here's some ranked demo-reviews
on the latest 6 months' demos!

1, TOUR DE FORCE / ORIGO

once again ORIGO strikes with an
original colourful demo. 1 part
each coded by there 3 coders: BX
CLF and MIXER and 1 tune each by
there 3 musicians: ZARDAX, MIXER
and ROCK.
the first part consists of a
GLOBE, built up by a bunch of
smooth PLOTS. very good-looking.
the second part is the greatest.
another COLOURFUL part by CLF.
the screen is full of advanced
COLOUR-MOVEMENTS, while you're
listening to ZARDAX lovely music
the last part is a bit bad de-
signed but there is also a mega-
fast LINE-VECTOR by BX. you can
choose between 4 objects.
the demo is really entertaining
to watch. new IDEAS and advanced
CODING though some parts is a
bit bad designed...

code: 93% music: 89%
design: 66% entertainment: 94%
OVERALL: 86%

2, PIECE O'CAKE 3 / MEGASTYLE

this COMEBACKDEMO from megastyle
took part in the demo-compo in
BERGEN but was released some mo-
nths later. the last part is a
typical CYCLEBURNER-PART, but
maybe it's one of his best.
the rest of the parts are coded
by SCROLL. first is a quite cool
INTRO and then comes the part
with 2 MEGA-DYCPS in sideborder
over a hires-pic. hard to code
but it looks like hell in com-
paration with panoramics m-dycp.
the movements on the dycps are
TERRIBLE and the border doesn't
seem to be open entirely, but
SPARKLERS picture is great.
the next part is the MANDELBROT
LIGHTING. there are colours over
the screen and it is possible to
zoom into the ENDLESSLY. real
hard to code, but it's boring to
watch while it's CALCULATING.
next part consists of 50 DYCPS.
hard to code but it looks like a
PIXEL-PORRIDGE while all of them
are running.
summary: advanced code, 2 good
pictures by sparkler, but the
demo is NOT so FUNNY to watch.

3, LETHAL DISP. 3 + VECTOR-SCR.
/ BONZAI

the THIRD place goes to bonzai.
best, is the VECTOR-SCROLL.
a piece of really amazing CODE
by The Human Autofire.
the main demo is linked with a
MENU-SYSTEM, but the menu-screen
isn't too cool.
coding by WALT'N TRAP. most gpx
by FOX (also trix and dize),
and music by DRAX and METAL.
the three parts by trap are no-
thing special, but some of the
parts by WALT are COOLER!
for example: a picture with 320
by 400 pixels RESOLUTION with 3
colours, a CIRCLE-SCROLL with
plots, a STAR-SPREADING routine
with text over + some less ad-
vanced parts...
i must say that i had expected
even a bit BETTER from bonzai,
but they will soon release more
demos...

4, MOONWALK / WARRIORS OF TIME

place number 4 goes to wot.
a lot of cool parts coded by
TAMTRAX and CHALLENGER.
the demo contained:
a 85 SPRITES multi-plexer, cool
VECTOR-GRAPHICS, a 3-d PLOTTER,
2 MEGA-DYCPS over sideborder-
scrolls, a DXYCP-SCROLL on a pl-
otter, a imitation of panoramics
circle-BOUNCE-SCROLL and a terr-
ible multi-plexed DYSP without
d010 over DREADFUL RASTERS! that
part almost destroyed the demo.
also a lot of cool graphics by
ROOSTER, and not too bad music
by HARMONY PRODUCTIONS...

code: 81% music: 71%
design: 79% entertainment: 76%
OVERALL: 77%

5, JUST 4 PARTS / COSMOS DESIGNS

as the name says this demo con-
sists of 4 OARTS + INTRO.
2 parts coded by MC. SPRITE and
2 parts coded by PANTHER. all
music by mc.sprites little bro-
ther called MC. LORD not bad for
being his first music. the rout-
ines in this demo are: a 5 chars
high FLI-SCROLL(biggest so far),
, 60 DYCPS and in the last and
coolest part, a two screens high
HIRES-PICTURE is moving around.
over the cool picture, is a MEGA
DYCP and a multi-plexed sinus.
together with the music the gen-
eral impression is: COOL!
finally i must say that i agree
in hannes sommers request to all
demo-authors: MAKE A COOL GAME!
the better games, the longer the
c64 will stay ALIVE, and you'll
earn some MONEY...
