New page

<pre>

"who are the voters?"

an article by TCH/BRUTAL.

----------------------------------------

if you compare the charts from one mag
to another, you will come to the
conclusion that no charts are equal to
eachother.

you probably have read this somewhere:

"people who vote don't know what they
vote for, they just want their address
in the contactcorner of the magazines!"

well, this text is a bit true as far as
the voters don't really care who's
nr.1 and so on,they just write their
top 10 in a random (elite) order.
so people say that voters don't know
anything of what they talk about!?!
this is not really true if we talk
about cracking. most voters vote
because they want their address in the
contact-corner so that means that most
voters are SWAPPERS.
and who get all the wares?!?
right! swappers do. and as swappers
get all the wares, they are the best to
judge who's the best!!!
now there are people that want the
graphic-artists to vote for the
graphic-artists and the composers to
vote for the composers and so on.
but mostly those dudes don't swap with
a lot of dudes!!!
so don't get the wares!!
it's also unfair to let the USA dudes
vote for european groups as they,
especialy with cracks, only get to see
the version which appear on the boards
so only the 'elite'-wares...
while mostly these versions are the
worst,but they are fast!!
now to get back to the swappers...
the biggest group of people on this
machine are,you guessed it,swappers!!
so what the swappers think is most
important,isn't that right!!
they can let people raise and fall in
the charts and so on..
and you can't judge TASTE!
this taste is of big influence in both
the MUSIC as the GRAPHIX section of
this computer...
if you say that GOTCHA can't draw than
that's what you think of it...
as it seems that a lot of people like
his graphix he's the number 1.
it's the same with JCH. i personaly
don't think he's the best composer,but
a lot think he is so he rules charts!
if we really want to know who's the
best cracker,we can easily test this
by sending every cracker the original
of a super-protected game and ask him
to crack it,but not to put an intro
infront of it and not to do any double
cheating. also put on a time limit and
then you'll see who is/are the best!!!
with coding this is also possible by
simply asking every good coder to code
a routine for whatever (for instance
128 bobs) and see who makes the one
that takes less rastertime.
for graphics and music this is not
possible because of this 'taste'thing!
and also for magazines this is some-
thing which counts.
for swapping-charts it's real strange
as i see people voting for me,while i
don't even swap with them!!!
strange,strange,strange...
the last thing there is,is friendship.
people sometimes vote for their own
group-members or for their friends...
this is somekind of cheating by the
voters themselves, but what can be done
to avoid this?!? nothing i'm afraid!

so i think that you shouldn't take any
chart too serious as it depends on the
number of people who voted and on who
has voted and possible friendship.

----------------------------------------

you've got anything to say to this,

then send your thoughts to:

"brutal recall!"
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

----------------------------------------
</pre>
