It has been rather silent on the scene
since autumn kicked off and what is ob-
vious now more than ever is the lack of
a forum. While the American boards are
losing popularity (unfortunately) the
netboards are becoming a decent subst-
itute. Therefore it is today more silent
around groups than we are used to.

ALPHA FLIGHT have provided their share
of software and maintained active desp-
ite what was feared now that MARC, one
of the leading profiles in the group,
married the love of his life.

With little competition from the other
groups, ALPHA FLIGHT were decent enough
to provide us with 2 rather good games.
Thus ALPHA FLIGHT are number one re-
leasers this month and continue their
German crusade.

PENNY+7FX from COMMODORE FEVER was a
platform not as good as ICE GUYS but
well worth an hour of playing or so.
FLIPTRIS from ARTLAB was a very sexy
creation, but is another one of those
puzzles the market has been overfed
with. The layout in itself (intro in-
cluded) makes it worth a check.

A quitter is always a quitter, listening
to the laws in Scenetown but it is with
a slight tear in our eyes we take fare-
well to one of the members who helped
taking ALPHA FLIGHT back to the top when
they restarted their career some years
ago. CALYPSO has decided to leave both
his group and the scene behind. With him
goes one of the most prominent swappers
through the 9O's as well as a good swap-
per and fixer. PROPAGANDA says thank you
for the time and welcome back when you
got to your senses.

MARC has married as of September 26th
which led room for discussion that may-
be ALPHA FLIGHT would not be prepared
to meet the future at such intense level
has before. With almost 2 months having
passed we now know that is not the is-
sue. ALPHA FLIGHT will continue in the
same phase as before. Leadership will
continue under MARC. PROPAGANDA has been
told that MARC'S wife is 1OO% bugfixed
so there is no need for others to ex-
amine her in detail. (It is a joke RRR,
try to move your lips, maybe you can
smile too! Otherwise we look forward
to 4 chapters about it in Relax!)

CHROMANCE keeps running and while writ-
ing this MR.WAX is in fact one of the
only people frequenting the American
boards on a daily basis. CHROMANCE as
a group furthermore taken a step away
from being able to get points in the
PROPAGANDA NETCHARTS by not mailing
information about their releases to
our staffmember COUNT ZERO. "No mails
equals no points", says COUNT ZERO.
If this is to send a message that
CHROMANCE clearly don't bother about
releasecharts on the net is unknown.

When recruiting fixers, CHROMANCE have
been far from lucky this year. FUNGUS,
the Seattle-based American decided to
join F4CG. CHROMANCE responded by re-
cruiting SKID ROW, a German fixer with
a past in groups like HYSTERIC and ALPHA
FLIGHT. It did however not take very
long until SKID ROW decided to unite
with his old partner SKINHEAD in F4CG.
CHROMANCE is currently getting their
games fixed mostly by their member
JAYDEE. He will not be joining F4CG.

CUBEHEAD, nonstop smoking musician re-
joined his friends in ONSLAUGHT. He is
also active under the OXSID PLANETARY-
label. Their latest collection OXSID
BOOK can be heard and leeched at all
popular outlets.

GANGSTA'S PARADISE is up and running
safely again after the Harddrivecrash
on the Hungarian server. GANGSTA'S PAR-
ADISE is by far the fastest FTP for the
C64 and PROPAGANDA is glad that the sys-
tem is in good hands again.

According to F4CG they have gone through
their first personal crisis. "With a
group meeting daily on the net it was
evident it would happen to us sooner or
later. We laugh, we smile and we argue
just like the family we are. Over the
time there have been several people
that did not quite match. Personal che-
mistry is everything for a group and we
are finally back to what we once were.
Some people were removed while others
chose to leave themselves.", say F4CG
when meeting with PROPAGANDA.

The entire reorganization took place
over only a couple of hours. SKID ROW
was recruited as was an old cracker re-
turning to the scene under the name
CRACKPOINT. SKINHEAD who was earlier
the primary reason for bytes being re-
leased under F4CG has chosen to take a
step out of the spotlight as his job
doesn't quite offer as much spare time
as earlier. THE CRACKPOINT'S first re-
lease was GIRLTRIS, a PAL-only release
which was one of the stronger titles
this autumn.

