the chapters of history. With that
in mind, we have performed various
research to give you a glanceback
of what 1994 was about. It will
probably bring you a few memorable
moments to enjoy, and while doing
it, keep in mind to make 1995 just
as prosperous. This is your year.

RADWAR - FAREWELL RED SECTOR
____________________________
What many of us had in focus, and had
had for long was the Germany bonanza
happening, the RADWAR RAINBOW PARTY.
RADWAR have for a long period of time
been organizing successful events, and
by far, this was no exception. However,
not being all flash and balls, RADWAR
functioned as the decline of RED SECTOR,
the German force that held 1993 in a
firm grip. It was not unexpected, but
with PSYCHOBILLY, leader and organizer,
in the lead, we witnessed veterans like
TERMO, MISTER PRESIDENT and BENSON take

farewell for a last time. With this,
many doors opened for other German
groups to take over from where RED
SECTOR left off. BENSON did a quick
visit in TALENT, but left off when
becoming a father. COUNT ZERO, at this
point a hardworking fixer and COMMUNIST
head for TALENT, while the veteran HOK
team up with the constantly growing
AVANTGARDE.

AWAITED RELEASE ON PAPER
________________________
THE RADWAR-PARTY, or RADWAR V6.0 as it
is also called had its joys however.
The much awaited issue of the paper-
magazine PIRATES made its way to the
readers, something to feast our eyes
at. Another brilliant issue.

NEW GROUP CAUSES CONFUSION
__________________________
WILD SIDE, a much talked about group
with various members from VISION and
others is rumoured to put fear into
us, but as X-RADICAL, leader and foun-
der fails, so does our expectations.

AUSTRALIAN IN THE HEAT
______________________
JAZZCAT, the Australian comets that
completely pumped the boards with his
existanse leaves the now growing ALPHA
FLIGHT under a slight hazzle and ends
up in LEGEND. Few understand why, with
LEGEND being nothing but a name in the
hysteria of releases.

TALENT GOES POLAND
__________________
TALENT, on their behalf, decide to go
on the prowl and seek new talent, taking
Poland under consideration. MAJA, a
gifted swapper and supplier, takes
TALENT into his arms and puts them back
for a slight bit into the world of
releases again.

PROPAGANDA FACING DELAYS
________________________
GENESIS PROJECT does their share to
boost activity, taking in the Swedish
duo THE MINISTRY and Danish TWIST in.
This triggers the old fame to continue
their cracking activities. PROPAGANDA,

however is yet again delayed, mainly
since BOD/TALENT, now in charge of the
releasing list fails to repair his
overexhausted drive.

LEMMINGS - WAR OF THE WARES
___________________________
Lemmings is probably what we might call
the most awaited game on the 64. However
after many million bytes later, it sees
light of day, causing a fight between
dutch SUCCESS and German ALPHA FLIGHT.
Different stories, different points in
different magazines and a discussion
that never seemed to end. Our advice is
to pick up the version CRISP/TRSI per-
formed instead. Now that is quality!

THE DUTCH CLAIMING MARKET
_________________________
After a fairly intensive start of the
new year, February triggers a somewhat
slow period where we fall back into the
traditional scene activities. In Holland
one thinks differently. Dutch old fames
SUCCESS and THE RULING COMPANY merge up
in what to be considered as the most
dangerous cooperation in many years.
They also announce a system to call,
fairly unknown, being REBELLION, and
putting it up on a 1-8OO number causes
a minor revolution in the boardmarket.

CROSSFIRE FINALLY FINDS A HOME
______________________________
MOTIV8, the Danish based group also
take their share of the cake by going
out strong in the waresworld. CROSSFIRE
finally seems to have found a place for
his heart, where it pounds a rather
successful lovestory.

