ALPHA FLIGHT declared at an early stage
that summer was going to be a slow peri-
od for them. Many of the members were
exhausted and they wanted to enjoy the
season the best they could. Co-leader
STYX was seen on the American boards on
a few occassions, but also the always
travelling CHOITARE broke the silence.
MARC decided to leave for vacation after
finishing the last pieces of work for
RELAX. RELAX was a juicy edition of text
and much awaited after the long delay.
ALPHA FLIGHT are most likely gathering
up dynamite for the new season.

ALPHA FLIGHT RELEASE MAGICAL FORMULA
ALPHA FLIGHT RELEASE MAGICAL FORMULA
________________________________________
MAGICAL FORMULA was originally designed
by NIKAJ EIJK, artist behind LEMMINGS on
the Commodore 64. The game was supposed
to appear under CHERRY SOFTWARE but the
developers and the company decided to
cancel the project as CHERRY SOFTWARE
was taking a pause in production. The
game later appeared under the MAGNA
MEDIA-flag and was a big surprise as
LAXITY firstreleased it to the American
boards. ALPHA FLIGHT showed up with a
1OO%-version just a while later and
also firstreleased it on the net, unlike
LAXITY. MAGICAL FORMULA was the group's
only contribution to the waresflow dur-
ing summer 1997, and a good one too.

  AGGRESSIVE GERMAN CONTINUES
  AGGRESSIVE GERMAN CONTINUES
________________________________________
As covered in both RELAX and PROPAGANDA,
NED has continued his aggressive appro-
ach on the Swedish board ANTIDOTE. NED
suggested that NEWSCOPY's mother had
died and he was buying cards from the
insurance-money rolling in. F4CG stated
that it was a shame NED didn't die in
the carcrash he was involved in, and
even though there was a great sense of
irony in it, F4CG admitted the comment
was a bit over the edge on the American
boards. RELAX decided to use the happ-
ening as a debate in the editorial,
painting out F4CG as bad boys. To the
story is that NEWSCOPY's mother current-
ly is suffering from cancer and with

that in mind, NED'S approach would be
just as much over the edge as F4CG'S.

"NEWSCOPY, PLEASE VANISH FROM THE SCENE.
PLEASE STOP YOUR LAME MAG. NOBODY LIKES
IT ANYWAY.", NED continued to debate.

"NED IS JUST SOME GEEK WHO IS STILL
TRYING TO GAIN RESPECT BY ATTACKING
RESPECTED GROUPS AND PEOPLE", NIGHT-
SHADE/SCS*TRC commented a few hours
later on the same board.

CHROMANCE have definately worked their
way up from being one of the most silent
groups to an effecitve marketing-unit.
Their steady launch of CHROMANCE-UPDATE
files states a solid message - CHROMANCE
want to be heard. Summer was however
fairly silent. MR.WAX took a few weeks
of from his daily cruise on the American
boards and so did ROUGH, the long gone
veteran who always seems to find his way
back to the scene one way or another.
Autumn will be very intense according to
sources, and from what PROPAGANDA has
heard we may even see an English version
of the much acclaimed game NEWCOMER.

SKID ROW COMES BACK TO THE SCENE
SKID ROW COMES BACK TO THE SCENE.
________________________________________
SKID ROW has decided to return to the
scene - once again. SKID ROW has at most
times been friend and partner with SKIN-
HEAD. Past groups they've worked in in-
clude CALADAN, GENESIS*PROJECT and ALPHA
FLIGHT. SKID ROW will now be fixing for
CHROMANCE on an exclusive level.

TWO OTHER FIXERS SAY GOODBYE
TWO OTHER FIXERS SAY GOODBYE.
________________________________________
CHROMANCE may have gained a new fixer
in SKID ROW, but during summer they also
lost two. FUNGUS, Seattlebased addict
joined up with F4CG while MIDFIT entered
LEGEND on their present reuniontour.

MIDFIT was originally MR.JONES from
VISION but changed his handle as he
decided to come back to the scene. It
is yet unclear whether LEGEND will be
releasing anything, but the recruitment
of a fixer gives reason to speculate.

F4CG has been very active during the
entire summerseason. Relations with
ALPHA FLIGHT and HITMEN have been rather
frozen but throughout both July and
August the group saw to it to release
a steady amount of wares. WALKER, NEWS-
COPY and MAJA are freuent callers to
the states while SKINHEAD calls as often
as time lets him. SOLAR is today only
taking part of the C64-operations thro-
ugh the F4CG-mailinglist and focuses
mainly on the PC-division of the group.
RUNDES LEDER, ICE GUYS, PLASM, MR.ANT
and other titles were much discussed
as they appeared across the globe.