It also became clear that several people
had to be removed from the family. Old
veteran ANTITRACK was complaining about
the group in public and it was "obvious
he had to go. What kind of inspiration
is he to the rest of us complaing like
that?", say F4CG. ANTITRACK was outraged
by the decision and promised bitter re-
venge. His first attempt was to make
sure all F4CG-members were deleted from
the now famous SECOND TO NONE on the
Internet but WESTBAM refused the re-
quest. He also promised to "destroy all
of F4CG-PC and its counterparts", which
means also DIVINE a successful outgrowth
of F4CG PC. WESTBAM, wellknown member

of DIVINE on the PC, which makes ANTI-
TRACK'S statement rather interesting
ing considering the fact ANTITRACK is
only in LEGEND these days. Apart for
declaring that his old group was nothing
but crap as was PROPAGANDA-magazine, he
did not explain why he remained in F4CG
for almost 4 years.

DMC, an Irish bloke who returned to the
scene finally left on his decision when
it was clear he was not clearly coping
with SKINHEAD in the group. He is howev-
er not on bad terms with the group and
will also be celebrating new year's eve
with many members of the group in Lon-

don this year. DERBYSHIRE RAM left be-
cause of not being clearly happy with
the chemistry between certain members.
He is today working at a somewhat slow-
er pace in the nostalgiagroup REMEMBER
and keeps in contact with some of the
people in his old group. Hopefully he
will also be contributing with a piece
of work for an upcoming issue of PRO-
PAGANDA.

TOTAL CHAOS will be heading the entire
legal division of F4CG. Several projects
have been planned over the year and we
will be seeing the first results short-
ly. STASI'S and SLIVER'S graphic-coll-
ections are finished, intros are being

written and a script for the 15-year
demo is written due to be coded during
1998. ZYRON is also in the process of
releasing his complete works done in
VOICETRACKER-format. It is finished and
bound to hit the shelves soon. DRAZ who
was working with the legal division
earlier has completely left the C64
behind.

F4CG also recruited a new fixer from the
American group DEMONIX. DESPAIR is the
3rd NTSC-fixer in the group and will be
helping FUNGUS and SKID ROW out. He does
currently not have a C64 but will be su-
pplied with a machine in a few month's
time.

HITMEN finished of the summer with one
of the strongest phases ever through
their career and flooed the boards and
FTP's with releases. As summer faded in-
to autumn HITMEN took a step out of the
spotlight and stopped their boost of
energy in the scene. Motivation is not
to be mistaken however - ups and downs
are only natural for a group. Currently
HITMEN is rocketing the charts in most
of the magazines and can most definately
live on their previous success all
throughout this year.

HITMEN is right now working day and
night to finish their 3rd demo due to
be released at THE PARTY 7 in Denmark
if everything works out as planned. In
fact almost the entire German operation
is working with the project. It is ad-
mirable and makes them the only crack-
inggroup that actively takes part in the
legal sphere. Both TRC*SCS and F4CG have
promised to be back on the shelves with
their productions but that still remains
to be seen. In the meantime PROPAGANDA
is looking forward to see a new demo
from a group that is truly expanding
new horizons.

According to TRANZIIE, one of HITMEN'S
spokesmen, MOONCHILD has started stu-
dying again. MOONCHILD has been one of
the favoritecrackers in the charts over
the past year and will probably remain
so even though activities will decrease.
JACK ALIEN is working with REMEMBER on
the side but still has time to work for
HITMEN when needed.

There is not much heard from MOTIV8 in
public these days. Ocassionally they
drop by in their public-relations-pre-
sentation spread over the net, but there
is very little noise being made in gene-
ral. According to CROSSFIRE, MOTIV8 is
not on decline and regardless what is
noticed, MOTIV8 still belongs to one
of the most active groups, PROPAGANDA
adds. Unfortunately they have failed
to mail us on their releases as our
releaserules imply. For being one of
the big pioneers on the Internet, it
is highly remarkable.

While the trend is speaking of nostalgia
and we see tons of people return to the
net and active people organize in groups
honouring the past MOTIV8 jump on and
launch their qualitylabel MOTIV8QUALITY.
The purpose of the group is simple - to
release old software but better cracked
than before. The games released so far
have not been as impressive as the idea
with only UK budget-titles from the
early 9O's seeing light of day. Surely
there must be better classics than that.

DASH, the mysterious Swedish member who
came out of nowhere was really a member
of MOTIV8. Various sources implied that
he was not. He was recently busted by
the Swedish telecom and fled to Germany.
Nasty voices further imply that there
never was a DASH but just the old member
LA STYLE making his way back to the
scene. Whatever the story turns out to
be, the real LA STYLE is coming back to
the scene and might be putting his old
board THE HIDDEN back online. As far as
PROPAGANDA knows, LA STYLE might very
well hold the world record in comebacks
to the scene.

