              TALES OF THE CREST

-- -------------------------------------

Howdy and welcome to the latest issue of your
              favourite magazine THE CREST...
                  THE FEBRUARY EDITION
        - THE WILL OF THE WORLD WIDE SCENE MEDIA -
This magazine tries its best to inform you as good
as possible about the board as well as the Internet
                        scene.
The last issue (The New Year Edition) was a quite
massive success after all these critics in the last
few months. A reason for this edition's success was
not at last the quite huge amount of chapters, which
were written for 90% by our chief-editor
                 HARDSEQUENCER!
Flowers are on the way to you, Sascha... Hehe!

Another big "Thank you!" goes to DANZIG, who worked
on his contribution, an absolutely mega k00l intro,
             until the very last minutes.
Also a bunch of flowers for you... :)

And as last thing I (SHOK'RAY) want to thank all of
you, who supported me with the latest news until the
              end of the deadline.
But no flowers for you this time... Hehe!

Okay, that was all from me so far..... I think that also
HARDSEQUENCER wants to say some words...

Hello all you cyberfreaks! HARDSEQUENCER is now
here to give you something in the Preface to read...

First of all thanx to Marco for his flower, hehe!

Well, I can only agree with SHOK'RAY.. The January
Edition has stopped some more doubters mouths for
sure! That issue featured about 600 blocks of
unpacked texts... And that's quite good for a
magazine that comes out every month, isn't it?!?
                     So, shut up!

Now over to something sad: Our staff lost a quite
            important member: ZYRON/F4CG!
He decided to leave the staff of THE CREST to write
for the NEWSPRESS in the future!
It's sad, but we got to accept his decision... So, I
can only say: Thank you, Johan! It was really nice to
have your support for our magazine! You did a damn
great job! I wish you all luck of the world for your
                       future!

Besides this there didn't happen anything important
concerning THE CREST. But that's no wonder as there
again only went 4 weeks by since we put out issue 7!

And now I'll give over to SHOK'RAY again...

             Yeah, it's SHOK'RAY again...

As HARDSEQUENCER said before, there was a quite
tragic set-back for the whole staff...
A highly respected member of our staff left the
magazine staff to work for another magazine in the
future. A pity, but that's way life is...
Anyway, thanx for what you did for THE CREST in the
past and the whole staff wishes you (ZYRON)
everything positive for your new employer!

So far concerning the more or less "negative"
happenings last month... But we also can give you
                    positive news!

As you all know by now, UZZY is a new member of our
staff. Welcome on board A. J! Hehe...
In the next few months he'll introduce a new NTSC-
chapter concept. Something that never ever has
been there before, as far as I know...
(But of course I can be mistaken.. We all are human!)

Besides this we'll also bring you a new chapter, in
which you can reports about the latest game-label
products and the whole thing gets added by
interviews with game-producers, gametest and some
                    other things...
This idea is absolutely new or at least it wasn't
introduced in any scene-based magazine and so you
can call this a first-invent idea by THE CREST!

In addition to this we can finally announce our
                  magazine headquarter!
Jason (TOXIC), the sysop, has some problems with the
board's mods, but he now got a working one...
But still he is experiencing some problems with it.
Anyway, the board is called INCURABLE ADDICTION!
And it's the official DYTEC and THE CREST Whq...
Until the next issue it'll be up and running 100%
for sure! Be prepared for the most stylish board
                  around these days!

Phew, that was all concerning the news from THE
                        CREST...
So, it's the right time to tell you some credits,
         adverts and other general information...

Thanx to you guys for bringing our magazine to
where it belongs. The masses of the scene!

That should be all for this edition. And as last point
we want to thank all supporters and believers, just
                       as always.
Of course, we can't name everyone, who supported
us, that would probably fill the next few pages ;) ,
so that why we only mention these guys, who
supported us in a massive way. This are:
   AXEMAN/BEYOND FORCE, DEPEH/DUAL CREW SHINING,
   SEBALOZ/LEPSI DE, THE FALCON/PENTAGRAM PROD. ,
 DUKE/FAIRLIGHT, JAZZCAT/ONSLAUGHT, ANONYM/PADUA,
      COMMANDER/ROLE, MARC/ALPHAFLIGHT'70,
      CHAOTIC/SMASH DESIGNS, SCARE/ACTIVE...
             So, that's really all now!
We wish you all the best for the month February and
of course much fun reading this issue of THE CREST!

Hope to meet you next month again!
                      So long...

Again we want to keep you up-to-date with the latest
happenings in the CBM64 scene.
Within the last month there didn't happen very much,
at least concerning the major groups. But there
happened some other things in quite a lot of smaller
teams.
To be sure that also news from your group can get
mentioned here, you got to inform us about them!

            OVERSEA SCENE REPORT
_ _____________________________________ _

I'm taking a slight chance by leaving any real news
out of this one. The NTSC scene is pegeon-holed for
being a rather uneventful scene, and this month was
no difference, with not many relevant pieces of
information crossing my desk.

Which is why, in the interest of greater news
accuracy and more of it in the alotted space, I am
making the actual happenings bi-monthly, and
instead filling out the space every other month with
reviews of new demos and interviews with prominent
NTSC sceners.
This month we've taken two of the new NTSC
releases; Satan Claws II by Carcass and the 4K Demo
Competition; and reviewed them for your reading
pleasure.

As is usual, address any new NTSC news and/or
uuencoded (not mimed) files to Uzzy/RPG at
<arthur.heller(at)anwcbbs.uu.holonet.net>, if you
wish to be included in the news chapter. As much as
I hate to admit it, even on the American boards, NTSC
news isn't too readily spread about, leaving the
email medium the most plausable.

And thank you for reading.

4K DEMO COMPETITION by VARIOUS
reviewed by Pegasus/RPG

Currently the hottest thing going on in 1.02Mhz land
is the second NTSC 4k demo competition, arranged
by Style. This time, instead of just demos, there
are also entries for graphics and music.

A quick breakdown: I must say that the demos this
time around were of a lesser quality than the first
competition. I think a contributing factor would be
the fact that newer coders submitted this time. The
demo "4k Party" by TMR/Cosine easily took first
place because of great design, cool effects, and
great music (by Odie of Cosine).

For graphics, you'll find only hi-res and multicolor
here. But some great artistry was at work,
especially in PK/Style's winning pic of a view from a
New York City window. You'll also find Scooby Doo,
a sample of Anime' and a nice sword done in
multicolor, among other things.

