\ THE TRIAD GAMERS GUIDE /

triad brings you this guide to recent
games. we want to inform you of all
the different versions brought out
by all the groups on the cracker scene

* joy in port 1 or 2 to scroll pages.
* shift-lock to pause logo scroll.

we review games and add them to the
GAMERS GUIDE as soon as possible. we
will keep them in THE GUIDE for two
or even three issues because we want
to be able to show EVERY version that
has been released.

\ GAMERS GUIDE /

we can not quarantee that we will be
able to test every level of every game
so we would like you to help. let us
know when you find a bug or if we miss
a nice aspect of a crack.

if you want to make sure that your
cracks are always in the GUIDE, send
them directly to TRIAD. we accept
written or telephone reports, but only
if we can get someone neutral to
confirm the figures.

the games are listed in alphabetical
order. the versions are listed in
order of their lenght, shortest first.

\ GAMERS GUIDE /

we don't say that the shortest is the
best, but normally the best is to be
found among those who are shortest.
the crackers who take the time and
have the skil to remove crap from the
code are more likely to get a better
crack.

generally a high amount of cheats is
appreciated when comparing versions,
but too many cheats can be silly or
can even destroy a game. if the only
point of a cheat is to add another '+'
we woun't regard it as a bonus.

most reactions to the GAMERS GUIDE
have been positive. people think that
it is fine that they too will get to
show their cracking abilities to the
the scene. speed should not be every-
thing. a supplier with inside
connections should not be everything.

like us, those groups think that a few
extra hours to make a better quality
crack should be rewarded and it is
only fair that the efforts are
recognized. after all, if we foul up,
the GAMERS GUIDE will show that too.
so it is: behave or be exposed.

\ GAMERS GUIDE /

one group has been VERY negativ to the
GAMERS GUIDE. they say that TRIAD is
doing the GUIDE only to promote TRIAD!
they say we list the games on length
only to promote TRIAD.

does it surprice you that this group
has its own diskmag where they compare
one game per issue depending on date
of release?

THE GUIDE shows the world ALL cracks
we know of or else it would not be a
guide. what we promote is high
quality cracking giving a good game
a fair chance.

\ GAMERS GUIDE /

another complaint from this group is
that TRIAD is using a short intro to
make our cracks shorter. wadda joke!!
MR.Z, LUCIFER, 3D and JANITOR used a
very short intro and what we do now is
only to keep up the TRIAD tradition
because we like it.

way back in 1986 several groups didn't
use an intro at all and then our intro
added to the crack. later other groups
started making more and more advanced
intros to show their ability to code.
TRIAD never fell for that. we have
always saved it for our demos.

\ GAMERS GUIDE /

turning questions over, we wonder if
maybe those who complain, do this
because they can't code a good looking
short intro themselves. it could also
be that they prefere a long intro to
blame when they don't want to bother
to make a quality crack.

the idea of an intro is to introduce
the game and to show the world what
group made the crack. TRIAD prefere
to make it short, and that is it!

well, enough of that and over to the

LIGHT won the demo competition at the
dexion conference. that was held bet-
ween the 26th and 29th december in

lights demo 'BRUTAL II' included some
