hm... i know you have read it before,
but not my version. and the point with
this chapter is not to say that there
aren't too many mags in the scene.
no, i wanna talk about mags in general.

but first the welldiscussed question.

there are too many mags in the scene!

no, i don't think so! but when there
ain't so many demos released these days,
you can surely get the feeling that
there are too many mags!

and if you don't like the mag, why
bother reading it?

and the fact is that we have mags that
cover up the whole part of the scene.
just look at this list :

NITRO, GAMERS GUIDE, THE PULSE, EUPHORIA

they are all mags but with different
themes. there's just one mag that does
not exist and that is a mag for mag-
editors.

                -- -- --

which mag is your no. 1 mag??

if i asked 10 people then i bet i would
have 10 different answers! the reason
is that we don't have any super-mag in
the scene. since SCRIPT died the real
number one died and my opinion is that
we havn't had a super mag since script.

script was the last supermag! this can
be claimed, because script made the
things that two years ago were just
visions for a lot of people. for example
when the 2 sided issue of script came
everybody said wow! but when NITRO tried
the same thing nobody seemed to like it.
it was just hard to spread. and i think
the nitro staff is doing a great job
trying to fill 2 disc sides every 2-3
month. in fact nitro is the only 2 sided
mag that still is released.

what would you call a real shocking
outfit? a good outfit is something that
is needed for a mag nowdays. i think
irq-loader is a must. proportional chars
is more and more used. two years ago
there was just shock that used that.
quite funny that the rest of the scene
is two years after the real famous mags.

but all in all it's the text that is
the most important thing, don't you
think? and now we have come to a text
that was written in skyhigh#10. which
chapter is really important in a scene
mag? news, addies, charts will never be
unimportant. though, mags without charts
do exist. interview is also one thing
that someone have said to be standard in
a mag, but MUSICCHARTS... is that really
important?? just think about it! i read
the latest INSIDER some days ago. there
were over 30 sides with just musiccharts
taken from nearly every country in
europe but mostly from mtv-text-tv, but
also from some german radio channels.
but is this really needed? it's just the
same tunes anyway! haddaway, dr.alban,
ace of base... the same groups every-
where. i think that it is ok to include
album reviews in a scenemag.(we have!)
r if you have written something about a
special group. also demo/mag-reviews are
unnecessary you can see the demo your-
self. you don't really need someone
else's opinion. then you maybe wonder
why i don't think so about the album
reviews. no, albums cost money but
mags/demos don't. it isn't to hard to
fix that special demo/mag. but to spend
150 sek on a cd is worse. and then, if
it isn't good enough, it is not that fun
that's why i think album reviews is
better than mag/demo reviews. i also
think it's needed some real articles. i
mean not only chapters like addies,
charts and things like that. but that
is often a hard point in a mag, to find
out interesting things to write about.
something that everyone likes.

so to everyone that is complaining about
that all mags is lame. try to edit a mag
    yourself instead of complaining.

if you don't like the mag then why
           bother reading it?
