Dear readers,

It is mindboggling when I think of it,
but fact is, we have reached a milestone
with this magazine. 2O issues, this one
being the goldedition. To honour the
occassion you will find some spellbind-
ing surprises in this chapter. Having
the creator of this magazine write a

pre-editorial comes naturally, and I
take of my hat in pride, for serving
as editor since his decline.

We will also celebrate the issue in
class, launching a paperedition of the
Propaganda at the party in Denmark.

Since we last met, we have gone through
some tremendous happenings. Issue 19
seemed to rock the boat slightly, with
ONSLAUGHT officially stomping on our
work in VANDALISM, DOMINATION as well
as on the boards. We have seen DUKE
bring back the original standards of
THE PULSE, the latest being somewhat
of a perfect issue. I must admit I was
reluctant to a successful rise of THE
PULSE sine DUKE declared he would re-
launch the magazine. However, after some

trembling issues, I am positive there is
no other magazine providing the same
qualified information and intelligence
on the field.

My dear assistant and co-editor DEFF
moved to Berlin just recently. Many
feared this to be the fall of both
AVANTGARDE and THE LIST for PROPAGANDA.
To be honest, I had my doubts as well,
knowing that his new job would take a
great deal of time. However, things
have worked out well since, and DEFF
will continue in the one and only chart
that people really bother about; the
one in PROPAGANDA. DEFF will be conn-
ected to the future shortly, with an
Internet-account being set up. This
will trigger the efforts further.

TRANZIIE, journalist at PROPAGANDA,
also working under the HITMEN label
is involved in the production of the
paperedition of this magazine. However,
having turned into a total love-turd,
he spends time with a certain Rebecka
who seduced with cheap wine and sleazy
offers. Do I need to tell you that he
fell like the geek he really is?

So there. Now I will let the spirit of
the finest magazine take control. The
magazine everybody is asking about. The
only awaited and expected magazine on
the American boards. The magazine that
breaks the news and fears not doing so.
The releasecharts being the most care-
fully edited chapter, that people come

to judge the situation from. No other
magazine has the same appeal from the
public spotlight, boardwise. No other
magazine can be so proud of its staff.
For the 2Oth time, let the words speak.

                     Yours sincerly,

                        Newscopy

We have come a long way in our digital
society. Long gone are the days of lack-
ing a structure. As the days have gone
by, we have developed a highly civilized
society.

Being a publisher of one of the most
most appreciated magazines, I do follow
the progress in scenepress with parti-
cular interest. THE ILLEGAL, the first
magazine on the 64, edited in Germany
by JEFF SMART was a splendid production
in many ways. I am very sorry that so
many of you were not around to take part
of it. Not only did it keep steady foc-

us on news and charts, but triggered a
debate. In the late 8O's, the scene
developed a cheaper and more easily
distributed method; the diskmagazine.
SEX N'CRIME was the first effort in the
race, which later branched into the
magazine you're reading right now.

At an early stage, it seemed difficult
writing for the new medium. The news
were one-lined, uninspiring and gave
little room for the reader to speculate
behind the curtains of a group. The
interviews were unintelligent, and not
personalizing the alias in any interest-
ing way. WHAT WOULD YOU BRING TO A DES-
ERTED ISLAND? WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?
were among thousands of jolly questions.
Very interesting if you met the fellows
later saying "HI MAN, I READ THAT YOU

LIKE ROASTBEEF, WOW, THAT'S COOL!".

Looking back, I'm grateful we are at
the verge of 1996. At least considering
the magazines. Many magazines have come
a long way, even though it startles me
how many magazines are in poor control
of the editorial work, and resemble the
first attempts we saw in 1988.

It is also mindboggling to see how some
magazines take the oppurtunity to bene-
fit their own group, at a very cheap
and unprofessional level. Some still
cannot keep their hands away from using
the medium as a channel for sleazy
propaganda, and as a chance to get back
at unwanted rivals.

VANDALISM SILVER was received in my
apartment with great expectations. I
still consider VANDALISM being one of
the most recent hotshots, and through
its line of increasing popularity, I've
grown very fond of it. Still, issue 25
contained some of the worst pieces of
journalism I've ever seen in a long
time of scenepress. VENGEANCE, a tale-
nted editor, has spent almost an entire
chapter (ANYTHING GOES) on me, my mag-
azine and my abilities in writing. It
is obvious that the few lines I spent
covering the the current hazzles in-
side ONSLAUGHT, later to be named as
the ONSOAP (not my idea). I was expect-
ing him to comment and react on the
situation. Still, I stand by my words,
as facts are facts, and they are up
to now undesputed.