And for music, some real talent was displayed.
mostly in the length of the tunes. Because a typical
C64 is 4k, the musicians had to maximize the space.
Necrophobic/Carcass took first with his long tune,
which shows really interesting instrument
fabrication. Odie/Cosine appears here again, this
time with a digi-tracked tune (standard JCH tune + 1
digi drum track). This tune is as good as the one
in TMR's demo, mentioned above, however the
samples are really nice!

That about wraps up the latest NTSC happening.

Driven homepage at http://www.driven.c64.org/

SATAN CLAWSII by CARCASS
reviewed by Brozzmo/ASU

Carcass strikes back again with yet another
satanic-styled Christmas demo. The demo starts off
with a logo which fades in, rather chunkily. It's
nicely done, but the fading could use some work.
A zooming checkerboard routine appears, overlaid
with text. The character set is nearly unreadable,
and what makes it worse is that the checkerboard's
color scheme clashes badly with the text (white
text on a white check). The text, if you can read
it, tells of the previous Satan Claws demo and the
responce it got from prominent NTSC sceners.

After a bit of time, that ends and a target grid
is pointed at the head of Frosty the Snowman. After
the trigger is pulled, we get a full screen picture
of a pretty dark snowy scene displaying the logo
and a shot-up snowman. That sticks around for a
couple seconds or so, then fades out.

Cut to part three. A really nice picture, by
Shadowmaster, comes on the screen. Although it's
done in three colors, the way it is put together
tells of a true master. The best viewing effect is
found by turning the color controls on your monitor
as far up as they will go. Over this pic, which takes
about half the screen, is a really slow dycp-looking
2x2 scroll (I am assuming it's a sprite scroll), in the
same nearly unreadable character set. It tells
the story behind the picture. Once that's done,
the picture vanishes but the scroll keeps going,
telling us the Carcass motto for this page.

Once that scroll finishes, the final page flashes in.
There's a really decent Carcass logo up top, done
by Wide Load, and the damn checkerboard comes
back on the bottom of the screen, obscuring more
text. This text relays the Carcass Secret Santa
thing, and the gifts recieved (poo-hook??). Once
it's done and displays the credits, it plops a simple
"the end" on the screen and ends. If you want, you
can hang around looking at the picture and the
checkerboard routine.

All in all, not a bad release at all. Though the
routines themselves aren't that tough to do, the
demo showed real design potential. It proves that
you don't have to be the best coder in the world to
release a class-A demo. I'll give it my Brozzmo
rating of three out of five stars, a recommended
download. My only complaints are, of course, the
checkerboard colors and the fact that the music
doesn't sound quite as evil as it was probably meant
to.

Only steady factor in this chart are the guys from
CREST. They kept the first place.

OXYRON and SMASH DESIGNS both climbed one place
higher while BYTERAPERS went down from 2 to 4.

Loser of the month are TABOO, who fell down 4 places
from 5 to 9.

Highest new entry is ALBION on position 8! Also
RESOURCE came in and PROFIK and AGONY left.

SCS+TRC finally got the top spot back again by
kicking the HITMEN down to the 3rd place. AFL also
made a profit out of this with gaining place no. 2!

Quite surprising is that MOTIV 8 climbed up from 9 to
7! Seems the most important members leaving
motivated lots of new voter, hehe!

The oz-based ONSLAUGHT posse had a free fall down
to 8, even though they were the last month's 5!

W.O.W. +ROLE entered the Top 10 for the first time.

Once again CROSSBOW managed to keep the top spot.

AEG had a good month with jumping from 4 up to 2,
while MR. SEX and GRAHAM had to go down one.

QUISS once again re-entered the Top 10, even though
he isn't active on the C64 since ages...

CLARENCE and LEONARDO left the charts.... Besides
this it's quite surprising that all in all 6 of 10 guys
kept their last month's position!

No doubt, winner of the month is BURGLAR. He climbed
from 4 up to place number 1 and left JACK ALIEN,
MOONCHILD and IGNORANCE behind, who had to go down
one place everyone of them.

Highest new entry is SKINHEAD on the 6th place. I'm
just wondering why...

Also STING came back into the Top 10, while his
groupmate NAPHALM entered them for the first time
in THE CREST.

This month DEEKAY got his 1st place back from
VALSARY, whom he pushed down to 2!

CRUISE climbed two places up, as well as CREEPER,
who is now on the 7th place.

SEBALOZ re-entered the Top 10. CUPID did the same
after a longer time of absence.

JOE, ELECTRIC and RRR seem to have found their
positions, because they kept last month's places.

Every month the same: MITCH+DANE on place no. 1! But
they really deserve it! And again the have about as
double points as the guy on the second place, who
is P.R.I. this time... He made a massive jump from 8 up
to 2!

Highest new entry is METAL on position 4, which he
shares with his groupmate DRAX.

Also SHOGOON re-entered the charts. Big surprise is
WACEK leaving, although he was last month's no. 3!

the january list

- ------------------------------------- -
            THE JANUARY 1998 LIST!
_ _____________________________________ _

Welcome to the first RELEASECHARTS-chapter in 1998!
The year had a well start with a hig amout of
releases. I really hope that the activity will stay on
this high level.
The bad thing about all these releases was the low
amount of quality.. . Surely the quality decreased
the last years, with all the MAJOR COMPANIES
stopping their support for the 64.
But it seems that for some groups FAKELABELS are
out of fashion, and they don't have any problems to
releases the biggest BULLSHIT through their normal
cracklabels. The best thing is to see guys, who made
jokes about MOTIV8 releasing LOADSTAR-games in the
past, putting out games by the same company
through their normal label these days!
For me as an Editor of such an list, it's a pain in the
ass to see that some groups hit the list with putting
less work in a RELEASE not even worth this name.
And others, who put a lot of work in a (quite) good
game get beat by them.

So I finally decided to modify my RULES!
In the next ISSUE I'll explain my new POINTSYSTEM,
and I'll also use them for the first time.. .

But now let's go on with the HEADLINE NEWS...

- -------------------------------------------------- -
          HEADLINE NEWS JANUARY 1998!
_ _____________________________________ _

THE DUNGEON:

Like SCS*TRC promised last year, a new toll-free
was setup in early JANUARY to satisfy the people
who were unable to reach THE DUNGEON due to the
BLACKLISTS and to make more americans able to be
present on the board.. .
The action wasn't on the hightest level, but THE
DUNGEON is surely still the US-BOARD with the highest
amout of callers!

