds of reactions. Most of the
reactions we got were positive, simply because people found
the editors colourful and honest in their criticism. Others
have complained about the aggresive comments to some of the
demos we have had on our programs, which in some cases could
be regarded as understandable.

WORLD OF DEMOS consists of three very fine editors, one of
them new to you however, due to SUN DANCER being replaced
by NEPTUNE of CAMELOT as our new graphics critic. But
still the method of critizicing demos remains unchanged.
We at WORLD OF DEMOS are of the firm opinion, that most of
the magazines offering demo reviews these days, are either
too boring in their comments or simply too scared to tell the
truth about the demos - especially when it concerns demos put
out by major groups. We wanted to serve the puplic with our
honest opinion, in other words, we call them like we see them.

Sometimes we can get too aggresive in our reviews, but bair
in mind that the truth sometimes hurts, and if a demo is a
complete disgrace to either the scene or the group that
released it, we are definately not too weak from letting them
know about it. That is our ambition, to make sure that the
demo-scene becomes sharper, and stop releasing crap when it
can be done better.
A COLLEAGUE SPEAKS OUT
____________________
I think your magazine is quite cool. One of the great things
about it, is that it's released regulary. As a (main-) editor
myself, I know that it can be hard to release a mag monthly
(MAGNESS is released monthly since issue # 01!). I enjoy
reading every issue of THE PULSE MAGAZINE.

Those two "speakers" in the mainmenu; are they taken from
the KLF album THE WHITE ROOM? I do not have the album, but
somehow the picture looks like something I saw before. Hey,
this is not an attack, I like it! It looks.. Well.. COOL!

But I am not such a great fan of the so-called "page-swap-
system" as I always call it. I would rather have an upscroller.
But hey, I cannot have everything, right? At least it is read-
able. (But also a bit slow).

I also like the fact that you pre-NTSC-fixed your magazine.
We are planning to do the same, but we haven't got a NTSC-
fixer. Do you know anyone who would fix our mag, telling how
to do it, so that MAGNESS also will be pre-fixed?

Anyway, I wish you all the luck in the world with producing a
mag like yours. (It gets quite some votes on our sheets..)

Thanks for listening (READING that is!),
XXX XXXXXXXX
Dear XXX XXXXXXXX,

Thanks for your letter and interest in THE PULSE MAGAZINE.
It is always nice to be appreciated by the competition, instead
of giving eacthother the cold shoulder.

About the two SPEAKERS in the mainmenu. They are converted
from THE WHITE ROOM (album by KLF) by SUN DANCER. I agree
with you that it looks quite cool, so you were right about
your hunch.

About the "page-swap-system". We prefer this system due to
the fact that more letters are allowed on the screen at a time,
and we believe you grow less tired of them contra the regular
1 by 1 charsets. About the speed of the page-swapping, I can
tell you that we are currently working with a brand new outfit
with a much quicker page-swap-system, infact it might even
surprise you due to its incredible speed.

About pre-fixing magazines. We never put any time into fixing
THE PULSE MAGAZINE - we did not need to. We were fortunate
enough with our outfit already working on NTSC, so we need
not ask any fixer to do it for us. However, this issue is not
100% for the Americans, due to the new music we included last
month by SHARK. But as far as I have heard, it only flickers
a bit when changing pages, therefore nothing worth spending
time on fixing. But if you want your magazine to get fixed,
simply call up any American fixing group, and introduce you
and your magazine - with luck they might fix it, but do not
get too disappointed if they turn you down, they have a ten-
dency of doing that these days.

Thanks for your letter, and feel free to send the latest
edition of MAGNESS, so that I can have a good look at it.