CRITICAL SITUATION - FAKING RELEASES
____________________________________
GENESIS*PROJECT take in SPLATTERHEAD
and LORD CRUCIFIER, Dutch people with
a reputation to let us understand that
the old force is serious - again. After
As NEWSCOPY returns from his 1-week
vacation in London, several cracks later

we understand both SPLATTERHEAD and
LORD CRUCIFIER are out, to try their
luck in SACRED, an old flame. SACRED
cause a critical situation when re-
leasing faked first-release, with
linked EMPIRE-intros in front of their
own. This puts an end to SACRED, and
another dream.

OLD FORCE BATTLES NEW FORCE
___________________________
AVANTGARDE are at this point in lead
of the situation we find ourselves in,
something that LEGEND, long lost in
the releasestruggles, find hard to
tolerate, and the boards function as
a massive orgy of battles between the
two. The famous 'FUCK YOU LEGEND' intro,
today used by AVANTGARDE and F4CG sees

light of day. LEGEND bites back with
WESTBAM and POWERPLANT practically going
bonanza calling THE FORUM and TERMINAL
OBSESSION, AVANTGARDE'S two legendary
boards that gained immense popularity
at their return.

TRIBUTE, THE CONCEPT SEES LIGHT OF DAY
______________________________________
Also the idea of organizing a 64-only
party comes the surface in Sweden.
GENESIS hides behind the plans, as
the research behind the project starts
taking shape. It is yet unknown what
groups will be involved, but much speks
for CENSOR, who show great interest.

F4CG REINFORCES
_______________
F4CG, the Italian based force have had
a slightly slow period during 1993, but
strike back by taking in Polish people
HAIN and MAJA, valuable and talented.
Also ANTITRACK, by many regarded as the
best cracker in the field leaves LEGEND,
to contribute his efforts to the group.
F4CG is back in the struggle.

INFILTRATING GROUPS
___________________
Something very annoying, but interesting

happend in March as well. The tragedy
starts off with somebody logging on to
THE DUNGEON as JUCKE/GENESIS trying
to completely destroy the board. THE
ALCHEMIST, sysop of the mighty board,
currently under the GENESIS PROJECT
flag prevents this, however. Hours
later, somebody logs on to DOMINIC,
headquarter for MOTIV8, under WALKER'S
account, letting out false statements
about MOTIV8. The fake caller tells
the people in MOTIV 8 'how tired he
is of the lame Danes', practically
declaring all out war. In Sweden,
and statewise, the same fake caller
appears making rather hilarious state-
ments. MOTIV8, FAIRLIGHT and TRIAD get
their share of the boot, believing
GENESIS*PROJECT is on the warpath,

which of course is not the case. To
end the story, the fake callers logs
on to FORPLAY, uploading a file suppo-
sedly written by NEWSCOPY/G*P, con-
taing a rather ridiculous story. The
concept gathers that NEWSCOPY suffers
from AIDS, after a pretty unfortunate
occurence in Budapest earlier that
year. This would put an end to GENESIS
PROJECT, resulting in a new group called
NEMESIS with members from AVANTGARDE,
GENESIS*PROJECT, F4CG and various other
labels. Total confusion strikes the
boards for a whole day, but CROSSFIRE,
leader of MOTIV8 takes on the case,
like a typic detective, seeking for
the one(s) responsible. Up to today,
no one has been found guilty, while

suspects have occured. LEXI/FAIRLIGHT,
DR.ZAPP and various TRIAD-people came
out rather handy. What is clear how-
ever, is that the one(s) responisble
did so in order to give the groups
involved a sticky time. A week later,
the fake caller disappeared, never to
be seen or heard again.

VISION - COULDN'T STAND THE HEAT
________________________________
A group that caused a major hazzle
through its return was VISION, who came
on strong, though constantly looked
upon as nothing but a fakegroup, having
none of the original members in. March
puts an end to that tale, after nasty
criticts from people knowing better.

VISION vanishes into thin air again.

MAMBA AND CORRUPTION
____________________
Magazinewise, both THE PULSE and
PROPAGANDA are battling, while a rumour
of a pleasant comeback starts to
circulate. MAMBA, by many regardes as
the magazines of magazines is said to
comeback. Another rumour speaks of a
merge between the long gone CORRUPTION
and MAMBA, therefore becoming CORRAMBA,
but the rumours have vague value, and
the idea stays on the original level.