THE EVIL ISLAND:

Usually said to be an X-MAS PRESENT, the old AFL WHQ
THE EVIL ISLAND got back online in the first days of
JANUARY, after the PHONECOMPANY had solved all
problems!
The FLIGHT showed an fabulous support the first
days, and I'm sure they'll continue on that level!
The action wasn't on the highest level, but a lot of
FLIGHTERS showed up there regulary... .

DEADZONE:

Once the best supported BOARD the action on there
nearly decreased to 0!
Nearly no ONSLAUGHTER showed up there the last
months...!

THE BASS PLANET:

The action on there was a bit better than on
DEADZONE, but the support by the groups running
THE BASS PLANET (CHROMANCE+XENON) was quite bad.
Hope it will change the next WEEKS/MONTHS!

This was all for the HEADLINE NEWS.
Let's go on with the RELEASELIST now.. .

HAPPY READING!!!

ALPHAFLIGHT 1970 (ger, swe, usa..) 6,7 POINTS
-------------------------------------------------------

The FLIGHT started the month with the already PAL/
NTSC-version of TANKS (2,5 pts.). Later they put out
the fixed version of SUPERNOVA (4,2 pts.).

CHROMANCE (hun, swe, usa..) 0,6 POINTS
-------------------------------------------------------

They could add small but fine things to the market!
First the promising PREVIEW of ARTHEMA (0,6 pts.)
made it to the boards. Later TIMMERCIAL (0,0 pts.)
followed. Due to the fact that TIMMERCIAL was only
a (nice) demo of future TIMSOFT-games, I could give
no points for this.
DYNAMIC TECHNOLOGIES (ger) 3,4 POINTS
-------------------------------------------------------

Since the ALPHAFLIGHT-version wasn't completely
fixed, the guys in DYTEC put out a 100%-Version of
STROKEWORLD (3,4 pts.). Due to a TRAINER-BUG I gave
-1 POINT!

EXCESS (ger, hol.) 8,2 POINTS
--------------------------------------------------------

They put out the fixed versions of LABE ME (4,1 pts.)
and DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE (4,1 pts.). Both games are
pure crap and surely not worth any single point!
Since the PREVIEW of LEO 2 (0,0 pts.) was in GERMAN,
they got no POINTS for this neat ADVENTURE-game!
FAIRLIGHT (dk, ger, swe.) 2,7 POINTS
--------------------------------------------------------

First they came up with an unfixed version of IONS
(1,6 pts.), which got later replaced by a fixed one.
Since the FIX was done by the guys in LAXITY they
shared the POINTS for this crappy one.
Later they shocked the public with releasing
SHOOT (1,1 pts.). According to them the game was
fixed using an EMULATOR, but all they did was fuckin'
up the whole game. Not even the TRAINER was working
properly, so I removed one more POINT for this!

FANTASTIC 4 CRACKING GROUP (swe, bel..) 7,7 POINTS
--------------------------------------------------------

They released a couple of games last month, but
most of 'em were pure crap.
They started with LASER STORM (2,1 pts.), BURGERTIME
(2,1 pts.), AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER (2,1 pts) and JAX
(2,1 pts.), all running properly PAL/NTSC!
Later they put out REFLECT (-5 pts.) which got
released by CHROMANCE back in 1993!
The most interesting thing about this is that the
COMPANY (LOADSTAR) or the CODER itself ripped the
fix from the CHROMANCE-version to sell it as PAL/
NTSC-running version. WEIRD!
After all they put out some more crap, named VIDEO
POKER (2,1 pts.) and STARBASE 419 (2,1 pts.). Both were
again running well PAL/NTSC!

HITMEN (ger, swe, usa..) 0,0 POINTS
--------------------------------------------------------

They released the 2nd PREVIEW of SCORPION (0,0 pts.).
Due to the fact that the 1st VERSION of this PREVIEW
got released by AFL+HITMEN back then, I gave
0,0 POINTS for this one!

LAXITY (ger, hol, dk..) 10,3 POINTS
--------------------------------------------------------

The guys in LAXITY had an quite active month... .
First they put out 2 crap-games named BOMBS
(2,1 pts.) and SILENT DOWN (2,1 pts.). Both games were
running already PAL/NTSC!
After that they fixed IONS (1,6 pts.) for FAIRLIGHT
and could gain half of the POINTS for this RELEASE!
Some days later they released the quite nice
PREVIEW of IT'S MAGIC (0,7 pts.). The PREVIEW got
fucked up a bit, but I gave no MINUS-POINTS!
Then they shocked the public with putting out
MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (3,8 pts.). Due to the fact that
this one is PAL-only, someone else may steal 'em the
POINTS later this year.. !

So, that was all.. .
A lot of games this time, so let's have an look at the
complete LIST... !

RELEASECHARTS JANUARY 1998
-------------------------------

PLACE GROUP POINTS RELEASES
--------------------------------------------------------
 1 LAXITY 10,3 5
 2 EXCESS 8,2 2
 3 F4CG 7,7 7
 4 ALPHAFLIGHT 1970 6,7 2
 5 DYNAMIC TECHNOLOGIES 3,4 1
 6 FAIRLIGHT 2,7 2
 7 CHROMANCE 0,6 2
 8 HITMEN 0,0 1

A quite long list this time... .
LAXITY surely deserved the 1st position this month,
while some other GROUPS shouldn't receive that much
POINTS in my opinion. If you checked some of the
games released last month, you know what I mean.. :)

               LEGAL PROFILE 1
               ---------------
Welcome dear audience. As always we give you some-
kind of smalltalk with a wellknown personality from
the legal part of the scene. Demos such as STUPIDO
1+2 made him known, through all parts of the scene.
Proudly representing you...

              AXEMAN of BEYOND FORCE
              -------------------------

We wish you a happy reading....

- ------------------------------------------------ -
[?] THE CREST MAGAZINE [!] AXEMAN/BEYOND F.
[?] Hello Timo, nice to meet you in our long gallery
of wellknown personalities. Let us start with
a standart question. So, please describe your
       person in general.