However, VENGEANCE had taken my honest
but harsch words very seriously. I may
go as far saying he took them person-
ally. The concept in his chapter is hard
to follow and he clearly loses track
numerous times during the text. Instead
of working up a thick line, of credible
arguments, he continously brings perso-
nal and unprofessional aspects on the
issue. Journalism indeed. To keep up
a pace, JAZZCAT has been invited to the
party in a chapter called DOMINATION.
Editinng the independant magazine DOM-
INATION, it was pretty difficult to
criticize my work on behalf of ON-
SLAUGHT, and instead does the job in
the ONSLAUGHT-based magazine. 2 chapters
with me in the spotlight. 2 chapters on
a personal scale, where I am the target.

Turning of my computer, I do so, very
insulted. Not that I regretted the words
in PROPAGANDA 19, I stand by it. I just
felt vulnerable, kicked to the ground
and shamelessly stomped on. For Pete's
sake, they couldn't even avoid writing
about as when reporting on the fact
that THE MINISTRY had joined HITMEN!

If my words about ONSLAUGHT as a soap-
opera offended, why did they not call
me up and clear the situation up? It
would have been a very easy task -

"Per, You have printed news we do not
feel very satisfied with. LA STYLE did
not call 3 groups asking to join and
complaining about the [O]-organization.
THE MINISTRY did not officially criti-
cize the organization for doing a bad

job and saying the group was lazy. We
did not run into misunderstandings with
the Swedish board HIGHWAY, and DODGER
was very happy in the group, even though
he left for HITMEN."

However, if they did, they would still
be lying to me. Fact is, it did happen.
+-----------------------------------+
* LA STYLE did call the 3 groups.

* THE MINISTRY did criticize their
own organization in public.

* HIGHWAY was taken on in great
confusion.

* DODGER did leave for HITMEN in
unhappiness.
+-----------------------------------+

That my friends, is why I wrote it was
a soapopera. So be it I could have
chosen another word, but the result
would still be the same.

JAZZCAT has speculated in why I've
chosen to harass ONSLAUGHT. Is it be-
cause I am at friendly terms with THE
MINISTRY? No. We shared a great time
in the same group once, but that's as
far as we can take it. Is it because
DEFF has an increasing influence on the
magazine? No. I still produce the news
on my own, in my very own style. Fact
is, I have since my start, taking over
from ANTICHRIST/G*P had a clear ambition
and focus - to write intelligent, ana-
lyzing and long news. News that gives
the readers something back and serves

a purpose. In my eyes, it has been a
very successful concept, with plenty
of magazines following the trend.
(PULSE, DOMINATION, RELAX, VANDALISM)
Say whatever you want, since you cannot
argue with it. I've also made clear that
I base my writing around rumours and
news. With that in mind, I have room
for both reporting and speculating. To
me it was very clear ONSLAUGHT made
their fuzzes a public primetime soap.
It may very well be happening in other
groups (and we know it does!), while
it does not appear in public.

PROPAGANDA is not a small or a new
publication. We know that we reach
massive amounts of people. We also know
that part of the staff has been around
for ages, being of the older generation.

It was 1O years ago I joined my first
group on the C64, 8 years ago I found
myself in THE SILENTS. 7 years ago I was
in EXACT giving supplying SNACKY. Later
on in history, we'd meet again in G*P.
Therefore I have come to realize I can
be slightly conservative in my opinions
- oldfashioned as you might put it.
You easily develop a skepsis towards new
rules, new groups and new people. ON-
SLAUGHT was never the case of this
naive charachteristic of mine. I know
they are a very competitive group. In
9 months they have have been offensive
and skillful in the race of releases.
They also have 2 magazines I consider
to be of top-quality, not to mention
their demosection with names like
MORBID - one of my absolute favorite-
musicians on our format. So when quoting

VENGEANCE as "FOR A GROUP THAT HAS BEEN
AROUND 9 MONTHS AND STILL IS RATHER
YOUNG, WE ARE DOING QUITE WELL", I'd
like to alter the statement slightly.
I'd say ONSLAUGHT has done very well
However, appearing in spotlight, they
must expect being looked on and ana-
lyzed extra carefully by people. Some-
times groups need to be shaken slightly.
Sometimes by the foundations.

Handlig a success, is not always easy.

Yours Sincerly,
