EVERLASTING STYLE is a new very prom-
ising Australian company with roots in
the scene. Officially distributing the
American magazine COMMODORE WORLD in
Australia, they will able to market
themselves fairly easily. They have
also managed to obtain the bulkregister
of subscribers of COMMODORE FORMAT, the
last Brittish channel in the 64-market.
The Australian company claim to be
releasing fullpricegames in the not
too far distant.

                   *

To be considered as a tragedy, is the
fact that German CP VERLAG have ann-
ounced to quit all activities in buying
software for the 64 in the future.
WALTER KONRAD, head of CP VERLAG is
currently re-selling old titles in
stock, while no new contracts are being
signed. CP VERLAG have been considered
the last channel of monthly quality
software in Germany, and it will create
a huge hole in the industry.

                   *

The rumours on ESCOM never continue
to spread. AMIGA TECHNOLOGIES GMBH,
the sistercompany responsible for the
production of the Amiga as well as the
Commodore 64 are very questionable in

their approach. Even though a ton of
pressreleases speak nothing of the 64,
but A12OO's, A4OOO's and a coming A5OOO,
head of the organization PETER TSCHY-
ZENKO still investigates in "future
commitments" on several 64-software-
developers.

                   *

COSMOS DESIGNS, popular creators of
HEAVENBOUND, LIONS OF THE UNIVERSE and
FRED'S BACK will finish their last game
on the 64 within a month. The game will
feature their popular Gottifant in a
true platform-bonanza. The game is
signed up for CHERRY SOFTWARE, as well
as the Amiga-version of FRED'S BACK,
appearing spring 1996.

BLUEZ MUSIC, the popular veteran-team
from Norway have created a new software
label of their own. SHAPE/BLUEZ MUSIC
will be producing, marketing and sell-
ing their games, still leaving room for
cooperation with other companies.
(THE LABEL MADE THE SPLENDID MUSIC FOR
THE LATEST EDITION OF THE PULSE.)

                   *

Demogroup CAMELOT are trying to neg-
otiate with company ESCOM concerning
software. Most of the CAMELOT members
have announced to leave demoproduction
behind, letting software-development
be a dominating factor in Denmark.
Since it is still very uncertain about
the future at ESCOM, it is probable that

another company will be signing them up.

                   *

Good news for Swedish news is that the
64-magazine ATTA BITAR (8 BITS) has
gone through a phase of changes. The
magazine will now be picking up where
it left off, increasing issues per
year and work over a wide section of
areas within the Commodore 64 world.
Subscriptions can be obtained over
ATTA BITAR,

CHERRY SOFTWARE continues to grow
quickly and have been featured in the
popular German magazine 64'er with
their productions. BOUNCY BALLS,
MAGICAL FORMULA, ZONE OF DARKNESS
and FUTURE WORLD, all to appear under
the CHERRY-label soon have been spotted
as previews. BOUNCY BALLS from R CODE
& ART will be the first one out to be
advertised in Swedish, German, Polish
and American computerpress.

                   *

ICEBALL/MOTIV8 and friends, producers
of WONKY WORMS among others are con-
sidering going into fullprice develop-
ment. At a planning stage is a game
similar to the favorite pinball game

on the amiga; PINBALL FANTASIES.

                   *

The first issue of COMMODORE ZONE, a
Britthish magazine proved to be a very
promising production filling out a
blank that COMMODORE FORMAT has left
behind. Interview with APEX, the creat-
ors of MAYHEM IN MONSTERLAND and loads
of coverage about the current and former
software scene in the UK.

                   *

NEWCOMER the immense roleplaying game
from Hungary finally seems to become
available with the Hungarian company
VALHALLA letting go of the domestic
rights. There are currently plenty

of companies interested in selling the
English version in Europe, Australia
and the USA.

                   *

CMD INC. are finally launching their
awaited turbocard. 1OMHz and 2O MHz
versions availble from December at
very modest prices.

                   *

ELECTRIC BOYS ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE
announced they will no longer be pro-
ducing software for the Commodore 64,
not considering it being a valuable
enough. The company will probably con-
tinue to support with hardware.

