New page

"CDTV"

this article will contain some info
about the latest production of COMMODORE
which is called the CDTV.
it took COMMODORE about two years to
develop this great machine..
let's start with some info about it:

-CDTV means Commodore Dynamic Total
Vision.

-the CDTV is actualy an AMIGA (with 1mb
memory) and some kind of CD player!

-the CD-side can be used to read data
into memory, but also to play normal
MUSIC cd's.

-1 cd-plate can hold more than 600 MB.
(that's about 700 3.5 disk!!)

let's have some technical information
about the CDTV now:

-speed of reading CD'S:153kb/sec (mode1)
171kb/sec (mode2)
2MB /sec

-graphics: AMIGA-resulution (up to 640 x
512 pixels) and 4096 colours.

-sound ability: normal AMIGA sound, or
CD sound!

-CPU: motorola 68000 (7mhz)

at this point the so called CDTV is very
expensive, and there's not so much
special CDTV software (although normal
AMIGA games also should run on CDTV).
but some software is being developped.
one title which is under development is
GO TO HELL, which promisses to be a good
game, with suberb graphics...
GO TO HELL will also be available for
the normal AMIGA, but it will feature
cut-down graphics and sound, and maybe
some elements of the game itself will be
gone....
but only time will tell us....
i hope you know enough about the CDTV
for now, and if more information passes
our ears, you'll be the first one the
hear it!

SLASH/BRUTAL
