About Trap - part 2

Yep, welcome to the second part of the interview
with TRAP of the now dead Bonzai. - I ended the first
chapter by asking him to compare the C64 and the PC
scene of today, and of what he remembers from his
C64 glory. OK - Take it away Jesper!!

+ First, let me tell you about how we did things the
BONZAI-way: PEACE, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING! Stick to
that and you can't go wrong! I give my deepest re-
spect to the C64-scene, since it was, and still is the
best scene around! Talking about arrogant bastards..
he he! Come to think of OMG/Amok!!! .... Anyway, the PC
scene is more business-orientated - Take a look at a
group like Future Crew - they WERE big - now they are
100% commercial, and THAT SUCKS! Problem is : the PC
scene is too fucking SERIOUS. Things are starting to
flatten out out now that more C64-people are going
PC, but if you want to listen to an advice: If you code
for the fun of it, then STAY ON THE C64! See, the PC s
ucks! (from a technical point of view!): imagine this:
Code something on your PC... Be sure it won't work on
your friends PC, because he has different graphics-
card! PC-coding SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!! There will never
be anything like the C64!
If you choose to join the PC, then do yourself and
everyboday else a favour: spread humour and friend-
ship.....
I really wish people would listen more closely to ma-
ny of the wise words we said in Bonzai on the C64 -
Christ! Respect each other and don't put yourself on
a pedistal, everubody's fucking EQUAL! I hate arro-
gant assholes! BE NICE!

+ What are you doing on the PC? I know that you have
written for a magazine, and... well why don't you tell
it yourself.

- I do some application-programming and I work a bit
on demo-coding some times - very seldom actually!!
I started out with some Assembly-coding, but I quick
ly lost interest, because there was too much work,
and almost no results! Anyway, now I am trying to
grasp the concept of coding demos in Watcom C++....
Sounds interesting eh? Apart from that I do some
composing! I actually came 2nd and 4th at TP93 and
TP94 respectively in the multichannel competitions,
and I should say that is quite an achivement for a
beginner :) ... I did a few lines for YAHOO magazine by
Topaz Beerline, but I haven't had much time for that
for the past months or so... shame on me!
The latest idea of mine is ray-tracing... I have spent
a lot of time on 3D studio - an advanced ray-trace
engine for the PC!

+ What do you think the future will look like? In a
way you can say that the time has went something like
this:

People started out with the ZX81, and moved up thru'
Vic 20 (VC20 in Germany!!), C64/128, Amiga 500/2000 &
Amiga1200/4000 and ending more or less at the PC.

Do you think another 'world dominating' computer
standard will see the light of day, and invade all of
us; building another scene?

- Honestly: I think the C64 will die some day - maybe
not in 1996 or in 1997 but some day... possible before
year 2000! The PC will take over, since it is a format
that has the ability to expand as demand keep rising.
in the end there will only be the PC-scene (unfortu-
nately!). I don't think the console-scene will ever
play a major role in the demo-world... too many for-
mats, and no easy/cheap development possibilities...
Finally I must say: I don't HOPE that the C64 will die -
may it live forever!

+ Ok Trap, I use to do a kind of brainstorm with my
'victims'. So all you have to do is to write the word
which comes to you mind when I say:

Commodore 64 : EXTASY!!!

Scene : The C64!

Girls : My fiancee!

Bonzai : The best time of my life!

Sex : see Girls!

Friendship : Bonzai!

Party : The Party!

Trap : Myself :)

3.5" : Deadly slow media!

Coke'n'Bacardi : Malibu'n'Cocio!

Music : My band!

PC : Windows 95 = trouble :)

and finally, Interview : A drag!

- Ok my friend I think it is about time to to wrap this
up (Trap Crap Wrap!!).
I would like to thank you for taking the time to ans-
wer my questions. Hopefully you will return to this
beautyfull scene within long.

At last I will leave the free space to you. Time to
greet all you want, and/or write what is on your mind
Take it away..

- I want to say hello to all the guys (& their groups)
that ment something for me on the C64 (in no order
at all!) :

Dominators (Macro Nit, Dogfriend, Animal, Dux), Amok
(OMG), Genesis (Goblin), Crest (Maduplec), Censor De-
sign, Byterapers (Grendel), Science 451 (TWL), Horizon,
Success, The Ruling Company, Abnormal (ZTH), Razor
Express (Fido), Warriors 1881, German USA-Team, The
Shadows (omega Supreme), Megastyle Inc., Wizax (Nop
and Ecan), Black Mail, Triton, Upfront, DCS, Starion,
X-Factor (hehe!), Light (Goblin and Flamingo), Focus
Design (Hi Marco!), all the old members of Bonzai..

I want to ask everybody who have the faintest re-
spect for all the work we ever put into making Bonzai
what it is (and was) the please tell the fuckers who
decide to use our name to CHANGE THEIR FUCKING NAME
Normally, I'm not the aggresive type, but using our
name is to me an insult, because those fucking leech-
ers do nothing but hurt our good name!!
Please, dear C64-freaks, honour our name and help
us with this last wish... Let Bonzai remain remembered
for what it was!

If there's somebody out there who'd like to get in
touch then please do so - no matter if it's C64 or PC
(Hell! Amigos can FUCK OFF!) :

Yep that was all for this time. Wait and see who I can
present for you in the big 20... I have some ideas, but
unfortunately I can't (and won't) reveal anything now
So all there is to it is to get your hands on the next
issue as well..