Hello Propaganda Staff! \/

This is Truss/Acrise writing. I took a
short look at your magazine. When I
loaded the chapter "Business News", I
could read that you will publish the
Software Companies addy's in the next
issue. At first I thought "Hey, that's
a good idea!", but on the other hand is
that smart?

I am afraid that many orrie suppliers
will use the addresses to buy the hott-
est games around, and since swappers

normally are faster than most software
houses today, I fear that it could end
with the dead of many of the new est-
ablished software companies, since the
games will be cracked so soon that no
one will be intnterested in buying them,
when they see them in the shop or in a
mailorder-catalogue.

If we want the software houses and the
few gameproducing companies that are
left to continue making games, many of
the 64-sceners of today have to support
the companies before it's too late! In-
stead of being so damn interested in
firstreleases, try give the companies
some time to earn some money on the
games they are releasing.
I am a member of a cracker group but I
am sure tha many of us could wait some

time until the games have sold enough
copies.

When I see some cracker intros on the
PC, most crackers write something like
this; "if you like this software, BUY
it! Support the software companies that
create quality software!"

Why they wrote this in every crack of
theirs, is probably because they have
seen what happened with the 64-scene.
Whou would ever have dreamed about in
199O, that the games on the 64 would
cease dramatically both in gameplay
just 2-3 years later...Think about it
pals!

Dear Truss,

We all know that piracy has affected
the markets on all formats. Be it 64,
Amiga or PC. The Amiga was probably the
worst of all, picking up an organized
distribution from the very start, un-
like the 64.

I do not personally think that we harm
the 64 with piracy any longer. We work
on a very small computerformat, where
the channels are very narrow. The ones
that buy games hardly know there still
is a crackingscene (or how to get games

copied), while the crackerscene do not
know there still is a section of cus-
tomers who actually do not take part
in copied software. Furthermore, a lot
of people on the scene can be looked up-
on as pure addicts. These are the guys
in groups who love their 64's and the
atmosphere. They buy the software, to
support and just for the pure joy of
owning an original. They do this, even
though they may have seen 4 or 5 cracked
versions from different groups.

On the PC and Amiga, producers are well
aware that if they can stall the crack-
ers with splendid protections, they will
increase sales just for a few more days.
On the 64, it was never the issue. We
don't have the same dimension of people
using modems, in organized channels.

LEMMINGS, for instance would by no means
have sold more, if the firstrelease
would have been done some time later.

And I consider it a fucking weak moral
writing 'a game worth playing is a game
worth buying' in the intro. We all know
the cracked version on the PC and Amiga
reaches virtually everyone, and even
though the players react and consider
the statement for a while ("Oh, they
are so right, those shitty pirates!",
just to click mousebutton and enter the
game. The people making the statement
probably agree that people should really
buy the games they crack, but they still
just have to show everybody what group
is on top. It is a matter of fame,
power and in many cases money.

Looking at it, I am goddamn amazed
that we are still seeing games on the
64 in 1996. A computer with 14 years
on the planet. Look at what the comp-
uters around you can do today. It's
a miracle we're still here.

                 Yours sincerly,

Dear world,

Some of you know us, some of you don't.
Cherry Software was born with one firm
belief - to produce highquality software
on the Commodore 64. Over the past year
we have expanded immensly and employ
some of the best talents you could find
on this computer. Our fullprice titles
will be advertised and reviewed in
worldwide computerpress, but with a

slowly fading market, we have to find
players through smaller channels as
well.

We know and take it for granted most of
you will get our software on a disk from
a friend. It is inevitable that people
will crack our games. However, fullprice
titles on the 64 are rare, and the pure
joy of holding an original in your hand
is almost enough to make you want to
order software from us. Buying software
from us, will not only benefit yourself,
but the entire scene. If we can estab-
lish the fact that it is economically
interesting for us to produce software
for the Commodore, we will continue
doing so for a long time to come.

Therefore, we present our titles
available now, as seen in computerpress
worldwidde. To surrvive, the keyissue
in our games has been quality. That is
our concept and vision.

We hope to hear from you soon.

                  Yours Sincerly,