[!] My first name is Timo and I am an automation
engineer. My age is 24. I am currently studying
       further with computer technology.
I'll probably specialize in signals and systems.
I like to do sports a lot. My newest innovation
is hapkido, korean art of self discipline and
self defence. I like to train my mind with
       relaxation. Everybody should. =) I don't have
a girlfriend at the moment, but will have soon.
What else... Scene has been long gone for me.
I was away for about 6 years, but now I moved..
[!] ..to Pori (south of Finland) and there was a
a C64 party taking plae. I had to go there.....
it was not even close like the old days, but
fun anyway. Thanks to Tempest/Damage for
       arranging that event.

[?] A proper description. So, let us have a closer
look into your computer history. How and when
the very first C64 made it into your life?

[!] I got it for christmas present back in 1984.
My life changed that day. =)

[?] ..And how/when did you enter the scene?

[!] I just wanted to know everything about C64.
[!] Then I met FRODO/FINNISH GOLD in a computer-
store. He was quiting the scene at that point
and gave me the address of SPEMU/FIG. That's
how it started. I was hooked to all those weird
       names (GALLSTONE-FCS-FRODO-SPEMU.......) right
from the beginning. I think I called myself
TFW3001 (the finnish wizard) or something
equally stupid. What a wizard I was.? Goosh.
Eventually I called HAZOR of ZODUX. Then
BYTERAPERS killed ZODUX (friendly war) and
BEYOND FORCE was formed around HAZOR.
That's when I joined BF, I was among the first
members along with SOLOMON and TNT.
It was a good choice. :-)

[!] .And which groups have you been in?
[!] I have never thought of leaving BEYOND FORCE.
We have always been like a big fappy fucking
family. I think we will be friends forever.
Knocks on wood =) All the assholes have been
kicked out. And I tell you, we have removed some
truly great coders from our memberlist....

[?] From the beginning on you have been a part of
the legal scene, so what is your opinion about
the other, the illegal part of the CBM64 scene?

[!] This is always a though question... I've thought
about that a lot during my 10 years in the scene.
I think that there will be at least one criminal
mind for ten normal users. You can't help that.
There are one bad driver for ten good drivers...
[!] ...if you know what I mean? I don't have answers
...Maybe the MR.GATES will solve this problem
       for us? =)

[?] Hehe, yeah maybe.. =/ Next question is comming
Which product, that you made something for,
       are you most proud of?

[!] STUBIDO part 2. That is my best effort.
Only thing I would change now are the scroll-
texts, they are far too underestimative.

[?] You are wellknown for your skills in coding,
what made you starting to code?

[!] Well known coder?? Whoaaaaaa.. That's a....
[!] ..compliment! Thank you. It just happened.
I am logical person and programming is veeery
logical (except C++ and scheme..). I have
also done music on Amiga and Pc for my own
pleasure. I will record my own guitar-record
       when I am rich. That's a promise.

[?] You have been in the scene for quite a long
time.. Please tell us, how is your opinion of
today's mostly Pc influenced scene? Or do you
like the good old days more?

[!] The new spirit as far as I have seen it on those
big Assembly parties is to have thousands of
lamers everywhere. That's fine to me. I just
don't go there. I must admit that I like small...
[!] .parties. Or maybe even meetings. The best
computer related occasions that I have been
to are those little 10-20 people meetings that
we and ORIGO members arranged for ourself
twice a year. They are blasting fun.
Year by year we spent fewer and fewer hours
       with computers.
       That's the spirit I like. =/

[?] I guess it's time to give us some of your
       favourites...

[!] DEMO GROUP...............FIG, Z-CIRCLE, SHADOWS
       DEMO.....................DEMONOMANIE/BF
       CODER....................TNT/BF

is ROCKSTAR, so I say him.
       GAME .................Stix,Wizard of War, 1 on 1

       Down, Grimson Tide, T.H.F.Red October.
       MUSIC.......Guitar shredders, Spice Girls,
       Backstreet Boys, c=64 tunes....
[?] Thanks for your detailed favourites list...
Back to the 8-bit phenomenon. Today's mail-
trading scene is near its end. And even the
       american/europeen board scene goes the
same way.. So, do you think that the Internet
is the future for the C64?

[!] Obviously that's bound to happen. Use the
       bandwidth to its limits.....

[?] Are or were there any guys you dislike?

[!] I can recall meeting only a few assholes.
99% of the sceners are okay.
       MAKE CODE NOT WAR!

[?] Yes, I agree!
..And what did you dislike the most in the
       scene?

[!] ARROGANT PEOPLE!

[?] Brainstorming time... What comes into your mind
       when I say..

[?] What makes the C64 so special for you?

[!] Making 100mhz power out of 1mhz chip.

[?] Are there any programmers you respect a lot
       and you maybe also admire?

[!] I admire:
TNT/Beyond Force: He is my favourite. I love
to code with him, he is all
the time a step ahead of
       my thinking.

       SOLOMON/BF: Was a GOD!

FCS/Finnish Gold: Was a GOD too.
[!] and KJER/Horizon

       I respect:
       GREMLIN/Beyond Force

SAM/Beyond Force: He is underestimated talent
He is also a lazy man. =)

       OLIVER STILLER/MDG

KARL 12/S451: His demos were weird!

       OMEGA SUPREME/Panoramic Design

MR.SEX/Bytrapers Inc:Just met him at the ZOO
       1997 party for the first
[!] MR.SEX: ..time. I didn't know he was a great
       coder, when we started boozing.
       Then somebody showed (B)-demos on
the big screen and he was "AXE, did
you know that I made this?" I was
surprised to hear a man so drunken he
could hardly stand to say that he
made great demos. It's not that I
       haven't seen drunken coders before,
but his comment just made me drop my
jaw. Hehe.. He's a true scener. He is
very proud of his work, but not in an
       arrogant way. I like that.

I think I've been priviledged to know so many
great coders. And most of all they have all....
[!] .been very nice persons.

[?] As we're close to the end now...This is now your
opportunity to say hello to some of your best
partners, and maybe a final advise for our
       readers..

[!] Greets to ALL who read this. No matter if you're
a newbee or an oldie. A demo without a scroller
and a Hubbard tune is no demo!

                                  AXEMAN/BEYOND FORCE

SECOND LEGAL PROFILE OF THE MONTH

-- ----------------------------------- --

Again we bring you two interviews from the legal
front of the scene. But we hope that you don't mind
that much, do you?!? Next issue we'll give you again
also an illegal profile! Promised!
Anyway, in this smalltalk you get to know closer a
well known coder from a very popular group...