GERMAN GROUPS MERGE
___________________
What was left after the decline of
the important profiles in RED SECTOR
was not much, but did end up in the
creation of TRSI on the 64. TRSI ex-
perienced minor luck, but April saw
them merging up in a successful co-
operation with the Germany DYTEC, a
cooperation that meant both groups
experienced boost in the European
charts, though with little success
statewise.

BELIGAN FAME BUSTED
___________________
One of the old people from the past
on the boards, namely being NINJA,
sysop of THE ULTIMATE SIN (G*P,
DOM, ENIGMA) gets an unpleasant
visit by the Belgian police. This
action brings fear into the Belgian
scene, but it seems to stagnate at
that level. The accusation proved
utilising a PBX, the same PBX that
virtually all important Belgian people
had been using at the same time,
3 years earlier! Many fear people like
SOLAR/F4CG and POWERPLANT/LEGEND will
face the same destiny, something that
has not yet happened, up to date.

THE FORUM AT THE TOP
____________________
THE FORUM experiences humungous success,
taking practically the whole market in
its hands, boardwise. Even legends like
FIST, SAURON and GENE, profiles with
a past in ILLUSION were spotted looking
in on the whereabouts.

GROUPJUMPER FINDS HIS HOME?
___________________________
SPLATTERHEAD, going through a slight
personal crisis in groupjumping, and
then a scandal through the faked EMPIRE-
firstrelease finally decides to team
up with CHROMANCE, something boosting
the group in the right direction. For

the first time in ages, it seems
SPLATTERHEAD had found a home.

LIKED MUSICIAN RETURNS
______________________
A-MAN, much acclaimed musician returns
to the market, doing so in AVANTGARDE.
Something that does not result in much,
sadly enough.

WAR OF THE WARES CONTINUES
__________________________
The wars about the wares face new
actions throughout the boards. Disc-
cussions are vivid about the fixes,
1OO % versions and sales versions,
where the struggle still focuses on
games like Lemmings, Dark Caves and

Arc Doors. Groups involved, being
AVANTGARDE, MOTIV8 and TRC*SCS see
to it that boards are, shall we say,
a rather enjoyable ride.

HACKER IN COURT
_______________
May ends with quite few important
happenings, one however draws attention,
to us, and causes fear in many Swedish
profiles. Two years after being busted,
MOTLEY/GENESIS*PROJECT goes to trial,
with charges of over 3OOOO dollars
at his head. A few days of sweat and
negotiations, the lawyers settle and
MOTLEY walks out with 3OO dollars to

pay, and being on probataion. This
triggers a somewhat slower period for
him, since if doing anything, prison
would be the only way to go.

Summer 1994

A
ALPHA FLIGHT BOOST ACTIVITY
___________________________
ALPHA FLIGHT take use of summer as a
boost of activity and recruit talents
throughout the field; THE SECRET MAN,
LEEWAY, CENTAURION, REAM, STARKILLER,
AGRESSOR and more, that now can roam
under the German label. The much talked
about RRR stays in OXYRON, however.
Boardwise, HOLIDAY INN CAMBODIA is
taken on as headquarter, while leaving

THE EVIL ISLAND behind for CHROMANCE.

A BOARD WITH AN OLD NAME
________________________
DREAMPARK is announced by AVANTGARDE,
but later on it is obvious, that it is
seen light of day. ODYSSEUS, sysop for
AVANTGARDE'S first board CHAOTIC FACTOR,
has in fact just changed his original
boardname.

THE TUNNEL GOES DOWN
____________________
Another legendary board says farewell,
with STORMRIDER/F4CG quitting taking
TUNNEL OF WARE with him. Only days
later, ZIRC0/F4CG announces its re-
opening at a new number, which eases

the slight hazzle in F4CG.

