              "CDTV GAMES"

as you could have read in BRUTAL RECALL
ISSUE #003, CDTV is an amiga, which
  uses cd instead of disks..
the big advantage of this is that cd's
can handle much more memory than disks
(each disk can hold around 550 mega
bytes of data, and can load 2 mega
   byte in just 1 second)
the cdtv can also be used as a normal
CD player, and also has capabilities
  for playing CD VIDEO DISKS.
the only problem with the CDTV is that
you can't save datas on a CD, but
therefor the guys from COMMODORE made
smartcards, which can handle up to 64k
of data, so you can save your position
  in a game etc.
so much for the OLD news..
this article was written to inform you
about the latest games which are
  currently being programmed..
  let's go:
-LUCASFILM is about the release a new
INDIANA JONES adventure for the cdtv,
called :"INIANA JONES AND THE FATES OF
  ATLANTIS"..
this game is much bigger than the 1st
  indy game....
all new LUCASFILMS games for CDTV will
  feature graphics which are hand-drawn
  and then digitised...
also the games will feature CD QUALITY
  soundtracks.
-MIRRORSOFT want to release "DEFENDER OF
THE CROWN", "FALCON", and "XENON II"
  on the cdtv.
  XENON II:MEGABLAST, the great shoot'em
up from THE BITMAP BROTHERS, will have
a cd quality "BOMB THE BASS" sound-
  track.
-PSYGNOSIS have a cdtv game in produc-
  tion called: "PLANETSIDE".
the game will have ray-traced scenes
that PSYGNOSIS normally only used in
  intro sequences.

that was all i had to tell about the
developments of the cdtv, a machine
which has the abilities of becomming
THE computer of the century, but
because of it's very high price, and
  already old technology (better cd
computers are being produced by the
time you read this) it probably won't
  be a great succes..
we'll keep you informed about it!