         >>>       DEPEH of ANTIC       <<<

Enjoy this profile with this nice guy...
(C): Welcome DEPEH!
Well, to have a nice kick off in this profile,
please introduce yourself to our readers a
     little bit!

(D): Name.......: XXXXX XXXXXXXXX
     Birthdate..: I was born 1975, January 25th
Profession: I together with my fiance are
                 running our own company awesume
                 interactive. Check out:
                 http://www.awesume.se
Hobbies..: To play with my 6 months old
                   daughter.

(C): Ooooh, sweet!
Now over to your computer life.. How did you
        start on the CBM64 ?!?

(D): My big brother bought a C64 when I was about
11 or 12 years old. Ofcoz as everybody else we
played all the games and piratecopied like hell.
MR Z TURBO 250 is a classic now.
I have always been a creative person so when I
got 13 I started to program small Basic
programs on all computers I could get my hands
on. Soon I was programming all Basic programs
that I found in the computer magazines. Then
cartridge opened up a whole new world for me
and I started to learn Assembler. At the same
time I purchased The Bible (programmer's
reference guide). And there it all was! All info I
        needed to code was there.
In these days I got very impressed by all the
cool demos/intros by FAIRLIGHT, ONEWAY, SHAPE
and so on. And I really wanted to produce cool
demos myself. I started together with my
brother (SCARFACE), a friend of him (WIZLORD)
and a friend of mine (BOM) our first group
called SQUADRON. I did the most work in this
group as the others were just playing games.
And so I decided to kick SCARFACE and WIZLORD
and form a new group PRIZMA with BOM.
BOM bought a modem so he got to know a few
people on the bbs'es in Sweden. He also got to
know a guy called THE LORD. THE LORD was about
to start a new group called CICEN and asked if
me and BOM wanted to join. We joined CICEN and
got to know the other memberds of CICEN, such
as XOR (still an ANTIC'er), ACTY (renamed to
PROBE and was an ANTIC member for a long time,
until he quit the C64 scene). I released one
demo for CICEN which at the time I was pretty
satisfied with. The other members in CICEN were
not pleased with the way THE LORD was running
the group. So we kicked him out (How can you
kick the leader out??? Well we simply formed a
new group and didn't let him into that group.).
THE MOB was formed. We released EXPLORER
issue 1 and also a small demo (can't remember
the name). We had some discussions whether we
were gonna call us THE MOB or ANTIC as some of
us wanted, because there was already a group
called ANTIC who wanted to grow, and we needed
a new name. I voted for THE MOB I must say, but
the most of our member voted for ANTIC so...
Soon I released ANTIC's first demo ETHIC. And
we also began to release several EXPLORER
        issues. The rest you know.. LUNACY 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
7 and 6. We also released UP THE LIMITS 1, 2 and
BEYOND IMAGINATION 1 and 2. These are the most
known demos from us but we have also released
demos such as DEIN ZYCREX (first FLI-DOOM
effect on the C64), ATMOSPHERE and many
        others, can't remember them all.

(C): Yeah, these demo were really great! I think
        everyone out there loves them...
And what do you think of the illegal part of the
        scene?

(D): Don't care about the illegal part of the scene
and i have no opinion in the matter.

(C): You are very famous for your coding and also
a little bot for pixelling... Why did you chose
to become this and not a cracker or composer?

(D): I did some cracking for ANTIC back in the days
but cracking is not creative in any way, so I
        concentrated in making demos.

(C): What do you think of the new school in the
scene? Do you more like the spirit of the
        former days?

(D): Hmmm.. I think that some of the groups in demo
scene is getting a little too Amiga and PC
effect copying, with these chunky pixels
effect made with reversed spaces. Make cool
effects from the PC, but make them look nice
both on the big screen and the tv screens. I
know we released some lame part with a chunky
pixel animation, but that part was just a test
of my .MOV file converting routine to the 64.

(C): Nice attitude, man!
Btw, which product that you made something
for, are you most proud of?

(D): I think that me, CREEPER and ZYRON are most
proud of LUNACY 6 bcoz this was our first (and
only) trackmo, and also contains new effects
and routines in every part. We sat 3 long hot
days in my room at my parents place and
finished the demo. The temperature inside my
little room with 4 hackers was probably at 30-35
degrees celcius all the time. Too bad that our
demo came only at fourth place in the finish
democompo at Assembly'96 (was it '96 or was it
        '95? I don't remember.).

(C): Yeah.... I loved that one, too! Btw, I guess it was
        1995, wasn't it?!?
So, let's move to the next question...... Which
coders do you respect a lot and maybe also
        admire?

(D): I respect many coders in the scene but I don't
        admire anyone.
        To name a few... BOB/CENSOR, KJER/HZ, ZODIAC/
FHI, SPY/(hmmm vilken grupp e du med i nu per?),
        TRON/FLT, FLAMINGO/LIGHT and a lot of more...

(C): Now you can give us your favourites in...

(D): Demo Group...: HZ
        Demo.........: LAST TRAKTOR 3/HZ
        Coder........: FLAMINGO/LIGHT
        Graphician...: CREEPER/ANTIC
        Composer.....: ZYRON/F4CG and 20CC
Game.........: WASTELAND and LAST NINJA 2,
                       also DEFENDER OF THE CROWN
Disc Magazine: Don't read any, yours maybe.
Book.........: Don't have any time to read
books. It's so hard to start reading.
        Movie: ID 4
Music: PRODIGY FOREVER! (Their first album
EXPERIENCE is the BEST. Listen to it!)

(C): Hmmm... Interesting. To continue with short
answers, here we go with some brainstorming!

(D): Trackmos.: Pain in the ass to create.
Boards...: We had one in the USA.
        Phreaking: XOR
        Parties..: Pushing the deadlines.
Sex......: Kinky (Yes I practice kinky sex with
                   my fiance, it's fun!)
Alcohol....: HALMSTAD CIDER was very good,
tastes like applejuice with CO2 and
                     you get drunk of it.
Internet: Coolest thing since man invented
                  computers.
PC........: It's too bad that this is the ruling
machine when for example the Amiga
has a much better OS and PROCESSOR.

(C): What thing in the C64 scene do you like most
and maybe think that it's the point that makes
        the CBM64 scene something special?

(D): The C64 scene is special bcoz it has had more
sceners/groups that any scene now has and
        any scene will have.

(C): And what did you dislike the most in the scene?

(D): Demoparts with lame records like:
"Group A did 7833 dots and so me did 7890 dots.
        We rule!"
        That is lame!