SCS*TRC GAINS THE BEST OF BOARDS
________________________________
Due to MOTLEY'S trial in May, the
GENESIS*PROJECT chose to stay of the
market for a short while to avoid
unwanted trouble with law. THE DUNGEON
sees somewhat of a decline, and to
boost activity, THE ALCHEMIST, sysop
and resonsible teams up with the
Dutch Cooperation TRC*SCS, leaving
GENESIS*PROJECT behind. THE DUNGEON
also functions as headquarter for the
magazine VANDALISM.

CLOSING PANDORA'S BOX
_____________________
PANDORA, a group that has not performed
much the past few years announces its
decline from the market with ATTRACTION
and SKY leaving the 64 behind.

AVANTGARDE IN THE CROSSFIRE
___________________________
AVANTGARDE'S mystery member, TRICOM,
goes through a rather hard time in
rumours about in fact working for the
famous softwarecompany TWICE EFFECT.
THE AIRWOLF TEAM stand behind the
accusations, but they are throughout
denied by the organization and core
in AVANTGARDE. The rumours continue
to rain over the group, basically not

ending up in much but unanswered
questions.

TRIBUTE - THE CONCEPT IS REALITY
________________________________
Shortly before going it is official.
NEWSCOPY/GENESIS*PROJECT announces the
event of events, a Commodore 64 only
party bringing back spirits of the
good old days. TRIBUTE sees light of
day. Two weeks later, after returning
from a vacation in Greece, he finds
a jammed mailbox, proving that interest
is the most intense of levels.

CLASSIC FAVORITE APPEARS AGAIN?
_______________________________
DIVINE ULTIMATUM is said to come back,

and the sysop CHAMELEON is highly
optmistic about it, claiming to take
on 2 or 3 groups; GENESIS PROJECT and
F4CG or AVANTGARDE.

A GROUP WITH 2 BOARDS

CHROMANCE announce a second part, after
taking over THE EVIL ISLAND, taking
EDGE OF MIDNIGHT into the spotlight
again.

TOLL-FREE HYPE

The hype of installing 1-8OO numbers
to American boards goes further, and
we see many of the eliteboards connect-
ing up to the hype.

CODER SAYS GOODBYE - FOR DRUGS!

DAVE/AVANTGARDE, talented coder leaves
the market for the drugmarket.

VETERANS SURPRISE

In August, GENESIS PROJECT releases
'Killer+3fx/EMPIRE', surprising many
of the people around the globe about
the old veteran being back in the
struggle of releases.

LONDON CALLING

September triggered on of the most
awaited events during the whole year.
ECTS'94 proved another success, making
people from a handful countries pack
their bags and set off for London.
F4CG, AVANTGARDE, GENESIS*PROJECT,
TALENT, PADUA and other groups made
memories for life as they strolled the
streets of London. Though the exhibi-
tion itself covered very little about
the Commodore 64, and has not been for
quite some time, ECTS is an annual
tradition for aware 64-people that

want to meet and enjoy the mere being.

DUKE IN THE SPOTLIGHT
_____________________
Sadly enough, September brought on a
tragic occurence. One of the most
appreciated magazines, distributed
from Dennmark, THE PULSE goes down for
good. DUKE, editor and head of staff
explains being fairly bored with the
work behind the magazine and the lack
of time in his social life. The scene
sees a shock coming up, and the decline
results in various magazines being
born.

LEGEND TRYING TO PROVE SOMETHING?
_________________________________
LEGEND have through the year not per-
formed much, but do proudly announce
their memberstatus, to clear up, as
they say, questions around the group.
POWERPLANT, WESTBAM, XXX, DOC, FLETCH,
JAZZCAT, REBEL, TYREE and SKATER should
be there, while JAZZCAT is the only one
to be seen on the boards. Interesting
it is, considering both DOC and FLETCH
being in GENESIS on the PC while SKATER
and are WESTBAM in RAZOR.

