Normally F1-teams don't talk about money
maybe they don't want to talk about it-
because a F1-team is very expensive.
But we from the Spiders-Crew give you
this information. How did we get this
secret information? Well- we walked on
Internet and send some E-mails to some
teams and some of them give a answer
back. Sitdown please and read this
amazing story.

The construction of a Formula 1 car is
( without development costs ) _7d 500.000
US dollars. Lots of money. The cost of
part and spare parts are two times more!
From the monocoque- the safetycocon
where the driver sits- three are needed
for two drivers (that's the minimum).

Williams get the tyres from Goodyear for
free, the same counts for Arrows but
those tyres are from Bridgestone.Tyrrell
gets support from Ford. Ford gives
Tyrrell the Ford Cosworth ED4 V8 motor.
But Tyrrell must pay for this motor- the
amount of money is not known. In 1 season
one car needs 22 motors,the price:150000
US dollars. These are not only new motors
because after every 500 kilometers
(after one race) the motor goes back to
Ford and they overhaul the motor.

Every car needs 4 electronic gear-boxes.
Under the bottom of the car is a plate.
With this plate they can check out what
the weight of the car was. This plate
with Titanium costs _7d 8000 US dollars.
In one season you need about 13 of them
(13x8000=104.000!).

A team needs money- a lot of money. From
who do they get this money? From their
sponsors! The new sponsor of Mclaren, the
sigarette-factory WEST pays _7d360.000.000
for a period of 5 years.
Consequently 50.000.000 US dollars a
season.

Why do company's invest so much money in
Formula 1? Because they get it back.
The 17 Grand Prix's of the FIA World
Championship are broadcast in more
then 100 different countries. The Grand
Prix circus has more then 30 miljard
viewers. Who sponsors a top-team, with
75.000.000 US dollars a year, gets 400
tv contacts back for one invested
dollar.

Sponsors also invest in succesful
drivers. For a sponsor sorbadge size
10x5cm on a race-overall from "Schumi"
is an amount of 4.000.000 US dollars
means nothing.

The budget of a top-team - Benneton,
Ferrari- McLaren- Williams - is _7d
75.000.000 US dollar a year.For a middle
-classteam like Jordan, the budget is
35.000.000 a year and for a team like
Tyrrell, the budget is 25.000.000/year.
A beginners-team budget is 10.000.000!!!

The toppers don't have to pay for their
V10 motors:motors are for free,they will
be treat like a baby. But a beginners
team like Minardi must pay Ford for 15
overhauls V8 motors $500.000.

The other money the teams gets from the
television company's and also from the
Grand-Prix organisers. The results are
important,after the season they get
their travel money back when they have
World Championships points.

If you want to start a F1 team you
must have a lot of sponsors. This cost
a Tyrrell from Jos Verstappen:

seconds later you trig your heartbeat
again- now during 10 seconds. Multiply
this number with 6 (C). Now do this:
A + B + C - 200

            HOW DID YOU DO?
            HOW DID YOU DO?

              < 60 points

You are wise if you just follow the
Formula 1 behind the television...

              60-70 points

Your condition is not good. Training and
a non-colourfull life will make you a
better driver but a place in a F1 car?
I don't think so...

              75-85 points

Everything is possible...

              > 85 points

You have a excellent condition. If you
can drive well and find the
right sponsors? A place in the Formula 1
is possible...