(C): Are or were there any guys in the scene you
        can't/couldn't get along with?

(D): Well, we had a war with a group called JAM. I
think it originated when we were on their party
and I think that CREEPER stole their GEOS
        diskettes.
And they suspected someone else in ANTIC for
stealing this. XOR reacted with great anger and
as we knew most of the big swedish groups like
LIGHT, FAIRLIGHT, CENSOR, FLASH, TPF and so on
JAM was picked on at every party not by me,
        but other cool dudes.
I think I wrote one angry text somewhere to
talk shit about these guys... It was not really a
war. The shit went away and I think we even
boozed with TJOST of JAM at our last Denmark
trip (Or was it THE PARTY 5).

(C): Do you think the Internet will be a big part of
the future of the CBM64 scene?

(D): I hope so. But what I really hope for is that all
the C64-ers learns to program demos on Java-
Applets. These applet can be shown directly on
ANY computer on ANY webpage. I have already
done some test effects. Check out:
        http://www.awesume.se/swe/java.htm
        ------------------------------------
(The page is in swedish but I think you
        understand anyway.)

(C): It was said that ANTIC died and nearly all
        members joined DUAL CREW SHINING...
So, what can we expect from DCS?
Maybe another sequel to the LUNACY series?

(D): Hahaha.. Cool! Well, it was just a joke that we
spread at the party when we were drunk and
stupid. We don't take computing so seriously
anymore, but ZYRON/F4CG said that he could
release my unreleased demoparts as a last
ANTIC demo. Who knows.. If I get the time maybe.
Right now ALL my time is eaten up by my
COMPANY, my FIANCE and my DAUGHTER.
        But who knows...

(C): I really hope that you'll get the time once!
So, here our interview has nearly reched its
end. Do you want to greet some friends?

(D): FRIENDS, I don't like to greet friends because
of the risk to forget anyone...
        Hmmm here goes a try:
Greetings fly out to: CREEPER, ZYRON, XOR,
        INCUBUS, EXALT, JORDAN, PROBE, SPIROU,
FLAMINGO, WALKER, GOBLIN, BOB, GEGGIN, SLAYGON,
TRON, AARON, SLEDGE, ZARDAX, SPY, MORPHEUS,
        METAL MANIAC, ALFATECH, OZE.
I forgot anyone then it is because I'm human
and I'm kinda stressed right now.

(C): Okay... That's all!
Thanx for being so nice and making the
        interview!

(D): Any time...

             ------------------------------------

So, that are all more or less important parties in the
first half of 1998 we know about. Of course all these
parties feature something for our beloved CBM64.
We hope you have found something to attend.
I guess especially the time around Easter is very
popular with party people...
Btw, until now it's still unclear, whether there will
take place the X98 or not.... Only thing that's clear,
is that there will be a party called TAKEOVER at that
time in Holland, but it won't feature any C64
competitions... :( So, at the moment it seems that
this year, there won't be a X98! A pity!

                WORLD OF ARTS

-- -------------------------------------

This time we give you again a review of the latest
competition graphics...
We took a closer look at all the competing graphics
from the following two parties:

                 > ASTROSYN '97 <

                    > FLAG '98 <

So, let's start it straight with the first reviews...

    > THE COMPO GRAPHICS FROM THE ASTROSYN '97 <
    -- -------------------------------------- --

This party took place just short before THE PARTY 7,
to be exact: from the 13th to the 14th of December
1997 in Koszalin/Poland.
In this party's compo didn't take part so many
graphics as at THE PARTY 7, but anyway it's good to
see that the good old breadcase is still making
people release graphics, musics and other
competition contributions, even though there is only
a small and sometimes even no prize money to win!
Compared with other parties this one seems to have
been something like a meeting in Poland, when I
concern the competition stuff and masses.... =)
A huge thanx has to go to SEBALOZ/LEPSI DE, who
sent me these graphics via snail mail on request!
And now let's have a closer look at the compo-gfx...

SEBALOZ/LEPSI
- --------- -
A Koala picture, which shows something like a human
being's face.. (I guess it should be a human being's
one, eh?!? =) ). A little bit roughly pixelled, because
this way of pixelling is usually used in Interlace-FLI.
But that it's possible to pixel in Koala this way too,
has been already proved by maestro ELECTRIC
(SKYHIGH-logo)...

Mode Usage: 31% Originality: 28% Conversion: 35%

                                              > 31%

Don't know whether it was planned by SEBALOZ that
people see this as something like a "fun-party-pic"
or not. Anyway, good to see something from him, that
wasn't painted in MCI or I-FLI.

BIMBER/ARISE
- ---------- -
A Hires-picture which even covers the lower and the
upper border. Displayed are things like mysterious
creatures, skulls, etc...

Mode Usage: - Originality: 49% Conversion: 45%

                                                > 47%

With a bit more feeling this picture could have
looked much better, but still it's one of the better
Hires pictures, that got released at the party.

WACEK/ARISE/ALBION/LEPSI DE
- -------------------------- -
A 3(!) colour Interlace picture, which shows a Manga
like girl in squat...

Mode Usage: 3% Originality: 31% Conversion: 22%

A pity that the painter used only 3 colours for the
whole picture, so that's why I can and want to give
only 3% in "Mode Usage". I really don't know who
someone can "abuse" such a memory "eating" mode
by painting with only 3 colours... Well, WACEK got the
point: He isn't an artist! And it'll be hard for him to
become one, if he doesn't change his way of
painting. My humble opinion.. =/

                                                   > 19%

KATON/LEPSI DE
- ---------- -
And another single colour Hires-fullscreen picture...
This one mirrors somekind of landscape from the
Middle Ages with knights and stuff...

Mode Usage: - Originality: 56% Conversion: 50%

                                                > 53%

A normal Hires pic, but it's the best so far, anyway!

INFORMER/SCORN
- ------------- -
And the next Hires picture will come for sure.... And
that's the way it is! A 3 screens upscrolling single
Hires picture, which displays a woman's face with
diverse things in the background...

Mode Usage: - Originality: 51% Conversion: 47%

                                              > 49%

You nearly can't figure out what this should be,
because of the fast upscrolling... Anyway, a nice
picture, for everyone who is still hungry for Hires!

MAX/SCORN/X-VECTOR/OXYGEN
- ------------------------- -
A Manga-styled picture painted in a for me unknown
graphic editor.. You can see, as mentioned before a
Manga picture, which shows a girl's face.

