Hello this is Violator/Afl writing this small chapter
just so you can see whats up in the Swedish scene.
As you might have noticed, the scene in Sweden is not
that active as some years ago.
The amount of sceners are slowly decreasing, but
still some old sceners come back too.

Today we only have 4 boards, if you don't count the
small and unnoticed boards like Fossie Bbs (a PD board)
Here you have the numbers of the Swedish boards.
Antidote XXXXXXXXXXXXX Triad+Wrath Designs+Afl
Sysop: Taper/Triad.
The Studio XXXXXXXXXXXXX Triad, Sysop: Jerry/Triad.
Virtual Light XXXXXXXXXXXXX Triad+Active+Driven
Sysop: Tao/Triad.
Wares Aquarium XXXXXXXXXXXXX Fairlight+Hitmen
Sysop: Sledge/Fairlight.

So give them all a call to help the Swedish board scene.
The active groups inSweden are easily counted these
days. Some of them are not that active, but here you
have a list of them.
Some of the groups are not based in Sweden, but they
have some members in Sweden.
Active, Triad, Fairlight, Hitmen, Onslaught, F4cg,
Flash Inc, Alter, Lepsi, Crest, Noice, Megaunit,
Ascraeus, Nitros, Wrath Designs, Nostalgia, Antic.

Still there are rumours that Censor, Light and Horizon
will do a comeback on the 64, but honestly i don't think
so. (Ed: Censor for sure, Light maybe..)
But i hope you prove me wrong with releasing some
really nice demos.
Then what can we expect from the Swedish scene in the
future? Lately both Fairlight and Triad have taken on a
lot of new members to make a massive comeback onto
the really active scene again.
A lot of the groups in Sweden are talking about a lot of
projects. But still we haven't seen much at all.
I will try to type something about the latest releases
from some of the groups in Sweden.

FAIRLIGHT: released some quality cracks in the last
months. But they just lost their talented Polish
cracker Moonchild to Hitmen.
Sledge is still doing a great job with his board WAQ
which is considered by many foreign guys as the best
board in Sweden.
Planned releases are 'LEGALIZE IT', a demo by Tron.
'REFORMATION ISSUE #11', 'DEVIL TRACKS 3' and some
small projects such as a single file demo and tools.

TRIAD: Gained a lot of new members in the last 2 months.

Quality cracks have been released and a firstie too.
Cracks will always come as long as there are the games
A small demo and a picture by Sliver that won the
Flags'96 party this year.
Triad has three boards up and running at the moment.
Antidote is rumoured to be the best thing that has
happened to the Swedish scene in years.
Planned release are as always quality cracks, demos,
a gfx collection, a mag (ED: Swapper's Guide) and some
first releases now and then.

F4CG: A lot of cracks and first releases. As always.
They have lost their board in the states some time ago.
(ED: Dream Park, shared with Avt).
They gained another, (ED: Holiday Inn Cambodia) but
they lost that one too some days later.
The best thing that has happened to F4cg according
to many, is that they got some of the Avantgarde
members when Avt died.
Planned things are the Tribute 2 in November and a
demo is also said to be produced by Devil and some
more members.
(ED: sad news being that their Tribute party was
cancelled and they have lost a lot of members lately)

FLASH INC: Not much has been heard from this group.
The last few months only Morpheus seems to be the
active guy in FHI when it comes to calling the Swedish
boards.
Planned releases are the comeback of their mag
Hotshot. It's votesheet was spread some months ago.
But since there has been almost no sign of them at all.
The last i heard was that their German member called
Warp 8 had done a totally new outfit for their mag and
he was also coding some demo parts for their demo.
(ED: also heard that Moon was to release a msx coll.)

ANTIC: Not much has happened since they released
their demo on the Party V in Denmark. But some rumour
says that they will release a demo in the near future.
A 2nd graphics collection by Creeper is also said to
be released. (ED: titled: 'Creepshow 2')

ACTIVE: Well not much has happened n this group over
the last months. But now that the summer is over they
have been spotted on some Swedish boards.
Trident is composing a lot of tunes these days.
Rumour has it they will release their 7 years demo in
the near future.

ALTER: is the most active group in Sweden, if you look
at the amount of demos in the last year.
But now some of the members have joined the Polish
group Lepsi Developments, and one member for Noice.
But even if they only have 3 or 4 members left, they
still managed to release another small demo called
'Yet another meeting demo'.

WRATH DESIGNS: Just recently took 4th place at the
Assembly'96 with their demo 'Stupidity 3' A really good
demo. Most said that they deserved 2nd place in the
compo.
With this demo they marked their return into the
active scene after 1.5 years of silence.
More demos are to be released in the future. All we can
hope for is that it won't take another 18 months to be
released. They also share the bbs Antidote with Triad.
MEGAUNIT: Their latest release ws released on the
Assembly '96 party. It was their 3rd note writer
collection. They have members from a lot of places
around the globe.
Planned releases are 'SCS COLLECTION 3', 'DEAFMANIA 2',
and a demo and a graphics collection from Ranz & Jb.

NOICE: Not much has happened to this demo group.
They gained some members and lost some.
RUmour has it that they are planning to release a demo
and a gfx collection by Stasi.
But those rumours have been in the air for a longtime
now.
But they say that it will come soon, so we will just have
to wait and see.

Well there you have it. I only took those groups which
have a real hq in Sweden. Game lables in Sweden????
Well sure we have two of those.
One is not that unknown called Cherry Soft which has
spread some really nice previews of their coming
games.
Games like 'Bouncy Balls' and a lot more high quality
games and then we have a new games lable called
Ambush Designs. Some of you mmight recognize this
group. But if you didn't know it, Ambush is dead as a
demo lable.
They will only release high quality games for the 64.
Not one day coded puzzle games, but real games like in
the old days. Nice graphics,music and nicely styled.
Fun games that you don't throw away after some hours
Support the scene with buying games.

The final point on gender today is my personal view on
the scene today.
I know you all know that it's not the same as some years
ago, but it's still a place where you have fun. Think
about it.
Can you really imagine how much the scene has meant
for us all??? I mean how many guys have been in the
the scene???

Some compare the scene to drugs and why not.
I get a kick from swapping. I love to open those sends
and i really like those demos.
Just take an old demo and turn it on, there you are in a
new world.
Some get their kick from cracking and some from
hacking cards. We all do our part for the scene.

With some final words i would like to say to you all,
thanks.. and i really mean it.
Because if it wasn't for you their wouldn't be what we
all call the scene.
Keep it alive by doing your part.
We have what many others don't have these days.