Both NUKE and LARRY have quit their
group and the scene. LARRY took his
board RAVEOLUTION with him while
DRAGON'S TOWER now functions as their
European headquarter along with THE
GRAVEYARD. Their American board IN

flag is down for good.

ONSLAUGHT, like HITMEN have somewhat
slowed down their activities after a
summer very well represented on the
American boards. What is great however
is the comeback of both VANDALISM and
DOMINATION to our screens. While DOM-
INATION is experiencing immense success
in charts over the world VANDALISM has
began to slowly become the great maga-
zine it once was. The latest issue was
far better than the rushed comeback is-
sue and with our fingers crossed at
PROPAGANDA you will most be definately
be voting for VANDALISM next year again.

One of the biggest and most talked about
debates of 1997 has been 1OO%-versions
of games. What started out over a few
releases on the American boards later on
burst out into several fights between
several groups. ONSLAUGHT have been ba-
ttling both ALPHA FLIGHT and TRC*SCS on
the boards and on the Internet, but most
recently the rags have been directed by
LEGEND who are reliving their heydays
of glory but on the net. Whatever the
story behind LEGEND vs. ONSLAUGHT may
be, ONSLAUGHT is being rather unfairly
treated. Many people from smaller groups
are trying to take the chance to yell
at ONSLAUGHT, following LEGEND'S examp-

le. It is obvious that LEGEND is a group
that many people still look up to. How-
ever, none of the ONSLAUGHT spokesmen
are present on any of the Internetboards
on a regular basis which sets the battle
in only one direction. And a boring
direction it is. It is also a bit
of a shame that a group like LEGEND
should waste all their capacity on
whatever hostility and old memories
there may be between the two, while
they could instead focus on a comeback
made from bits and bytes of data. Most
definately we have not seen the last
battle between the two taking place on
SECOND TO NONE and SPANKERS HEAVEN.

It dropped down as a bomb on the scene,
and on the PROPAGANDA magazine in part-
icular - it is not likely that the old-
est cooperation ever in the scene will
arrange an X98. The X-parties have been
natural gatherings for the remains of
the C64-scene every easter and have al-
ways been highly appreciated. Unfort-
unately the organizers were not clearly
satisfied with the amount of C64-sceners
at X97 and announced the bad news of the
coming year some week back. PROPAGANDA
is clearly disappointed! We always en-
joyed a good party and never turned one

down. Therefore we strongly urge you to
protest. Bomb the organization with E-
mail and tell them you will come. Isn't
3O-1OO 64-sceners enough for a party? We
never gave a flying shit about those PC-
retards playing QUAKE at parties anyway.

SPANKERZ HEAVEN is the natural meeting-
point for active sceners on the Inter-
net. Even though SECOND TO NONE may have
been the first, SPANKERZ HEAVEN quickly
gained ground as a rendez-vous for tod-
ay's scene. The system is based on a
program developed by BURGLAR running
under the name BURGBBS. The name suits
their digital headquarter perfectly,
rooted in the many bizarre outbursts
CBA once started with a long time ago
and now classic trademark of the co-
operation. And what a trademark!

ALCHEMIST, sysop of THE DUNGEON finally
showed up in Europe after many years of
planning. It was told that he appreci-
ated Europe a great deal and TRC*SCS
did their best in showing their splend-
id Dutch hospitality. Originally, scen-
ers from several groups were planning to
show up and meet the American but never
did in the end. Maybe better for ALCHE-
MIST. Most probably TRC*SCS were far
more than he could handle!

While the American boards still are
struggling to survive, TRC*SCS are doing
everything at their hands to save their
headquarters. The blacklisting from all
the major American phonecompanies de-
creased action to an all-time low. With
a newly installed tollfree, TRC*SCS are
hoping to turn the trend. The word and
public opinion is still that boards are
what we really want. However, almost
everybody agrees today that the net is
the future. No matter how terrible it
may seem for some of us.

LEGEND is on the prowl. GENE finally
decided to join his old competitors and
several of the old faces have started to
show on the first netboard, 2ND TO NONE.

WESTBAM has announced a company is still
paying good money for 64-software. If
this is true, it may not be long until
we see the first LEGEND-titles being
released - whosever pocket is paying.

ANTIDOTE is finally up and running on
a new number, in a new town. The TRIAD-
