here's an article that i wanted to write<br />
already for a couple months,but for<br />
some reason,i never did it!!<br />
the mainsubject of this article is<br />
magazines...<br />
everybody is complaining about the big<br />
amount of magazines,but the chance to<br />
be in a group without a magazine is<br />
pretty low!!<br />
why are there so many magazines<br />
anyway? there are for sure some (good)<br />
reasons,but the main reason,i think,is<br />
that everybody can write text!!<br />
yep,it's true!! i bet,you've also<br />
written letters to persons!!<br />
the only thing else you need more,is<br />
an outfit. this aint a big problem<br />
either,as mostly every group has a<br />
coder and a painter! well,there you<br />
are... another magazine!!<br />
now it's up to the writer to make it<br />
something special!!<br />
and this is were it mostly fucks up!!<br />
it is ofcourse required that the<br />
writer know his english very well!!<br />
but that's mostly not the problem...<br />
the real problem is that the writer<br />
does not know enough about the scene<br />
and the history of it!!!<br />
also lots of "newcomers" start mags!!<br />
this simply can't go right!<br />
if you start p.e. writing a bible but<br />
you don't know who jesus is,you miss<br />
alot!! well,the same goes for the<br />
scene... newcomers have for sure not<br />
heard of "upfront" or "contex",but<br />
these groups were the best demogroups<br />
some years ago. without knowing the<br />
history of the scene,you don't know<br />
who to respect and simply write shit<br />
about the groups,which you ought to<br />
respect! but if you rag on an old<br />
legend,you're mag will be quite a<br />
disaster as everybody will be angry<br />
about it!! also,lots of magazines<br />
got no original ideas,and if you got<br />
nothing original,you've got to write<br />
about subjects other people also write<br />
about!! this way,you'll end up being<br />
a parrot,saying everything other guys<br />
said before you,and now your magazine<br />
will also flop!! well,this is exactly<br />
what's happening for atleast a year!!<br />
and this is why people started to<br />
dislike magazines!! there are simply<br />
too many mags without original things!<br />
i know it's hard to find original<br />
things to write about,but it's not<br />
impossible!! script is doing very<br />
well,although not all the ideas are<br />
good,many are!! and script is a top<br />
magazine!! but what makes a magazine<br />
even worst than lack of historical<br />
knowledge,is lack of what's happening<br />
today!! you might wonder about this,<br />
but if we see in a chart in some mags<br />
the following...<br />

then i really think that the mag is<br />
giga lame!!!<br />
how can hein holt be on both the 1st,<br />
2nd and 3rd place!?! and how can orc<br />
ever be on number 3 and 4?!?<br />
yep,hein holt=hein design=di-art.<br />
this is so fucking lame!!<br />
is it really that hard,to know atleast<br />
the people who're being voted for?!?<br />
i can understand if you don't know<br />
everybody in the scene,as i don't know<br />
them either,but atleast try to keep up<br />
with the 'elite'!<br />
so,before you start a magazine,keep in<br />
mind that you need knowledge of what<br />
has happened and on what is still<br />
happening! respect those who deserve<br />
it!! it's much better to start a mag<br />
with original ideas,than to start one<br />
that's just like any other mag!!<br />
if you've released the first issue,but<br />
it didn't get the attention you hoped<br />
for,then try to find out what's wrong!<br />
if people say it looks just like any<br />
other mag,better stop it,as it will<br />
only be negative and time-wasting for<br />
you to continue!!<br />
i hope you'll take good use of these<br />
little hints to make a successfull<br />
magazine.<br />