Mode Usage: 50% Originality: 54% Conversion: 47%

                                                > 50%

A nice small picture. But it should have deserved
some more colours, just the way it is usual for
Manga-style.

INFORMER/SCORN
- ------------ -
Another picture in single-Hires, the most used
graphic mode in this competition. Displayed is a dumb
lokking man, who is screaming.. Maybe he just looked
into a mirror, hehe! :)

Mode Usage: - Originality: 48% Conversion: 44%

                                                > 46%

Just like in the picture by SEBALOZ here got used
the I-FLI pixelling method. Anyway, one of the better
Hires-pics of this party...

Final conclusion:
- ------------- -
The polish scene fulfills what everyone expects.
Most pictures were painted in the well-known and
often used Hires-mode. The only exceptions are the
pictures by SEBALOZ and MAX. But I'll never give up
my hope to see once a great pixelled and styled
Koala logo/picture, which was made in Poland.. Is it
really that hard to paint in Koala? Or are guys like
RRR/OXYRON, COMPYX/FOCUS and many other simply
out of fashion, because they stick to the good old
Koala format? This from my side...
All in all the ASTROSYN-party wasn't something
special concerning the graphics... Anyway, good that
there are still such supporters for our C=64...

         > THE COMPO PICTURES FROM THE FLAG '98 <
         -- ---------------------------------- --

From the 6th to the 9th of February 1998 there took
place the FLAG'98-party in Budapest/Hungary!
The graphic competition results looked like this:

01. SUMMON ELF by POISON/SINGULAR
02. PSYLOCKE by SEBALOZ/LEPSI DE
03. SPAWN by AMN
    CREATURE by GERYNC/DRT
05. KRISS by KATON/LEPSI DE
06. WORMS by IZZY/SINGULAR
07. EYESIGHT by SPLASH/RESOURCE
08. SONIC by ASSASSIN
    AUTOCAD by BRK/FRACTION
10. KAWAII by ZYGA
11. BUNNY by TGM
    LOST SOUL by BLEZE

So, don't let us hesitate. Let's start straight with
a closer look at each picture itself...

SUMMON ELF by POISON of SINGULAR
- ---------------------------- -
This Interlace-FLI picture shows an elf's head. The
elf seems to be thinking and leans his head upon his
right arm.
The whole piece is quite dark, so that you can only
see the outlines of the shoulders and the hair.
The flickering is okay and all in all it is painted
technically well.

                                                  > 60%

PSYLOCKE by SEBALOZ of LEPSI DE
- ---------------------------------------------- -
Another Interlace-FLI picture. This one displays a
kneeing woman, dressed up in black leather with a
sword in each hand.
The proportions are quite good, except concerning
the left arm, which is too thin! Also her face is damn
ugly! Could have been painted much better, I think!
Plasm like colourfadings with a lightred touch fill
the background.... That's too simple for me! Because
so the proper picture only is half as big!
The colourfadings are well-painted althrough the
picture and the flickering isn't that nerving, too.

                                                 > 71%

SPAWN by AMN
- ---------------- -
On this Interlace-FLI piece you can see the outlines
of the left half of a vampire's (?) head. It's really
hard to figure out!
Technically seen this picture is pure shit! The
colourfadings were done in a bad and too many
bright colours were used, what causes much
flickering!
I can't understand how this ugly picture could get
the 3rd place!

                                                > 5%

CREATURE by GERYNC of DRT
- --------------------- -
And another piece in Interlace-FLI.............. This one
features a strange alien with a huge belly, and ugly
face with a big trunk and feet like a chicken! In the
background is something like a blue temple (or maybe
a stargate?) and a plant.
A pity that the painter has chosen such an ugly
ugly motiv, beause technically seen it is very good.
But the motiv is so ugly, that I really had to laugh
for about 3 minutes, when I first saw it!

                                                 > 38%

KRISS by KATON of LEPSI DE
- ------------------------------------ -
No not an Interlace-FLI picture, hehe! This one was
done in Hires and shows a screaming man's face with
massive black hair.
This fullscreener is well painted, but maybe there is
a little bit too much blank on the screen with the
hair. Except the strange nose the face's
proportions and forms were done very well!
In my opinion this picture should have deserved a
much higher place!

                                              > 68%

WORMS by IZZY/SINGULAR
- -------------------------------- -
On this Interlace-FLI one you can see a human
being's face with worms coming out of its top.
Technically it is just low average, and the motiv is
so bad, that I simply don't know what else to say
about this one. The picture looks a bit incomplete,
just if the painter lost interest in finishin it at the
half.

                                                  > 11%

EYESIGHT by SPLASH of RESOURCE
- -------------------------- -
An eye which is somehow mixed with its environment
is shown on this Interlace-FLI fullscreen picture.
It's hard to describe, what you can see, just an eye,
water from the see, a mountain's shape and some
other things, but quite unclear.
This picture is nice to look at. The fadings were
done well and it isn't flickering very much, even
though there got used many bright colours.

                                                > 63%

SONIC by ASSASSIN
- ------------- -
This Koala piece features a huge SONIC in something
like a screenshot from the game SONIC - THE
HEDGEHOG. Sonic is shaking on of his fingers.
In my opinion this one is too simple, also
technically it is very low. Even though comic style
isn't hard to paint, the graphican could have done
the shapes much better.

                                               > 16%

AUTOCAD by BRK of FRACTION
- -------------------------------------- -
Another Interlace-FLI piece................. This one looks like a
screenshot of a CAD tool. It features a work piece
with linear measures - just a technical sketch.
It's flickering a lot and I really wonder what inspires
someone to paint something like this.... Can you call
this a picture?!? NO!

                                                  > 1%

BUNNY by TGM
- ---------------- -
What a surprise: Another one in I-FLI! It shows a
girl's face with black hair and bunny ears on her
head. I guess it should be Manga-style! But you can
only call it nothing but fake!
The flickering is quite massive and all in all this pic
is as low in technique as in style and motiv!

                                                 > 10%

LOST SOUL by BLEZE
- -------------- -
This one takes half of the screen and gives us an
ugly alien monster. It's just so ugly that it's
undescribable... You gotta see it yourself!
The Interlace-FLI mode wasn't used very well, even
though it's hard to judge, because of no real forms
and fadings and proportions. Only positive thing is
the fact that it doesn't flicker that much...