     . SCENETOWN - YOUR REAL LIFE .

  POOR CRACK FROM THE FAMILY
  POOR CRACK FROM THE FAMILY.
________________________________________
One of the biggest titles to appear this
year was without doubt ICE GUYS. ONSL-
AUGHT sent the message and released the
preview while F4CG quickly released a
rather poor crack of the splendid game.
TRC*SCS followed up with a great version
from BURGLAR, +6-trained and still PAL,
since none of the groups were able to
fix the game. DMC, new recruitment to
F4CG from the old GENETIX quickly did
a splendid IFFL-version that is current-
ly being fixed.

+------------------------------------+
  "..WE RUSHED THINGS TOO MUCH.
ICE GUYS WAS A MISTAKE THAT NORMALLY
WOULDN'T HAVE SLIPPED THROUGH OUR
FINGERS WITHOUT A SECOND CHECK. OUR

  CHAOS AT F CG CAMP
  CHAOS AT F4CG-CAMP
________________________________________
While the ICE GUYS-conversations were
primetime entertainment on the American
boards, another story swept as a shock
across the scene. FUNGUS, DMC and SNEA-
PER had left F4CG early morning, August
2Oth. The news were cabled across the
IRC and rumours were quicker to appear
than the proper explaination. Word had
it the trio would now be joining CHROM-

ANCE, TRC*SCS or even ALPHA FLIGHT. It
was clear there was a sense of chaos at
F4CG, and in it's true meaning that is
just what it was.

"IT IS NO SECRET DMC AND SKINHEAD NEVER
REALLY HAD MUCH FOR EACH OTHER. THEY'RE
LIKE TWO BROTHERS, ALWAYS NAGGING AND
ALWAYS FIGHTING. WHEN HITMEN LATER
APPEARED WITH SOME GAMES THAT DMC'S HAD
BEEN WORKING HARD ON, AND THAT WERE ORI-
GINALLY NOT SUPPOSED TO BE OUTSIDE THE
F4CG-SPHERE, DMC IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT IT
WAS SKINHEAD GOING BEHIND HIS BACK DUE
TO A FIGHT THEY HAD. OF COURSE THIS WAS
NOT THE STORY, AS DEFF WAS THE GUY LEA-
VING F4CG FOR HITMEN - WITH A BUNCH OF
UNSOLD GAMES. DMC LEFT QUICKLY AND IT
TRIGGERED THE TWO OTHERS TO FOLLOW AT
ONCE.", says F4CG to PROPAGANDA.

DMC, FUNGUS and SNEAPER were convinced
to come back to the family when it be-
came clear what had worked behind the
scenes. The entire matter was solved on
the IRC only 12 hours after the chaos.
DMC and FUNGUS are new to group and come
from different backgrounds. DMC is an
Irish bloke with a past in GENETIX while
FUNGUS just recently left CHROMANCE be-
hind. He is based in Seattle and does
fixing and coding for the group.

INTERPARK IS BACK ON THE NET
INTERPARK IS BACK ON THE NET.
________________________________________
Many people are speaking of what board
F4CG will be announcing in the states.
RELAX suggested THE FINAL GENOCIDE was
the most likely system, but this is not

true. What is true, however, is that
F4CG have finally put their FTP back
up. INTERPARK is now up and running on
BBS.CC.UNIUD.IT and will be worked on
a great deal over the coming weeks.

________________________________________
It has been awfully quiet around HITMEN.
Almost too quiet at times. PEACEMAKER
started making notice somewhere during
the summer and also announced he would
be fixing again. The statement sent a
message that there was something to
expect from HITMEN - again. HITMEN also
declared that they were the first group
ever to have an intro on the much hyped
Playstation-market. A demo will be find-
ing it's way to our screens as they have
decided to participate in the big demo-
compeition in Denmark this christmas.

  AVANTGARDE DUO REUNITES IN HITMEN
  AVANTGARDE-DUO REUNITES IN HITMEN
________________________________________
Big surprise of the summer was the fact
that DEFF decided to leave F4CG and head
for HITMEN. DEFF has been inactive since
the death of AVANTGARDE, mainly due to
the fact that his girlfriend decided to
give birth to her ex.boyfriend's child.
His job in Berlin did not help either
for that matter. HITMEN announced that
both DEFF and JACK ALIEN were active
again, even though PROPAGANDA would say
it's probably mostly JACK ALIEN who's
active. DEFF has been sitting on a stock
of games since he left the scene behind.
These games are now being cracked and
released by JACK ALIEN. Several of the
games are still unsold and under pro-

cess of sales by F4CG who have original
hand on some of the titles.

