On  Internet  SCS+TRC  recently  let the
scene  know  that  there definately will
be  no X-99 PARTY this year, as it first
was  planned  to take place somewhere in
autumn.  Resons  for the decision by the
organizers  are  the,  in their opinion,
dying    c64   scene  and  therefor  the
demotivation  on  their side to organize
anything    on  this  system  any  more!

For  the  ones  who  still  don't  know:
There  will  definately  be no WILLOW'99
this    year!  Reason  for  this  is  an
incident  that happenend at WILLOW'98 in
October  of  last year, when H-BLOXX and
his  fellows  decited  to  try out their
spraycans  in  the  area  of  the  party
place,  the  "Gemeindehaus  Wellentrup".
As  a  result  of this desaster the town
of    Wellentrup    refused    to   give
DOD/CIVITAS  the  partyplace  again  for
this year, so...

However  as some kind of replacement two
minor  meetings between some party dudes
from  last  year  took  place,  which of
course  were great fun, too, but I guess
everyone  is  glad  that,  according  to
DOD,  there  is at least a 50% chance of
getting the party place again next year!

The  party  will  be  held  in Pasila in
Finland.  Pasila  is about 5 km from the
center  of Helsinki. The partyplace will
be  the  Hartwall  Arena which is easily
reachable by bus, by train and of course
by taxi and car.

- TICKETS:

The  ticket price is 40 Euros (240 FIM).
If  you  reserve  a  computer  place, an
additional 3.5 Euros(20 FIM) is charged.
A group discount of 10% with purchase of
10  or  more tickets in advance. We will
ship  the  tickets  to  one adress only.
Only  tickets  for the whole weekend are
for  sale.  There  will  be  no  One Day
Tickets nor reductions for Girls, Aliens
or  Rock  Stars (except if you happen to
be Bono from U2!).
Tickets  will also be available from the
door at the partyplace.

- GENERAL INFO:

The  Hartwall  Arena  has  been used for
example  for  Ice  Hockey '95 and Figure
Skating  '98 World Championships and can
house  up  to  13500 spectators. We will
convert the whole ice ring and additonal
space  to  yield over 4000 square meters
of room. The party arena will house 1800
computer places.
The whole party place is over 130 meters
long.  103 meters in width and 32 meters
in  height.  So  there will be plenty of
room  for  everybody!  The  grand  stand
comes  with  soft and comfortable chairs
and   can  house  up  to  5000  persons.

- AUDIO & VIDEO INFO:

The main hall will again feature a (too)
powerful  sound  system.  We  will  have
stereo output and kicking base at 20.000
Watts of pure sound power.
The  Big  Screen  is over 12 meters wide
and  supports  the  640x480  resolution.
We  will  have  a  noise  limit (decibel
limit).    Last    year  the  noise  was
deafening.  The exact decible limit will
be    decited    at   the  party  place.
If  someone  doesn't  follow  the  rules
after  some  notifications,  he  will be

removed from the partyplace!


- FOOD, SECURITY, LUGGAGE, ETC.:

The  Hartwall Arena caters to all needs.
A  Hamburger  Restaurant  will  be  open
24H  and  a proper Restaurant will serve
meals  during  day  time. Naturally coke
and  other necessities will be available
24H  a  day.  The  place  will  have 24H
friendly    Security    personnel,   24H
professional  electrician,  24H  Luggage
Preservation    Service    and  Cleaning
Personnel.   Also  24H  Help  Desk  with
friendly  personnel will be available to

help you out with any problems you might
encounter.
We  have  plenty of toilets and showers.
A    seperate,  dark  sleeping  area  is
provided.  Party  T-Shirts  will be sold
for a low price.

The  party  will  be held in Borl NGE in
the  middle  of  Sweden. Once again, the
Arena  Kupolen  Hall  will be the Party-
Place.  Lots  of  free  parking  places,
McDonald's  in  the  building and 24m to
the roof.

Dreamhack is Sweden's largest demoparty-
an annual event where about 2000 persons
with  computers  stay in a huge hall for
four  days  to  code, compete, download,
play  games,  meet  their  E-Friends and
whatever.