                                               > 12%

That were all pictures but one. I didn't have the
"chance" to see the picture KAWAII by ZYGA
as this file was destroyed on my disk. But
concerning the place it got I guess I didn't really
miss something, hehe!
So, my ranking would look as follows:

 01. PSYLOCKE by SEBALOZ/LEPSI DE 71%
 02. KRISS by KATON/LEPSI DE 68%
 03. EYESIGHT by SPLASH/RESOURCE 63%
 04. SUMMON ELF by POISON/SINGULAR 60%
 05. CREATURE by GERYNC/DRT 38%
 06. SONIC by ASSASSIN 16%
 07. LOST SOUL by BLEZE 12%
 08. WORMS by IZZY/SINGULAR 11%
 09. BUNNY by TGM 10%
 10. SPAWN by AMN 5%
 11. AUTOCAD by BRK/FRACTION 1%

Overall I can say that this competition had a really
low quality, only exceptions were my first four
places, which were of high average.
But half of the pictures were pure shit!

                 THE FORUM

-- -------------------------------------

Welcome to this chapter once again after a small
break.
This time HARDSEQUENCER's gonna speak his mind
about the voting these days and again about the
special voting-system in THE CREST.
So, here we go...

Well, nowadays filling votesheets for the C64 scene
isn't that easy, I must admit.
It's in fact quite hard to completely fill in your
personal Top 10 in each category.
But that's not a reason to only vote for 2 or even
only 1 guy in each category...
It's not a reason to vote without thinking before
voting.
And in my very own opinion it's really important to
think about who you vote for, because even today
the charts still have a massive effect on the
masses, or to say it clear: on the ones that get
voted!
So I can't understand why just so many people still
keep voting for guys, who left the CBM64 scene
many years ago and won't return for sure.
Then these people mostly get one of the top
positions in the charts, while just young active
talents don't even enter the charts.
The ones who are high in the charts and gone since a
long time, don't even read today's magazines but
also if they would still read them, they wouldn't care
about the charts anyway, because they don't feel
being a part of the scene anymore. For them it's
history.
Yeah, of course these guys deserve a lot of
respect, but it isn't neccessary to express this
respect through votes in normal charts, is it?!? I
mean, they know that they are honoured in the C64
scene and everybody knows that they are legends,
so why should their skills still be proved in the
charts.. That's not neccessary anymore, as far as
I'm concerned.
But for young active talented guys that are still in
the scene the charts can give a very good
motivation.
So, a vote for an active guy brings the scene more
than anything else.
But why should a young talent be motivated to do
more on the C64 when he never ever has a real
chance to enter the charts?!?
When he sees that people like what he does and
honour it with votes, then he'll do more stuff of
that, don't you think so?!?
So, all you people out there: Stop voting for long
gone inactive guys! We know that they were great,
but enough is enough! Start voting for the active
ones!
But the problem itself isn't solved with this...
When voting for active ones you also get faced with
the point of whether voting for guys who really
release a lot, something like 5 demos a year or so,
or for guys, who just only put out one thing a year,
but feature really highest quality for that!
Hmmm... I think that should be decided by everyone
on his own. But I guess you should try to find
somekind of middleway between quality and quantity,
concerning the votes.
But everybody should decide this on his own, as this
is the point that finally influences the charts a lot.
Another problem is the thing with friendship voting.
I don't think that friendship voting is very usefull.
Voting for someone only because you are a good
friend of him doesn't really help anyone.
Putting your friend in the charts just again takes
away the space for votes for someone, who really
deserves these. When voting for friends only, then
this should happen in "BEST FRIEND" or "BEST
SWAPPER" charts, as these mostly focus on this.
Also voting only for people from the own country,
suxx a little bit, I think... This phenomena is quite
popular in Polska these days....... It's nice that someone
votes only for people from his own country, but it
shows also a lot of ignorance and again manipulates
the charts in a not so good way, in my very own
opinion.

So, enough said about voting in general. Now I want
to tell you a little something about the charts in THE
CREST.
Many people asked for swapper and magazine charts.
Well, swapper charts are quite useless in our
opinion. As said above in swapper charts most people
@vote for their friends. And I can't imagine anyone
wanting to know, who likes swapping with whom...
And as most important point we think that it's
nothing special to be a swapper or that it's an art
to swap.. So, why then should these people be
honoured?!? Don't misunderstand us! We don't think
that swappers are stupid guys and are useless for
the scene.. No! Not in any way! But swapping with a
lot of people to get a lot of votes is no art, it is
just simply a matter of money and time, isn't it!?!
Concerning the magazine charts I can only say: What
do you want to vote for in these charts?!? There are
just only a few magazines in the scene left! Just
about 4-5 mags are really alive and more or less
important these days... So it wouldn't make any sense
to have a magazine chart, because no one is
interested in charts, where only the positions
change but not the entries, I guess...
Now over to the voting system in THE CREST...
For all of you, who still haven't got the point: We
currently have a quite different voting system for
the charts. In our charts everyone's Top 10 get
counted the following way...
Place 1 gets 20 points, place 2 gets 15 points, place 3
gets 11 points, place 4 gets 8 points, place 5 gets 6
points, place 6 gets 5 points, place 7 gets 4 points,
place 8 gets 3 points, place 9 gets 2 points and the
10th place gets 1 point.
That system can be compared with the point system
from the Formula One, just only made for Top 10 and
not Top 6.
We think that this system gives you more the
possiblity to give more importance to the order of
placing the votes. So, your personal number one gets
really honoured...
Soon we'll also start spreading a new votesheet with
only Top 5 in each category except concerning the
groups, where we will keep the Top 10 system. As it's
for everybody as for us, I guess, to fill a Top 10, we
decided to cut it down to Top 5. But the charts
results, which you get presented by us, will of
course still stay the used Top 10. On the votesheet
with the Top 5 the points will be counted this way:
1st place gets 20 points, 2nd place gets 10 points,
3rd place gets 6 points, 4th place gets 3 points and
the 5th place gets only point. So, just nearly the
same as in the Top 10...
But of course still both votesheets can be used to
vote in THE CREST!
Okay, that's all for that topic, too! Hope I haven't
confused you too much, hehe!
Take care...

FINAL NOTE:
- ------- -
We don't take any responsibilities for wrong
addresses. But some of them were nearly unreadable!
In the future we won't take them in anymore,
because we have better things to do than trying to
read unreadable addresses...