  MUCH DISCUSSION OVER UNSOLD GAME
  MUCH DISCUSSION OVER UNSOLD GAME.
________________________________________
PLASM has been a particulary interesting
game to follow. F4CG released the pre-
view a while back and the original was
still being stalled for release as the
game was unsold. HITMEN knew that the
preview was a sign of things to come
and decided to release the game, unsold
and without notice on the American bo-
ards. F4CG were clearly annoyed with the
way things were being handled and pro-
tested loudly on the boards. A while
later they decided to strike back with
a 1OO%-version of the game. It was
clear that the HITMEN-versions hi-score

saver was a crash and the music was not
fixed. Normally, this is not enough to
request a 1OO%-version but they decided
to release it anyway, even though they
knew it would be giving them minuspoi-
nts.

"WELL, WE STATED CLEARLY THAT WE DID
NOT DO THE 100%-RELEASE FOR THE POINTS.
WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE 100%-VERSION-
DISCUSSION A MILLION TIMES AND IN GEN-
ERAL DISLIKE THE 100%-HYSTERIA. WE DID
THE RELEASE TO PISS HITMEN OFF. JUST
A LITTLE TICKLE UNDER THEIR FEET. AFT-
ER ALL, WE KNOW THAT THE VERSION PEOP-
LE WILL KEEP IS THE F4CG-VERSION, AND
AS AN AMERICAN SAID, IT IS QUITE OB-
VIOUS AMERICANS WOULD PREFER A NORMAL
SONG PLAYING - NO MATTER WHAT THE FIX-
ING RULES ARE. WE KNEW WE WOULD BE

GETTING MINUSPOINTS FOR THE RELEASE.
SO WHAT?", said F4CG to PROPAGANDA.

  DISCUSSING THE FUTURE
  DISCUSSING THE FUTURE
________________________________________
HITMEN and F4CG are now on speaking-
terms again. CURLIN and NEWSCOPY are
discussing the issue whether HITMEN
should release MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE, a
game set to be released by CHERRY
SOFTWARE by Christmas this year. If
released before sales, it will again
give light to the discussion on 1OO%-
versions as the sales version features
removed bugs, more car-tracks, new
music and additional graphics. It is
clear that new guidelines and rules
should be set - the 1OO%-debate has
rushed the boards like a hurricane

all over the year.

  THE GERMAN OPERATION GROWS
  THE GERMAN OPERATION GROWS
________________________________________
HITMEN are recruiting people. MAGIC MAN
from the older days was taken in with a
job arranging older CRAZY-members into
the group. WEASEL, also ex-member of
CRAZY teamed up only a few days later.
SMASHER, today F4CG was also asked in
because of his earlier membership in
CRAZY. It appears HITMEN is working hard
on becoming an operation as German as
possible - and they are succeeding. If
the unit can remain active we will pro-
bably be seing one of the stronger gro-
ups by the end of this year. This is
particulary interesting as it has been
almost deadly silent around them the

first half of the year.

  SLEDGE WILL LEAVE FAIRLIGHT
  SLEDGE WILL LEAVE FAIRLIGHT
________________________________________
According to TRANZIIE, their European
sysop SLEDGE will move to a new apart-
ment soon. Of course he will take his
ancient board WAREZ AQUARIUM with him,
but he has finally decided to kick
FAIRLIGHT behind him forever. FAIRLIGHT
has not been much of a group the past
years and even though the leadership
was set in the hands of SLEDGE, support
was terribly weak from the rest of the
group. With SLEDGE gone, it is however
almost certain that we have seen the
last of FAIRLIGHT ever on the Commodore
64 - unless a miracle happens. Or if
BACCHUS decides to turn off the PC.

WAREZ AQUARIUM will be HITMEN only in
the future. (sorry that you didn't know
yet, Fairlight :) !)

  MORE THINGS TO COME
  MORE THINGS TO COME.
________________________________________
With the comeback of wares HITMEN did
strong impact on the market and clearly
stated that the end of summer is the
beginning of a new era for them. More
games are to come and CUPID is rumoured
to be working on a graphics-collection
called AVANTGARDE and there is even a
chance the group will be doing a PC-
demo for X98. In the meantime, most of
us will be satisfied with a constant
flow of C64-wares.

