INTERVIEW CHAPTER

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

This month we have another nice
interview for you to read.
I liked it when I read it, it's editted
in a nice style.
The editor is Tonuwa RTD Wotnau.
He was interviewed in ARACHNOPHOBIA#1.
But now he has editted an interview
himself!

All involved: Tonuwa+Vectrocon+MacGuyver
are herby thanked and greeted by the
entire SPIDERS-CREW.

Stirf
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hello, dear readers!!! Some of you
might know that between 4. and 6. 10.
there should be a big party called
Demobit '96 in Bratislava/Slovakia.
Unfortunately, seven days before the
party main sponsors said no and Demobit
was put off to an uncertain time...
But friendship knows no limits and the
scene should be here for friendship. So
Tonuwa RTD Wotnau, MacGyver/Fairlight
and Vectrocon of FLT arranged their own
little meeting at Tonuwa's place. For a
short time also Bacillus and Allitaice
of SCS*TRC were present to see the new
SuperCPU (which Vectrocon brought with
him), so we can call it a little party.
I (i. e. Tonuwa) couldn't resist the
opportunity to interview both the FLT
members. As you could have guessed
already, it was done "live" on my
computer. Some of you will find the text
crazy - but this music would probably
drive crazy anybody...
Well, I can't be sure whether this is
the very first time, nevertheless sure
it's a rare event when two people are
interviewed at the same time. Here is
the result:

----------------------------------------

Tonuwa:
-------
HI GUYS! WHO ARE YOU?

MacGyver:
---------
Hi, my name is XXXX and I'm the main
swapper of Fairlight at the moment and
I'm also collecting games and demos.

Vectrocon:
----------
Well, my real name is XXXXX and I'm a
brother of MacGyver. My job in Fairlight
is coder and soon editor for the
Reformation. I'm also preparing cracks
of older games which will feature
SuperCPU support.

Tonuwa:
-------
YOU JUST BROUGHT ME TO TWO OTHER
QUESTIONS! DOES IT MEAN THAT REFORMATION
WILL BE RELEASED AGAIN AND WILL
FAIRLIGHT SUPPORT THE NEW CMD
ACCELERATOR?

Vectrocon:
----------
We want to re-bear the magazine but
that's not easy because many of the
Fairlight members have their jobs or are
studying and don't have much time for
the C-64.
About the SuperCPU... Well, we plan a
regular chapter about it in the
Reformation and I've developped a
RAMdisk system which can be installed in
games like a level depacker which acts
like a shadow drive and every file once
loaded will remain and can be directly
decrunched from there then. We are
preparing several games with it but
couldn't release them yet because we
have to wait until CMD's RAMcard for the
SuperCPU is available.

Tonuwa:
-------
FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW YET, COULD YOU
SAY WHAT RAMCARD IS?

Vectrocon:
----------
It is a board for the SuperCPU with
which you can extend the memory up to 16
megabytes by using SIMMs. The memory is
directly accessable from the processor
and sowith can be used for almost
anything.

Tonuwa:
-------
AND WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON IN THE ILLEGAL
PART OF THE GROUP?

Vectrocon:
----------
With Moonchild we used to have good
cracks but now he's gone for Hitmen so
we are looking for a new cracker.
Anyway, his fine cracks didn't reach the
whole scene because, unfortunately,
MacGyver can't swap with everybody.

MacGyver:
---------
Yes, you hit the point. And now I have
even less time for my swapping
activities because my work started in
August this year. For most of my
contacts, I do personal sendings because
I'm also swapping old stuff.
Fairlight stuff can also be obtained
from Warez Aquarium.

Tonuwa:
-------
ARE YOU THE ONLY SWAPPER IN FAIRLIGHT
AT THE MOMENT?

MacGyver:
---------
Yes.

Tonuwa:
-------
OH! AND WHAT SHOULD BE THE NEXT
FAIRLIGHT PRODUCT YOU WILL SPREAD
AROUND?

MacGyver:
---------
It will be our demo "Legolize it" or
anything else that comes before.
Probably Vectrocon can tell you a bit
more about it.

Tonuwa:
-------
WELLLL?

Vectrocon:
----------
Well... Harlekin, Rowdy and Trash have
done some parts, I'm trying to
contribute with one, too. Tron, however,
is very busy with his job in the States
and so he won't code anything for it.

Tonuwa:
-------
OK, THAT'S CLOSE FUTURE, AND WHAT ABOUT
THE CLOSE PAST? WHEN AND HOW DID YOU
JOIN THE GROUP, WHAT WERE YOUR PREVIOUS
GROUPS AND SO ON?

Vectrocon:
----------
We joined in early 1996. Until summer of
1995, I was in the Airwolf Team and
after its death I did what many other
members did, too: I decided to leave
the scene. Several months later I got
a joining offer from Fairlight. It said
that they're interested in me and the
most skilled members of my previous
group. After some talks with Sledge and
Bacchus we agreed.

MacGyver:
---------
After the AWT died, I preffered to stay
groupless until the offer from Sledge
came.

Tonuwa:
-------
HOW MANY CONTACTS DO YOU HAVE, MAC?

MacGyver:
---------
In my contact list I have almost
one hundred addresses but some of those
guys are inactive.

Tonuwa:
-------
OOPS, I HAVE HARDLY FIFTEEN CONTACTS AND
AM PRETTY DELAYED ANYWAY! WORD UP, MAC!

MacGyver:
---------
Don't worry, I also have to send to this
and that guy :-]

Tonuwa:
-------
LIKE ME FOR EXAMPLE :-D

MacGyver:
---------
Still, discstealing is a crime.

Tonuwa:
-------
FINALLY I CAN BE SURE THAT I'M REALLY
INTERVIEWING MACGYVER!!! HEY, VECTROCON,
TO BRING YOU BACK IN THE DIALOGUE AGAIN,
TELL ME - HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS MAG?

Vectrocon:
----------
Well, it's quite good but the best mag
is still MagGyver! ;)

Tonuwa:
-------
YOU GOT ME! BUT LET'S GET A LITTLE BIT
MORE SERIOUS AGAIN... IN EVERY MAG,
EVERY INTERVIEWED PERSON IS ASKED ABOUT
WHAT HE/SHE THINKS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF
THE C=64, THE SCENE AND SO ON. DO YOU
WANT TO ANSWER, AND ALSO, WHAT DO YOU
THINK ABOUT THIS QUESTION?

Vectrocon:
----------
Yawn. simply: C=64 rules, PC suxx. And
anyway, such a question you should ask
only when there's a reason to worry.

Tonuwa:
-------
ANY COMMENTS, MAC?

MacGyver:
---------
I think that releasewise, this year has
been better than the previous one as
there were a lot of cool demos and also
some nice games.
But I think the demos are a bit too
similar to each other. The game scene
should cooperate a lot more, for example
games should always be in English
language.

Tonuwa:
-------
WOULD YOU MIND SOME BRAINSTORMING NOW?

Both:
-----
YES, WE WOULD!!!

Tonuwa:
-------
PLEASE!!! ANY INTERVIEW OF TODAY HAS TO
HAVE A BRAINSTORMING PART!!! THE CHIEF
EDITOR (Hi Stirf! ed.) WILL KILL ME IF I
DON'T BRING HIM ANY!

Vectrocon:
----------
Okay, we'll show some mercy, hehe.

MacGyver:
---------
When I have to think about
brainstorming, I have to think about
Brainstorm Software and their game Boom.

Tonuwa:
-------
SO... WHAT IS ON YOUR MIND WHEN YOU
HEAR:

MacGyver Vectrocon
it's probably not worth doin'. (Bacchus)