THE INVITATION BONANZA
______________________
Early October AVANTGARDE announce their
participation in TRIBUTE along with
GENESIS*PROJECT. F4CG also intended to
participate, but due to misunderstand-
ings, it never happened. The official
invitation is printed at an impressive
amount of 35OO, and the offical file
spreads throughout the scene. Interest
proves to be at an intense level, and
the ones involved perform a public
relation stunt, rarely seen today.

GERMAN MERGE SEPERATES
______________________
The German cooperation TRSI+DYTEC
unfortunately ceases, something putting
both the groups somewhat behind. Word
has it that TRSI will be back strong,
to bring back memories of what RED
SECTOR performed a year earlier.

AMERICAN VETERANS ON THE FORUM
______________________________
On the ever so popular THE FORUM,
more legends from the past team up.
THOR, MASTER KRACKER and SHARK turn
the board into a battlefield, something
that draws attention and focus to it.

A
AWAITED MAGAZINE RELEASED
_________________________
Finally, a competent followup to THE
PULSE appears. ALPHA FLIGHT put out
the long awaited RELAX, with similar
touches from SHOCK and THE PULSE,
speaking of a rather interesting concept
that still has a lot to prove. The
magazine receives acclaim throughout
the scene.

STEVE FINDS LOVE IN THE USA
___________________________
STEVE, who has startled the market with

his activities on the boards for
AVANTGARDE declares his resignation
from the scene again, believing he
has found the woman of his life, a
woman found on the American partylines.
Marriage is talk of the town, and
STEVE plans to pack his bags and leave
the United Kingdom to convert to the
Yanks.

HARDCORE - A NEW BREED?
_______________________
HARDCORE, a new group sees light of
day, much talked about. However, the
concept fails slightly with members
dropping in and out like flies. The
debut-release, SPOOK, has roots in
SNEAPER/F4CG, who makes a short visit,
but then returning to F4CG.

THE EVENT OF EVENTS
___________________
November triggers the much awaited
TRIBUTE. Considering, the amount of
effort put into the project, it turns
out slightly different. A bit of 2OO
people show, in many eyes disappointing,
with 35OO invitations being spread. The
party turns out as quite a success,
gathering most 64 people at at a party
in modern time.

WHERE IS TALENT?
________________
DOWN BY LAW crashes every now and then
and finds it hard to maintain a steady
support through the callers, and mainly
through TALENT, who have practiacally
vanished from the boards. The much
talked about '5-years'-demo promised
to be released at TRIBUTE has not yet
seen light of day.

A SIGN OF LIFE FROM DENMARK
___________________________
IN LIVING COLOR old ILLUSION board

appears again, apperently running under
the MOTIV8 label, a group that seems
to be on the prowl as well. A Danish
board, OLYMPUS opens up for the public.

BOARD OF CONFUSION

INTERTRADE, the GENESIS+EMPIRE board
is facing difficulties, changning
numbers, and on top of all being crashed
constantly by a yet unknown fellow,
who apperently disapproves with the
sysop MIZAR/EMPIRE.

CHROMANCE FADING AWAY?
______________________
CHROMANCE sees quite a difficult period
ahead of them. MR.WAX and other import-

ant profiles join the army, and the
duo SPLATTERHEAD+LORD CRUCIFIER head
for the Dutch breeze, SCS*TRC, a move
that causes internal struggles within
the cooperation.

DENMARK - ANOTHER SUCCESS
_________________________
THE PARTY IV is another humungous
bonanza in computers of all formats.
It puts an end to the year of 1994,
with a handful of splendid demos, one
under an interesting new label, being
REFLEX, who prove we still have a lot
to see on the machine. CENSOR, release
a onepart demo, unfortunatley stating
the fact, that CENSOR will never do
anything on the Commodore 64 again.
3OOO people attended the party, and

a mere 1OO came under the flag of 8
bits.

A VETERAN SAYS FAREWELL
_______________________
New years eve, the last day of the year,
it is official. GENESIS*PROJECT says
farewell under odd circumstances. The
majority of the members seperate under
various labels, while the inner core
of active people join up with F4CG,
increasing the friendship in between.
