welcome to the third issue of
\ THE TRIAD GAMERS GUIDE /
triad brings you this guide to recent
games. we want to inform you of all
the different versions brought out
by all the groups on the cracker scene
* joy in port 1 or 2 to scroll pages.
* shift-lock to pause logo scroll.
we review games and add them to the
GAMERS GUIDE as soon as possible. we
will keep them in THE GUIDE for two
or even three issues because we want
to be able to show EVERY version that
has been released.
\ GAMERS GUIDE /
we can not guarantee that we will be
able to test every level of every game
so we would like you to help. let us
know when you find a bug or if we miss
a nice aspect of a crack.
if you want to make sure that your
cracks are always in the GUIDE, send
them directly to TRIAD. we accept
written or telephone reports, but only
if we can get someone neutral to
confirm the figures.
the games are listed in alphabetical
order. the versions are listed in
order of their lenght, shortest first.
\ GAMERS GUIDE /
the shortest crack is not always best
but we have to put the games in some
kind of order. the crackers who take
the time and have the skil to remove
crap from the code are more likely to
get a better crack.
if 2 or 3 versions are almost the same
length they must all be considered the
winner. if one is much shorter than the
others, the case is clear.
generally a high amount of cheats is
appreciated but too many cheats can be
silly. if the only point of a cheat is
to add another '+' we woun't regard it
as an asset to the crack.

you don't have to be smart to guess
that CENSOR DESIGN was the group that
did not like this GUIDE. the reason
was that they regard a fast release
to be the thing to measure a crack by.
well, since we are not the selfish
monsters they accuse us to be, we will
of course also give credit to a first
release. that way you will all be able
to see if we are unfair to CENSOR
because they only care for all those
fast releases.
We will go on the claim given by the
crackers. we assume that false claims
will be revealed and scorned.
\ GAMERS GUIDE /
a first release can always be checked
upon, but for the rest of them we
would have to trust the dates given if
there is one at all. this would make
the first release the winner and the
rest would be worth nothing. you all
realize that this is silly, don't you?
i know first hand of one case when the
fast version turned out to be bugged.
two days later a working version was
released. still the first date was
used when comparing.
this is one reason the GAMERS GUIDE is
not much interested in release dates.

there are some odd reactions to the
TRIAD GAMERS GUIDE. we have words that
the lights are burning around the
clock in the FAIRLIGHT workshops. they
are working hard on some new packers
and other tools to get their cracks
shorter and smarter.
we do hope we have not induced a silly
hunt for intros that are so short that
they are ridiculous. better packers
are always wellcome.
we have just heared a rumour that some
guys plan to recrack their own cracks
to get a smarter version. some people
are willing to do anything to get a
top ranking in THE GUIDE. who ever
came up with that idea must be a WILD
ONE. you can bet your sweet ass that
we will NOT regard such versions.
sometimes there is a real reason to
make a second version of a crack, but
that is something else.
imagin the ultimate lamer thinking
like this: oh! shit! i'm only at place
number 3.. shit! i better crack it
again! ha! ha! soon i'm at place 1 at
every game.

about jewel versions:
i think it's too many so called:
'jewel' versions around. i think that
genesis project were first with them.
their versions are real jewel ones for
ex: chaos of ra from snacky and others
then we have jewels from paramount,
chromance, fairlight and others...
i hope this mag will show you the real
jewel versions on each game.
we'll tell you wich groups that says
they got jewel versions ok.
if you make a jewel version,
you haven't to mention it. it will
shows by it self. ok. 'reactions!'

about first releases:
every group that got money or a inside
contact can make a first release!?
right? but every group can't make a
quality crack or atleast a 100% crack.
that's the thing!... quality!! ..it's
too much 1 releases of the same game.
guys that crack with speed and quality
are great!! that's cracking art!!
everybody can link an intro to a game,
but who can really crack it and get it
real short with cool cheats on?!
i think there's too many lame cracks
around. we must change the scene now!

i can only say charts of todays mags
