album reviews iopop
----------------------------------------
hello, last time i didn't review any cd.
BUMBOO did that. but this time i'm back
to give some reviews of the cd's that
came out the last months. actually i
don't know if there is much people which
listen to this kind of music but if you
do and want to swap some tapes. then
contact me!

what is it that we have for you this
time? i say just read on!

             hard to handle

           elegant machinery
----------------------------------------
hard to handle is elegant machinerys
first single out from the new cd
shattered grounds. which is the groups
second album. elegant machinery was
build in 1988 and in 1991 their first
album came. out might ask what kind of
music they play?! i say this is depeche
mode without guitars!

hard to handle (radio edit)

this tune starts with an instrument that
plays the melody. then the whole tune
starts. i think this is what depeche
mode would have done if they didn't
start to use giutars and other nasty
things. the voice is perfect together
with the other electronican sounds.

hard to handle (hollerith mix)

this tune don't start the same way as
the upper one. it starts with a cool
baseline. and the base is bigger on this
one too. which you can hear when you
are playing on a high volume. if you
compere this tune to the other it's much
faster and the base is bigger and fatter
but all in all the same tune.

the voice

this tune is some years older than the
other tune. and it really sounds late
80's. but the tune is not bad. it varies
alot. always cool electric effects.
the best thing is in the later parts of
this tune when there is two who is
singing.

i give this cdm 8 out of 10.

i especially recomends this cdm to the
ones that likes DEPECHE MODE. this cdm
is good to have when you puke on all
crossover and technotrash.

         ii - the final option

               die krupps
----------------------------------------
die krupps have changed abit since their
first album, stahlwerksinfonie, which
came 1981. i guess you all have heard
A TRIBUTE TO METALLICA which came 1992.
that single is in my opinion the worst
thing that krupps have released. but
that is because everything else is so
great. lets take a look at what they
are up too now 13 years after they
released their first album.

crossfire 4.42 min

this tune starts with a clasic guitar!
but it don't disturb me i really fits
there. then a normal krupps tune with
base starts, later on there is some HARD
guitars. and finnaly jurgens voice and
it fits perfect to the other perfect
things in this tune. the clasic guitar
is also appearing later in the tune.

language of reality 4.07 min

some sort of whips in the begining. then
the guitars starts. it sounds too much
metallica. this tune is abit sower then
the others. an average tune.

bloodsuckers 3.52 min

it's hard to describe all noises in this
tune. but the intro is cool. always the
same guitars in with. then jurgen starts
to sing. the chorus is cool with some
dooms-days-sounds!

fatherland 4.08 min

fuck nazis. was what jurgen said before
they played this tune when they where
here in sweden in december 1993. check
out the text in the end of this chapter.
about the tune, everything fits to each
other. by the way this was the first
single on this cd.

to the hilt 4.46 min

starts with some african drums. then the
gutar and rest comes in. it's a slow but
cool feeling over this tune. also the
dooms-day sounds are here. this tune is
about not being understand.

iron man 4.31 min

cool intro. this tune is fast. and it's
nearly the only tune with a not reality
based text. and that's because dörper
wrote the text and not engler. but all
in all a cool tune.

inside out 4.20 min

this tune must have the most strangest
drum-comp. a slow tune with chorus and
other nice things. if you scratched all
electrican sounds then it might could
have been a tune which was on a grunge
band for seattle's cd.

paradise of sin 4.05 min

why cant all tunes be like this one.
this is TECHNOTRASH much techno sounds
and the guitars fits very good to every-
thing. always cool effects. this tune
shall be listend through head-phones.
as the stereo effects is much more hear-
able. cool text.

worst case scenario 4.18 min

this tune is slow but in the same time
fast. the intro is build up on with some
noises and then guitars. loooong text.

shellshocked 3.33 min

some cool noises in the intro then the
drums starts. and after some seconds
the guitars are there. if the tune was
as cool as the intro then it would have
been good but now it isn't but in the
end of this tune it's alot of cool
sounds. which will give this tune ok.
TECHNOTRASH in my brain!

new emptation 3.57 min

a slow intro. i think this is the tune
that i have been listen to less. but it
is not bad. actually no tune on this
cd is bad. the only tune that the voice
is some kind of disted. nice text.

the first single to this album was
FATHERLAND. but that single is not worth
the money as it contains 4 versions of
fatherland which not differs from each-
other. and then a new mix of metal
machine music. the only thing which
is a little bit plus is the version of
metal machine music. it's cool. i got
9 versions of that tune now!

well, all in all i give this album
9 out of 10.

the first time i listened to this album
i was not staistfied. but it needs some
time and it's better and better the more
you listen to it. the best thing is the
little mark on the LEFT backside of the
cd. there it is a sign with a nazi-sign
and a stop sign over it. and with the
text. STOP FASCISM!

if you like technotrash or just like
one of them. i mean if you like techno
or if you like trashmetal. and don't are
one of thoose who thinks that you can't
mix synths and guitars. then this is the
cd for you.

           moosehair underwer

             cat rapes dog
----------------------------------------
moosehair underwear is the second single
from the album with the same name. the
first single was trojan whores. (read
issue#6 for a review.)

well, the single contains 3 trax. and
two of them is remixes of moosehair.
one called moosehair underwear and one
alled moosewear. moosewear is the track
which is most different to the album
track. much new cool effects. the third
track on this cdm is PRIMETIME
APOCALYPSE. that track sounds like a
tune which didn't fit on the last mini-
cd, THE BANZAI BEATS. but it's not bad
because of that.

i give this cdm 6 out of 10.

----------------------------------------

now it's time for the last thing in this
chapter. the text to FATHERLAND.

               fatherland

               die krupps

          i see houses burning
              i'm ashamed
before you close your eyes denyingly
        you better ask yourself

did i do something i could regret
           did i do something
            i should regret

is this the place i used to call-
               fatherland
is this the palce i used to know-
             as fatherland

        the silence is illusion
               stay awake
i hear children crying in fear and pain
       do cowards ask themswlves?