There are 4 groups that are more active
than the others today - TRC*SCS, F4CG,
CHROMANCE and ONSLAUGHT. PROPAGANDA has
to take off the hat for a second in mere
impression, because no other group has
so many members calling the boards. The
other 3 simply have to sit down and see
the subs flooded with messages from ON-
SLAUGHT. The situation is pleasant for
ONSLAUGHT even though there are constant
quarrels with ALPHA FLIGHT and smaller
things with the people in TRC*SCS. As
long as releases are coming, ONSLAUGHT
is still on the go.

GREAT HUNGARIAN FULLPRICER CRACKED
GREAT HUNGARIAN FULLPRICER CRACKED
________________________________________
They may have missed the release of the
great ICE GUYS even though they put out
the preview, but THE CASTLE was still
an impressive release in itself. A full-
pricer from 576kbyte, cracked from 6
sides to 2 it was a release that sur-
prised everyone. The game was also one
of the debated ones when it was unclear
on the fix done on the game, and the
fixingrules implemented in various mag-
azines.

SUMMER THE SEASON OF RAGS
SUMMER - THE SEASON OF RAGS
________________________________________
JAZZCAT is quite a controversial figure.

Most of the summer he has taken part in
rags with several people. MIDFIT and
DODGER (editor of THE CREST) have gotten
a good share of the boot, but most of
the effort has been spent on ALPHA FL-
IGHT. As always the 1OO%-discussion has
been in focus, but also a rather silly
episode appeared on the Swedish ANTI-
DOTE when the debate was whether JAZZ-
CAT ever called THE FORUM or not. Even
MAX called in to support the fact that
JAZZCAT had not been long enough in the
scene. The argument was pretty point-
less as JAZZCAT never claimed to have
been in the scene since dawn of age and
did call THE FORUM during the AVANTGARDE
days. Another rag that began to see
light of day was when WESTBAM first made
appearance on the American boards again.
Although JAZZCAT is an old LEGEND-member

it was clear the chemistry between the
two was not quite up to it. It is yet
unclear why WESTBAM was eager to settle
any sort of difference, but it may be
the fact that MANIAC, who also made a
comeback to the scene through the LEG-
END-reunion decided to leave and join
ONSLAUGHT. The matter was however later
solved.

RUSHED EDITION OF VANDALISM OUT
RUSHED EDITION OF VANDALISM OUT
________________________________________
VENGEANCE finally made it back to the
scene, even though we at PROPAGANDA feel
it is not with the same spark as before.
VANDALISM 28 was quite a rushed, short
production leaving much room and wish
for the older issues. ONSLAUGHT claim
the mag was just a temporary setback and

promise that the magazine will be back
in full force by issue 29. Hopefully it
will as VANDALISM has had time to build
up a solid amount of fans and readers
that expect more.

CHANGES IN THE ORGANIZATION
CHANGES IN THE ORGANIZATION
________________________________________
A lot of changes also appear in the
ONSLAUGHT-organization. BIZARRE disa-
ppears from the active organization and
so does RAMIREZ. According to the ON-
SLAUGHT, BIZARRE has no equipment and
RAMIREZ is unable to call out. MR.BRAIN
and RAP are both inactive but will re-
turn.

So they keep doing it! Keep doing what?
Keep having a rather low profile but
continue to release as if nothing. ICE
GUYS full version was a killer while
there were several other fine smaller
titles. Also the group finally launched
the scs-trc.net so all members are
finally on the same domain as is their
ever so popular FTP, DIGITAL DUNGEON.
Apart from that, happenings are quite
rare in the group. ARMAGEDDON are not
in their crosshairs, people remain the
same and the releases keep coming.

BURGLAR revealed that he is working on
a demo. It is an old-school creation
and features music by nobody else than
JEROEN TEL. BURGLAR hopes to have the
demo ready for release by Christmas.
BURGLAR was a member of the demogroup
PARADIZE before he joined up with SUCC-
ESS so demos are not news to him all
through.

NIGHTSHADE A BIT BORED
NIGHTSHADE A BIT BORED
________________________________________
It appears it is not only CBA who is
bored with the scene. Not long after
CBA left the scene behind NIGHTSHADE

explained he doesn't quite have the
same joy over the machine. NIGHSTHADE
is bored but says he will be around for
as long as THE DUNGEON is around.
PROPAGANDA hopes that means forever.
A great idea NIGHTSHADE was thinking
of was overheard during X97. A big wish
of his would be gathering up a lot of
the people in various groups and settle
for a journey to a warm place. A vaca-
tion with sceners. Scenetown may not be
that far away after all.

X98 is currently on a planning level
but there is nothing sure as of yet,
